When I assemble a spear with a forged metal head, the head condition of the spear starts at around 10 %. Almost like the condition of an assembled spear uses the stats from vanilla or something like that. I use hardened.
Legion6429 25 Feb @ 10:28am
Hi, been using your mod and it's great, working perfectly apart from when I try and create a campfire, the stones don't register on the build menu, even though I have them in my inventory and everything else needed?
Red Rocket.TTV 27 Jan @ 3:00am
Update? :D
BakerBochMod 23 Jan @ 4:00pm
So, author, what you're trying to say is... ?
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 23 Jan @ 9:58am
@Doctor X
HeadCondition have the same values of ConditionMax
BakerBochMod 22 Jan @ 11:49pm
EMMM......Where is the Head Condition
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 9 Jan @ 4:58am
@angel05
If you have any mod that is likely to change vanilla item (like Common Sense for the crowbar), I recommend to load my mod before them (check mod load order list)
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 9 Jan @ 4:58am
@JKNOX23 ty
@poopsock not planned, I believe someone will make a mod
poopsock 8 Jan @ 3:20am
Would it be possible to increase the durability of the gas mask filters too? I know theres a bug that lets them reset after taking it off and reattaching it, but the filter still runs out super quickly.
JKNOX23 7 Jan @ 2:01pm
I believe that the "lever" might be the Crowbar
angel05 7 Jan @ 2:41am
Hello, I wanted to comment if you can't download one more option because I have soft and the lever, for example, lasts a lot longer than vanilla and is broken. I hope you understand I am using a translator, great job thanks for the mod.
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 6 Jan @ 5:02am
you might be right on this one @9Three
I'll wait more feedback to make update now, I dont want to spam workshop upload, but noted
9Three 5 Jan @ 6:10pm
great mod, killed me bout 108 zombs before a horde got me, using a Wrench, and it was about less then 50% used.... i would say even on Normal, the wrench shouldnt get "used up". IRL i have a sweet 2 foot long wrench, i dont think any amount of skull wacks would ever break it. i might have to change to Hardened for better immersion. lulz.
Le Green Bastard 5 Jan @ 7:03am
this mod is amazing, thank you so much.
It's very balanced for my difficulty
kArMaFPS 4 Jan @ 12:21pm
https://imgur.com/l9qZl0a -> Context: I killed 18 zombies with a small paring knife and it was durable enough to kill about 40 more, I'm playing in soft mode and it's still unbalanced, your idea is cool because the vanilla has flaws, but you need to get a balance or really create a realistic mode, second chance that I'm testing and I'll wait, maybe your proposal isn't the same or I don't like it, and that's ok. I'll disable it for now, but great work so far my friend
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 4 Jan @ 9:30am
@kArMaFPS
yes try to enable his mod after mine, tooltip on crowbar in game should be saying (in blue) that Bravens overide my mod and vanilla PZ
kArMaFPS 3 Jan @ 1:07pm
I compared the vanilla wear with the wear from your mod, using the normal (realistic) setting, I still found the vanilla wear to be more realistic. My biggest problem is breaking down doors with Braven's common sense and not wearing out the crowbar, this is frustrating.
kArMaFPS 3 Jan @ 1:06pm
I have been loading the mods automatically, do you suggest loading your mod before the braven mods?
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 3 Jan @ 6:35am
@kArMaFPS
try to change mod load order when enabling mods, make Bravens mods priority over mine
you literally removed the mod from your save, idk if we can call it a bug. If someone just want to exploit and break the game like you said, by removing and adding it back to his save; I dont care, I'll just say that -debug is faster...
kArMaFPS 2 Jan @ 8:37pm
And another detail that might be a bug... When I removed your mod during my save, my weapons that were attached to the mod returned to 100% durability (Maybe it's a break when removing the mod, but that opens up precedents for an exploit, after all, I can remove it to gain durability and put it back in my save, right?)
kArMaFPS 2 Jan @ 8:35pm
@fucked Normal, close to realism? I have a metal pipe and I killed 68 zombies and the pipe consumed 15% of its condition with maintenance level 1 (Leveling up the maintenance skill serves exactly to maintain realism and preserve your tools). Your mod has a cool idea, but poorly executed, I tested it for a few hours and it's already obsolete on my list, but if you persist in the work maybe you'll find a balance. I'll give examples (I use Braven's common sense, which makes the crowbar be used to break down doors, but the crowbar doesn't wear out when the action is performed, how about using the mod to take away its infinite durability?)... The same goes for simple lockpicking, which uses the screwdriver + paper clips but doesn't take away the durability of the screwdriver, how about that? If you want ideas on how to make what you've already done interesting, I can help with my daily zomboid hours

Stay strong bro, good work for now.
Mustang 28 Dec, 2024 @ 1:42pm
Nice, they really messed up the weapons durability , iv found a 100% durability axe and guess what it got destroyed in like 10 hits... what is this.
Xander 28 Dec, 2024 @ 12:21pm
@fucked

thanks for the quick update and giving us the ability to enable/disable firearms if needed, appreciate it! :steamthumbsup:
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 9:08am
for those who updated from previous version
- if you had other firearm mod already enabled : you good to go
- if you dont had any firearm mod enabled and just want durable vanilla firearms : enable the new mod DTW firearm to your save
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 8:50am
@Nerezza
fixed some stab values, ty

