@Eternal The spartans are considered Boons, so you can turn them off in the Firefight Settings.
Sandtrap:
I really feel like this map is not being used to its fullest potential. The weapon and vehicles available to the player is extremely limited. This is my proposal for for upgrading it:
Make Sandtrap a vehicle heavy map. Modded firefight maps with LOTS of vehicular combat are almost non-existent. You could add hornets, banshees, a scorpion, and all three hog variants. And why not include the Elephant? This would be the PERFECT map for open warfare.
To keep it fun and interesting, have the enemy phantoms drop of LOTS of wraiths and frequently send banshees to attack the player as a hazard. (But allow the banshees to be hijackable) Maybe if a player gets in a hornet or banshee, enemies could deploy anti-air wraiths to intercept the player (via script or something). This bonus idea might sound wild, but I'd go as far to say that flyable dropships could work in theory IF they're made destructible.
The non-phantom spawns on this one are incredible. Having them drop-down from the cliffs is a really cool, and their distance from the ones that spawn on the shoreline kind of makes it feel like each wave has 2 parts.
Sandtrap:
I feel like this map is too big for firefight. Not only because of outright size, but also because of all of the enterable structures.
It's also unintentionally easier than all the other maps. The distance of the enemy spawns from eachother makes them easier to deal with, and once the players take one of the wraiths they have more than enough space to maneuver around and never die.
I'd recommend adding explosives-wielding enemies or non-hijackable banshees to the hazards to balance it out if you can.
I'd recommend changing the non-phantom and no-vehicle spawn locations to either the gorges, or to inside the buildings. The current spawns feel too close and in-view, and having a further spawn location would make the shade turret a bit more useful.
I'm actually kind of salty about this map's inclusion, since I was in the process of porting it myself, but was clearly too slow about it.
Isolation:
Most fun I've ever had playing on isolation.
Sometimes enemies get lost in the caves, but I don't think there's a way to fix that without sacrificing the layout. Maybe remove the ai zone in the very center of caves?
On Flood waves the fog is way too thick. I could only see enemies in plasma rifle range. I'm assuming that the map has a base layer of fog, and the Flood fog effect is increasing off of that?
General compliments:
-Really appreciate all the warthogs, ghosts, and wraiths present. I think the almost complete lack of vehicles is the biggest weakness of the base game's firefight maps.
-Getting to fight somewhere other than a city-street or a military base is greatly appreciated
-The random spartans are great. I disagree with everyone asking for more spartans, but kind of agree that the 2 marines feel weak in comparison.
-I like your placements of health-packs and the SPNKR ammo
-Disabling grav-lifts, man-cannons, and gates was a good choice.
I have some map-specific gripes I want to share though:
Avalanche:
The 2-polar layout is both interesting and slightly annoying. Lots of fun on the warthog though.
