@Aperson Well, the chunks arent there if the snow covers them so they cannot be hauled. You will have to remove the snow first
Aperson 11 Mar @ 8:38am
The snow also covered my icons, like the haul things icon over stone chunks
Mlie  [author] 16 Feb @ 11:55am
@Dizzy Ioeuy Well, yea technically they despawn but in-game you could see it as they being frozen
Dizzy Ioeuy 16 Feb @ 11:53am
plus they'd be frozen?
Mlie  [author] 16 Feb @ 11:11am
@herorichard1123 I think they already dont, since they despawn.
herorichard1123 16 Feb @ 10:02am
you should make it so that food items under snow dont spoil
seba jedna wjeba 13 Feb @ 4:31pm
straight up evil, i am installing it
Dizzy Ioeuy 13 Feb @ 11:55am
Mine do
Mlie  [author] 13 Feb @ 9:00am
@Rex They should be
Rex 13 Feb @ 8:46am
Are corpses also get hidden by the snow?
Mlie  [author] 7 Feb @ 2:03pm
@Talvi Jam Campfires work with no issues with only this mod loaded. Your problem is due to some other mod-conflict
Dizzy Ioeuy 26 Jan @ 9:07pm
Cool, ty!
Mlie  [author] 26 Jan @ 12:52pm
@Dizzy Ioeuy Items in storage-buildings should no longer get covered in snow
Dizzy Ioeuy 25 Jan @ 10:14pm
for now I just turn off the stockpile when it's snowed over. :)
Mlie  [author] 25 Jan @ 10:03pm
@Dizzy Ioeuy Yes, since you are adding bricks on top of the snow and the game cannot have more than a stack per tile when the snow melts, it will place them near when spawning.
However it should not happen in a storage building. Ill fix that.
Dizzy Ioeuy 25 Jan @ 9:55pm
Couple of problems:

Zone outside full of stonebricks. Gets covered up. They disappear... Good so far.

My people start putting new bricks there. Which displaces those that "disappeared" so when they get uncovered the pop up all around and outside the stockpile zone.

Same thing happening with other items in shelves outside- the snow is covering them up and they start putting new items on the same shelf.

хаха, крутой мод! удивительно что тайнен до сих пор не добавил такое очевидное нововведение...
Nightcrawler_117 14 Dec, 2024 @ 3:20pm
Could you possibly add a "Clear Snow/Sand" command while drafted?

Gets frustrating, real fast, having to wait for the caravan to passively clear snow from the battlefield with a raid timer telling me 8 gorrillion pigmen are on the way to kindly smash their pretty little heads in :HEALTHFUL:
Black★Rock Shooter 14 Dec, 2024 @ 1:02pm
Nice sandstorm add-on too. o7 this is pretty cool
Mbos 14 Dec, 2024 @ 12:30pm
Awesome Thanks.
Mlie  [author] 14 Dec, 2024 @ 11:53am
@Mbos Sure, should be added now
Mlie  [author] 14 Dec, 2024 @ 4:29am
@Mbos I guess, could you link to that mod?
Mbos 14 Dec, 2024 @ 4:05am
Would it be possible for this to also work with the sandstorm mod?
(As in instead of snow sand covers items.)
Hykal 13 Dec, 2024 @ 7:25pm
Always impressed by your willingness not only to adopt dead mods but also make new stuff, Mlie.
the oneders 13 Dec, 2024 @ 4:26pm
Great idea!
John DeWolf 12 Dec, 2024 @ 10:11pm
Thank you for the clarification.
Mlie  [author] 12 Dec, 2024 @ 10:09pm
@John DeWolf They get buried when the snow height crosses over the limit in the mod settings. So just dropping an item on snow does not cover it, it also has to snow enough.
Wiseman05 12 Dec, 2024 @ 9:18pm
If the game doesn't tick them as being there when they're buried, and you set the deterioration rate to 0%, I wonder if you've created a winter-based improvement mod lol.
John DeWolf 12 Dec, 2024 @ 5:23pm
So the main thing I am wondering is, do items falling on the ground get immediately buried or does the weather need to change to snowing or something first?
Mlie  [author] 12 Dec, 2024 @ 10:08am
@SilkMoth The extra calculations should not be noticable, and I guess since the items despawn while covered they will lower the amount of items to handle each game tick.
SilkMoth 12 Dec, 2024 @ 9:56am
how does this impact preformace? does hiding items like that imporve the preformance?
Sumatris 12 Dec, 2024 @ 8:59am
That whole thing about corpses under snow being unaffected by the Deathpall reminds of World War Z (the book, not the movie), where regions like Greenland would be safe in winter but turn into no-go zones once the temperatures rise enough for all the frozen zombies to thaw out. Can't wait to add this to with my next colony :-).
Garlic 11 Dec, 2024 @ 9:19pm
It's neat but weird feature to have it as a mod. If it was vanilla, sure. It adds the game quality. But as for mod? Hmm... but I hope Tynan integrate this.
SoakieCat 11 Dec, 2024 @ 5:47pm
So true Mlie, you're a god in the modding community so I can't really defy your logic
Mlie  [author] 11 Dec, 2024 @ 3:16pm
@SoakieCat Why not
SoakieCat 11 Dec, 2024 @ 3:05pm
But why
Mlie  [author] 11 Dec, 2024 @ 10:42am
@Bag_of_leaves Since they despawn they are technically not there until the snow is gone. So no rising bodies. But I could probably add it as a mod option if you want?
Bag_of_leaves 11 Dec, 2024 @ 10:37am
Do snow covered corpses rise under a death pall? Or does snow 'protect' them from it? Awesome either way
Fred_Flo 10 Dec, 2024 @ 10:31am
@Mlie a hibernating gene would be pretty cool
ColossalFossil 10 Dec, 2024 @ 10:25am
That is an interesting concept about the corpses though. Even if it were visually covered with no additional effects.

"What's the lump over there in the snow?"

"That? Oh, that's just Fred. We're going to resurrect him after the spring thaw."
Mlie  [author] 10 Dec, 2024 @ 9:23am
@Lionhardt As mentioned above, they will be found again when the snow melts
Lionhardt 10 Dec, 2024 @ 9:05am
So what happens when the snow melts naturally over the seasons? Do they get uncovered again or are they lost?
Alexander The Great 10 Dec, 2024 @ 6:14am
incredible mod man
Mlie  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 10:08pm
@Fred_Flow No, it only affects items, so corpses not living pawns.
I think stasis sounds like a nice idea but it would probably make more sense as a feature of like a hibernating xenotype race instead
Fred_Flo 9 Dec, 2024 @ 3:21pm
Great work as always. Does this affect downed pawns?
Would be pretty cool if there's a chance of a pawn buried in snow entering some kind of stasis instead of just getting hypothermia. Maybe depending on their consciousness or something.
Ja'far 9 Dec, 2024 @ 10:53am
that's impressive
Mlie  [author] 8 Dec, 2024 @ 5:19am
@Ja'far Should not be noticeable at all
Ja'far 8 Dec, 2024 @ 5:16am
how much does this mod affect performance?
banger mod btw
Mlie  [author] 8 Dec, 2024 @ 4:11am
@llunak Added an option to set deterioration rate, hope it helps!