@Xander @TooDangerousForPants
indeed, some firearm mod are writting over vanilla weapon too... didn't realise because I've only tested new firearms (ak47 and such) and not vanilla ones, thats why I thought they were compatible. ty for the details!
my bad guys

whatever, I updated the mod, firearms are now excluded and can be activated separately
Xander 28 Dec, 2024 @ 2:48am
Btw, it's a great mod. Could we potentially bug you enough to release a "Durable Tools & Weapons" without firearms?
Xander 28 Dec, 2024 @ 2:41am
@fucked

This mod seems like it's a little bit incompatible with Rain's firearms mod. Visually, the models do not align with most of the guns and Rains parts such as suppressors on the Beretta M92F and Desert Eagle, as well as the Lone Ranger, etc.

Not sure if stats wise things are not as intended as well, as Rains firearms mod makes modifications to the guns themselves as well. When checking the firearm, it says its your mods version of the firearm so I would assume most of Rains modifications are being overwritten.
Nerezza 27 Dec, 2024 @ 7:28pm
Your Soft version has actually lowered the vanilla max conditions for the Multitool and Handiknife from 10 to 6.

Since they were already fragile as tools in vanilla (opening cans breaks them quickly, hooray) this is a pretty big difference.
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 26 Dec, 2024 @ 12:55pm
@cosmic
the mod is only for b42, it is not tagged for b41 either...
cosmic 26 Dec, 2024 @ 12:22pm
this mod broke all tools, hammers, screwdrivers, machetes, crowbars etc. on b41.

items lose their menu icons, if attached, the toolbar slot disappears, and if equipped will ctd a single player game.

not a particularly compatible mod.
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 25 Dec, 2024 @ 12:31pm
@TooDangerousForPants
just tried Rains firearms mod, I was able to fully mod 4 weapons, kill few zombies, no errors. DTW dont change any items related from other mods for now.

@imdaintmu
spawned all machetes, no issues.

@Stealth
I wrote % but indeed its not correct, for metal bar, you have 1 chance in 15 to lower the weapon condition -1 hp from max HP. DTW increase these values, so yes more durable. I have corrected the description
Stealth 25 Dec, 2024 @ 11:25am
I'm a little confused looking at your chart. For the lower chance it says % but this is a 1 in x value, right? So 40 is 1 in 40 and not 40%? Your mod makes the chances to lose durability less likely, correct?
imdaintmu 25 Dec, 2024 @ 10:35am
the machete has no texture
TooDangerousForPants 25 Dec, 2024 @ 8:45am
This mod seems to break Rains firearm parts, something to do with how firearms are modified, other durability changing mods do not break it. Hopefully this helps others troubleshoot much quicker.
pimatstudio 24 Dec, 2024 @ 4:40am
Yeah, I wasn't able to even start the game on soft (After loading there was only dark screen, had to ctrl+alt+del. to get out), thank you author for the fixing!
black_rose 23 Dec, 2024 @ 5:54pm
thanks for the quick fix@
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 23 Dec, 2024 @ 4:37pm
@black_rose @Sair
fixed it, you can switch back on soft after updating
black_rose 23 Dec, 2024 @ 2:22pm
yep, getting errors with soft too.
Sair 23 Dec, 2024 @ 1:37pm
Soft version is giving me a ton of errors and eventually crashes. Normal works fine.
Str1k3s 23 Dec, 2024 @ 1:21pm
Best mod ever!:steamthumbsup:
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 23 Dec, 2024 @ 8:19am
@Paulo2400
yes you can change mid game, it may affect only undiscovered items (not spawned)
Paulo2400 23 Dec, 2024 @ 8:00am
Great mod. Works perfectly. I chose hardened, but is maybe a bit too OP. :-) Can I change it mid game to normal?
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 23 Dec, 2024 @ 7:20am
@Elsecreto
I nerfed alot firearms, it should make sense now
if some ppl still want them separate, i ll do
El secreto de Kukin 22 Dec, 2024 @ 6:14pm
Can you separate melee and guns? That would be great
Wilku21 21 Dec, 2024 @ 8:34pm
Great, I was looking for something like this!
Crashdown 21 Dec, 2024 @ 5:10pm
Awesome. Thanks!
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 4:50pm
@Crashdown
hardened version for op durability, normal for realistic, soft for vanilla-like
Crashdown 21 Dec, 2024 @ 4:15pm
I'm so sorry I'm a lil confused after your new update. To simplify for my stupid brain, which version makes weapons THE MOST DURABLE (like OP durability)?
♥♥♥♥♥♥  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 2:15pm
@Coconutsales
after a look, his values were pretty high, my mod is the between vanilla and his mod
whatever, I made 2 other version of it (-35% / +75% from normal DTW)
Coconutsales 20 Dec, 2024 @ 11:50am
Oh I love this.

I rand with Realistic Durabilities in B41 and I'm definitely feeling the differences, even with this mod.

I wonder, is it possible you could potentially do an update of its values? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095810873

I know it's not your mod, and this one was a personal project, but I miss running with those durability values :lunar2020ratinablanket:
