I'll have a look on the weekend
Thank you very much
I absolutely love the map, and it's spurred all these creative ideas! So thank you!
Hey!, I will gladly share the scripts, and it is absolutely my intention to do so, but not until they are done and bug tested in multiplayer. The scale of it has gone up a bit... I've got functional moon gravity for both objects and players, as well as making spacebar do a fun moon jump for players. That wasn't enough for me, and I've cooked a space suit script that tracks oxygen percentage and suit pressure. When you get shot, the oxygen drains out of your suit faster, displaying particle VFX, and you can patch it up with duct tape... I'm currently working on functional airlocks that track the external pressure of the player... yeah I'm cooked lol
I have gone a bit overboard with it because I've been having fun making it, and I am looking forward to releasing it once I have used it for my unit in a couple of weeks time! I'll post it here, and share it with Luriss if they want to link it with the map too. Cheers
Please consider it.
No, that issue is on ace's end.
I have made a low gravity script and got around the issue with setAnimSpeedCoef by setting it on-frame and the effect is incredible. Thanks for the fantastic map, I love the work you've done with the skybox!! Cheers
@Jace Iirc setAnimSpeedCoef doesn't play nice with ace, causes the reset your getting
I'm trying to write my own moon gravity script, but the animation speed keeps getting reset back to 1.0
Any idea what's causing that? Thanks!
I understand that it would not be possible for now.
However, I now remember that there is an interesting mod, which uses a similar effect: "Remnant".
It would be interesting if someone with knowledge of scripts could explore that example.
I myself sent a query to the author of that mod about the subject, I am afraid that the author is no longer very active in the ARMA community.
@Vectif I did see something about removing environment sounds, but I put it on the back burner to deal with other stuff, I might have another look at it now
@AccuracyThruVolume It's just a 2000m radius circle with an image slapped on the front. Make your own with whatever texture you want and set it as the moonObject in your terrain config.
Thanks, I did a test and it is an alternative.
Now, in the REMNANT mod, the author manages to make the ghosts levitate in an animation that could be close to the lunar gravity effect.
I don't know how he does it, I've asked him and I'm waiting for his answer.
Its that Soviets are up there and the Moon needs liberated
I hope you can find a way, best regards
@dansondelta47
I did a cursory look into lowering gravity a bit, but that kind of thing would be a whole project in and of itself. Aiui (though there's a good chance I'm wrong) gravity in arma works on a per object basis and the gravity value itself is hard coded, or something to that effect.
I might have another look at it but I doubt I'm going to be able to implement it.
I hope the author is interested.
But if you want you can share it with me.
I posted a zero gravity mission using a script from another author, but it works only in single player and for the player only.
