@frankyStein you can subscribe mid-game, but it will not change the universe that has already been generated. You would need to explore and generate new regions to see any difference

Cool mod.

Are we supposed to use this only with a new save file with a freshly generated universe or can we safely subscribe mid-game?
skywufei1 30 Jan @ 8:05am
I'd love an x10 version!
Rob Bobbert 20 Jan @ 8:06am
Lovely mod!
May I request one with EVEN LESS habitable planets pretty please?
I want my galaxy to feel like habitable planets are a rarity.
borsk  [author] 14 Jan @ 8:35pm
That's not intentional. All I did was enable moons for barren worlds. If the game generates too many of them, I don't know why
Luna 14 Jan @ 5:58pm
I almost never find barren planets that have less than two moons, is that intentional? I know moons were added to them but was their spawn frequency increased as well?
ketchupketsup 9 Jan @ 8:46pm
this is an awesome concept i feel like this would make finding habitable planets a lot more valuable definitely gonna use this for a future run
Jean1337_ 18 Dec, 2024 @ 9:21am
Congrats. I felt like I needed a mod like this
Neurotickyte 9 Dec, 2024 @ 9:25am
The Starfield update?!
ABlueHairedFox 4 Dec, 2024 @ 2:59pm
Not really, just thought ye'd want to learn more about modding and such. People asked for compatibility with Truespace, maybe people there can help ya with that.
borsk  [author] 4 Dec, 2024 @ 2:35pm
I accepted the request, but why? Is there something that needs to be improved about this mod?
ABlueHairedFox 4 Dec, 2024 @ 11:45am
Don't mean to advertise anything here, but I shot ya a friend request 'cause I wanna try inviting you to a discord server with people who can help ya learn how to mod better and improve this mod.

Yippie
Also to be entirely honest i was joking lol (i forgot to mention i was joking)
borsk  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 9:38am
Good news, everyone! This mod is now compatible with with Frackin' Universe! Enjoy!
borsk  [author] 30 Nov, 2024 @ 5:51pm
to clarify: it harmlessly doesn't affect new star types. It shouldn't break anything, but the new star types would be just overpopulated as the other mod makers make them
cutieryan 30 Nov, 2024 @ 2:41pm
I like the idea of this mod, it helps make the habitable planets more special by making the universe feel less overpopulated. I am considering on getting your mod, but I am also curious about why you say it's incompatible with planet tier 7+ or new star types.

Did you mean that your mod harmlessly doesn't affect non-vanilla star types, or is there actual conflict with other mods that add those?
CrazyEXP 30 Nov, 2024 @ 12:17pm
This would be a great challenging mod I was looking up for. If you can make it compatible with FU and some other mods that would be great. I'll follow this mod.
borsk  [author] 29 Nov, 2024 @ 2:09pm
I'll see if I can make it compatible with FU
Manoa 29 Nov, 2024 @ 6:48am
amazing idea, tho i struggle to add it if this isn't compatible with FU since its a main component i always play with
Caliperstorm 28 Nov, 2024 @ 9:38am
Ok, it seems like this mod doesn't change the spawn chances of Arcana planets at all. Any Arcana star is jam-packed with habitable planets (including tier 4 and 5 planets like Windswept and Verdant). Thankfully, the damage is contained to only those stars, so normal systems are as barren as intended.
Caliperstorm 28 Nov, 2024 @ 9:22am
FU and Arcana both add planet types with higher difficulty tiers (7, 8, 9, and 10), if that's what you mean by "planet tier"

I'm going to test it with Arcana, but my modlist isn't set up for FU at the moment
borsk  [author] 28 Nov, 2024 @ 4:00am
I never tested it, nor am I particularly familiar with that mod. Regular compatibility rules apply. Does it add new planet tiers? Should be compatible if it doesn't
omba 28 Nov, 2024 @ 3:51am
now, is it FU compatible...
borsk  [author] 27 Nov, 2024 @ 10:17pm
With my current level of knowledge creating a compatibility patch would take just as much effort as creating the mod itself, and I have no desire to maintain 7 identical codebases. Maybe I'll do it later if I get better at modding and unlock a better compatibility-creation skill. I'm not even a real modder, I'm just 3 frogs in a trench coat
Ilthe 27 Nov, 2024 @ 9:51pm
Rebuilding my current mod list to include this!
I'll take the x10 version! Or even x20 version plus less stars and less planets around stars on top...
Would rebuild my mod list for that at any time again.

