ya. it seems to be working fine for weapons core. but i agree. weapons core just feels...bad to use. like it works when it wants to. but not many weapon mods dont use weapons core sadly.

Not a bug. Not really a feature either. More of a pleasant surprise. I didn't go out of my way to add any handling for WeaponCore. The mod doesn't even look for it. I just added that to the description because WC's default beahavior leaves an awful taste in my mouth. That being said, I'm not the kind of girl to hobble my code because of petty disagreements. So long as WeaponCore (and mods that use it) respect the world's infinite ammo setting, this mod *should* work with it.

The important code for this mod is literally one line calling the ModAPI to change a world bool. Because this mod depends only on internal keen code, this mod should ALWAYS work. If it breaks in vanilla, I'll fix it. If it breaks with WC enabled but works in vanilla, blame WC devs.

i dont know if this is a bug or not but this mod does work for weapons core. i can put any weapon on any ship/station and it works perfectly. absolutely outstanding mod.

Jesus H Bruce Lee Christ... I think I remember why I used to disable comments. This kind of bullsh|t is exhausting to read, let alone engage with. VS-lockon is a living example of the phrase "walking mass of negative neural energy" and I have no more time or energy to waste on them. Tbh this just seems like an excuse for them to b|tch and whine about me releasing a mod to make the game EASIER instead of HARDER.

@AresWalker See, it's funny because this mod just toggles a world bool. I haven't looked into WC or V+'s frameworks in depth (although V+ looks promising from the instances I've seen of its use) but as long as those frameworks obey "InfiniteAmmo" in your Sandbox.sbc, there shouldn't be a *need* for me to explicitly add "support" for them.

I could upload a "WeaponCore compatibility patch" to make the WCriers happy and it'd literally just be a one line comment about how gullible WC shills are. My (granted, very brief) testing with both WeaponCore and Vanilla+ seems to show that they both work with this mod, so... Unless someone shows me that it doesn't work, I got nothin'.

Btw, testing identical local worlds with the only difference being the WeaponCore vs Vanilla+ vs Vanilla combat mod setup, and WC's world is eating a whole .4-.6 sim speed more than Vanilla and Vanilla+. Do you likey to do the walky in the slow moty jelly???

Obv no WC port (I do not like WC either) but with that said there is another weapon framework out there: Vanilla+ does this happen to work with those mods and if not maybe possibly if you have the time and energy do a port? If not no big deal just wondering.

From my experience testing with cheat batteries, Defense Shields does block damage until they collapse. Occasionally one or two blocks may slip through and disappear (the nukes aren't coded to use deformation because lag), but I can honestly write that off as shield bleedthrough. It's not like bleedthrough isn't already a feature anyway.

[1/3] My guy, WeaponCore IS dogsh|t. If "a lot of ppl" are calling it that, it's probably less "user error" and more "terrible product". You shouldn't have to be a genius to figure out that having a default setting that removes "incompatible" weapons is absolutely awful in terms of both design and user experience. I shouldn't have to install a "vanilla weapon replacement" because WeaponCore shouldn't tamper with the vanilla weapons in a destructive fashion. The fact that it does so is unforgiveable. The fact that it then proceeds to DELETE them without even asking me if I'm good with it is downright abominable.

also if you turrets not working after installing vanilla weapon replacement turrets still not working you might have them set only fire at locked on target you need change the ai behavior in theit self turrets

what do i mean Defense Shields in "Defense Shields code if you place down one block in Defense Shields mod you see that Defense Shields code is made for energy and ballistic aka kinetic.

Yes, there's a Star Trek WeaponCore mod. And because it uses WeaponCore, I don't use it. @VS-lockon [2/2] I happen to like the directness of the vanilla targeting, and I ALWAYS play with the Defense Shields mod, as well as cheat gyro, cheat lights, cheat power, nuclear engines, nuclear weapons, bigger explosions, kinetic devastation, and the aforementioned Star Trek mods. Add the whole MES, EEM, and AIEnabled suite, and I've got the perfect setup for Star Trek simulation.

(Also, Defense Shields does not require WeaponCore. I use it without WeaponCore all the time and it works flawlessly. No WeaponCore dependency is listed on the workshop page, and to my knowledge, no WeaponCore dependency is mentioned in the description. Please stop spreading misinformation.)

@VS-lockon You're missing the point. I don't /want/ to make a laser weapon with WeaponCore. I don't want to make ANYTHING that uses WeaponCore. I don't want my name associated with a mod that removes weapons from grids as default behavior. If you can't see why WeaponCore removing weapons from grids as default behavior is a problem, then I can't help you. We already have anti-missile defense in the vanilla game (turrets can target missiles) and we already have kinetic weapons (rockets, missile turrets, the big boomers added with the combat update, etc) Energy weapons have been made without WeaponCore. I use two non-WeaponCore Star Trek weapon packs myself. [1/2]

@VS-lockon With that logic, why not just make /my own/ WC laser that makes ammo from power?

Because WeaponCore is sh|t. I don't understand why people support it. It removes non-WC weapons from your grids and enabling "unsupported mode" leads to the turrets never firing. Vanilla+ is objectively superior for the simple reason that it doesn't do that asinine bullsh|t. I do not and will never support WeaponCore.
