I spawned this guy into my current run, and I've been having lots of fun with it! The only thing I changed was switching out the laser turrets for gats instead, just because the ammo is less expensive and I believe they use less power/CPU, and I'm not using this to directly take on POIs. I'll probably install some mining lasers at some point, too, but for now, this is functioning as an exploration vessel, operating from my carrier as a home base, and it's working wonderfully. The only thing I wish it had was a long-range scanner to more easily/quickly scan space, but I don't see how one would fit on this little guy.
Overall, he's small and has 99% of what I need/want, which is just how I like my ships. And he still has his anti-claustrophobic windows and glass floor, yay! :D
I know what a pain it can be to enlarge a ship and keep the same style overall.
Great Job.
Love the Turbine placement.
Looks great.
It’s HeckenDiver! Thank you for the kind words— coming from a fellow designer, they mean a lot.
The before & after GIFs are made in Photoshop using frame transitions between the two photos. As for the turntable…
1. Use a joystick (e.g., Xbox controller) for smooth, consistent model rotation (mice are unreliable). Record your video and loop it in your favorite media editor.
2. Export the GIF using Photoshop, or export to a JPG image sequence and build it using ezgif.com . Either way, you need to get it under 5MB, which may require reducing framerate, color-table, or applying LZW compression.
3. For custom Steam-hosted images, upload them as “unlisted” in your profile’s Artwork Section, then copy the URL once accepted.
4. Check out Steam Syntax Formatting . Use [img] tags to embed the images, and other tags to improve readability and avoid a wall of text.
Lastly, less is more. Trim your gallery to the essentials, and create a narrative: start outside, move inward, highlight key areas. Think of the gallery as a trailer— show enough to intrigue; you don’t need to tell the whole story, just enough to get them interested.
Question: Whats up with the cool resources page? Is that a site or mod... addon?
Your eyes are good; the mobile base is still a work in progress, but it’s getting close. It will be the “Manta” once released.
