For true mechhive gameplay you need some moded mech for jobs that vanilla mech can't do(Like research e.t.c.).
You pick 1 gemophage with mechlink(or not. Just place Gestal right after start) and 1-2 Gestalt. And then you build starting base. Place Gestalt. Gestalt take's control over the all mech. You place you gemophage in Torpor and don't wake him up. Game don't consider this as a loss and you can play only with mechs.

Profit?! O_o

Oh I see the confusion here, the original gestalt engine mod got handed over to a new person so the mod got reuploaded. I fixed the required items, hope it helps.

The persona core is so that you can build the Gestalt Engine. Unless there's a mod setting to tweak it or the mod got updated, last I knew you needed one to build it. So you could save it for later tech but that means no gestalt engine.

Quite a fun run here! I must ask though, what is the purpose of the persona core?

Yeah. Thanks for the response anyway though. <3

Some tips for a run like this, that I've learned

- Plasteel is extremely precious
- Getting firefoam is very important
- For early defense, i recommend researching gun turrets.
- You cannot make basic subcores without a mechanitor
- The mechanoid biome from alpha biomes is a great starting location for this kind of run
- Prioritize making a medium subcore encoder and scanning someone's brain, a tunnelling mechanoid is going to help a lot in more mountainous regions.