Are you against adding compatibility to mods with more planet tiers, or it is just not your current priority?

There is a search mod, good with mpi. But I'd gladly take the blind exploration - makes space feel more space-y.

I like engaging with other ways of getting fuel rather that mining moons every time, like trading ship-grown food or looting space ships and anomalies.

Wish there was a mod that added fuel costs to interplanetary travels too, so there was even more incentive to manage your fuel reserves.
Mudgeon 26 Nov, 2024 @ 9:25pm
truly the peak of starbound modding but the planets are just not barren enough. please make a x20 barren version or at least a x10. i need more barren planets
FUS 25 Nov, 2024 @ 10:34am
TrueSpace isn't that difficult to patch, it just adds a lot of stuff to the .config files which can make it a bit overwhelming to look at.
You can pick appart TS and my Add Earthlikes to Truespace mod I put together a while back to see the most basic way I did it.
Or any of my mods for that matter, that's how I learned most of it, outside of reading the guides.

Oh, and as for the underground oceans, Maple32 has those, so you can potentially check how that works there. As well as Ocean minibiomes mod for the surface ones.
borsk  [author] 24 Nov, 2024 @ 7:38pm
(Or any other issues, for that matter)
borsk  [author] 24 Nov, 2024 @ 7:38pm
Ladies, gentlemen and entities that have transcended beyond the need for such trivial labels, I have good news. I think I just fixed the peacekeepers! Everything I've tested so far is working. Please, unsubscribe and resubscribe to this mod and let me know if you encounter any peacekeeper-related issues
♫ Tadpole ♫ 24 Nov, 2024 @ 3:54pm
That's completely understandable, modding is hard work.
borsk  [author] 24 Nov, 2024 @ 3:32pm
@Tadpole sorry, my modding skills aren't yet good enough to make it compatible. Best I could do would be to make an entire separate mod for that, but even that would require rewriting the entire codebase from scratch. While it's possible that I might one day do that, for now I'd rather focus on fixing issues with this one and adding content to it
DrakonBlake 24 Nov, 2024 @ 2:34pm
This reminded me of an idea I had for rogue planets (It'd essentially be a star system but the star is the planet with maybe some moons) (There'd only inorganic life or life really close to the core if the core isn't too cold yet)
♫ Tadpole ♫ 24 Nov, 2024 @ 1:51pm
I like this, makes the universe more realistic. Any chances this may be compatible with TrueSpace?
LuniFoxo 24 Nov, 2024 @ 8:17am
this is terrible. i love this.
ABlueHairedFox 23 Nov, 2024 @ 5:04pm
Yeah, man. Get that ambition goin'. Make this something great for challenge playthroughs! Resources on barren worlds along with the variations you mentioned would help in a universe like this as well as give people a reason to visit these planets, as currently barren planets just take up a space that could've had a world with resources.
Maybe even overhaul the more extreme planets like lava worlds and such to be more desolate and lifeless, making the ones with actual life more of a rarity.
borsk  [author] 23 Nov, 2024 @ 4:31pm
Yeah. They could have different environmental hazards (frozen barren worlds like Mars/scorched barren worlds like Mercury/toxic barren worlds like Venus). They could have different difficulty tiers and corresponding ores. It could be interesting to allow occasional subterranean life on barren worlds, subterranean oceans or even subterranean atmosphere. I think I'll start working on those ideas after I fix the peacekeepers
ABlueHairedFox 23 Nov, 2024 @ 2:38pm
Now if only we had a mod that adds more diversity to barren worlds. While life shouldn't be as common, even barren worlds we know of have some pretty interesting aspects.
gartfart36 23 Nov, 2024 @ 7:09am
i love the idea behind this mod
FUS 23 Nov, 2024 @ 5:13am
Starfield better watch out
