Sounds like I need to play a Skarsnik campaign!
I dont want to be annoying or anything just wondering if this could be a conflict with other mods, but its weird that its only with skarsnik when im not using any mod that modify the greenskins mechanics
Do you have any mods that modify that faction? This mod includes the Big Stabbas in the standard units_to_groupings_military_permissions_tables, but it will not include custom ones.
I haven't played with the Dynamic ROR mod yet to see what would be good unit variations to the Big Stabbas.
When a orc walks in with an enormous stick and a sharp thing in your face, you get stabbas!
They will stand and poke. They may as well be Bloated Corpses in auto-resolve however, so do play the battle manually if you want them to survive a siege battle.
Might be Steam weirdness with versions as Siege Attacker was there when I took the screenshot. I uploaded a newer version to the pack file with slight hp buff. Please re-subscribe to see if Siege Attacker shows up for you.
I've just edited the unit in RPFM with 296 health and MD 20 and this seems to be a good spot for them to be. They now handily beat Ogre Bulls. They lose against Maneaters, but bring the Maneaters down to 20% health. I compared them to Savage Orc Big Un's against Maneaters. The stabbas have a lot less staying power than the Big Un's, but dish out more damage against large entities. I think that's a good spot for them to be in.
They definitely need a buff though. I tested them 1v1 against Ogre Bulls and they lost. I understand you'd want them saturated by infantry in a real battle scenario but they should not lose against lower tier units they directly counter. They definitely should not have the same health as Skaven Warp Grinders. They are not Skaven Warp Grinders after all, but Savage Orcs! Their melee defence is also lower than Warp Grinders.
Currently they have 4k health at 164 health per entity. I would probably upp this to something like 296 health per entity which would put them at 7k health. Up their Melee Defence to around 20 and I think they should be in a good spot!
Thanks to everyone for the kind words!
Exactly my thoughts haha, awesome.
medusa0 and CO. : FINE. We'll make it ourselves.
A bunch of orcs wielding battering rams as weapons is hilarious & kinda looks cool, surprised they don't have the wallbreaker trait or even the siegebreaker trait, even more surprised these boys ain't in the khorne/ogre/orc dlc.
BIG STABBAS ARE GOOD FOR STABBIN' JUST LIKE SMALL STABBAS BUT THEYZ STAB ARDER.
