In testing he fired torps every time but because the player can behave in various ways the AI won't always respond the same way.
Hopefully they add tools similar to those found in Arms where you can control the AI more precisely in mission design.
I believe I made the mistake of thinking that USS Reuben James was with the convoy at the time but I think you are correct, it isn't until later in the book that the Reuben James is moved into the Atlantic and Morris takes command of her.
And I'll look at improving performance too.
fun mission otherwise
I think it would make more sense if you had her out on her own and have other the other escorts spread out around the convoy, too far away to help immediately but within helo range.
Also to help with lag I think it would be better to have no convoy at all but instead have an objective circle for the enemy sub so that if it enters that area you can assume that the sub is withing range for an attack on the convoy. That way you don't have to have the convoy in the mission at all.
The chapter describes Pharris and the other 4 escorts dealing with the sub and I thought the scenario here matched it fairly well.
This isn't supposed to represent the mission in which Pharris gets her bow blown off, that one will come later!
Pharris should be much further to the north and on her own, too far away for other escorts to help. An Orion wouldn't go amiss in this mission either. Even though they don't help Pharris in the chapter it would balance being alone.
