As for icons you have to add in every unit you added within the <unit> line, a line with their respective icon like so: icon="Units/SpaceMarines/Apothecary"

so togehter each unit you added should have something like this in their file entry: <unit icon="Units/SpaceMarines/Apothecary"> (just change the unit and faction name to whichever unit you are editing ofc)

You need to do 2 things to make it work, in language files (Units) you need to add every unit you added to astra militarum, so you need to copy all the units names and descriptions and paste them in your language file but change their faction to astra militarum

To clarify, it shows a square box with a ? above the units head after I recruit them, rather than their proper unit icon.

Bluu, I was wondering if I could get your assistance on something. I'm trying to add Battle Sisters, Tactical Space Marines, and Dominions as recruitable for Astra Militarum for my own private use (I figure it's lore friendly), and I know how to make it so that I can actually recruit them from the Imperial Barracks and change their stats so I use food/ore to recruit rather than Requisitions. Also, I figured out how to make it so that when I click their icon to recruit them from the Imperial Barracks it shows the proper UNIT ICON.

But, after I recruit them it shows a question mark where their unit icon should be and for some reason where their name is supposed to be, like "Tactical Space Marines," is also just a question mark. How do I make it so that after I recruit them, their proper icons and names show??

Yeah lol I figured the veterans would be more difficult, since the power fist is part of their unit model. It looks like the DK Grenadiers use a lot of the same stuff as Scions/Aquilons/Kasrkins, minus the hot-shot volley and carbines, so it'd be the standard array of weaponry: Sniper, Melta, Plasma, Grenade Launcher, etc. It's not totally needed or anything, but the more variety the better, especially since from what I've seen the various infantry types excel in different roles.

Have you ever considered making a Cadian Castellan?

Grenadiers will have to see if they have any good options, as for veterans I wish but due to their power fist it would be very tricky to do

Also, I looked at stats sheet and Aquilons and Kasrkin marksmen rifles do the same damage, so if the former did less damage - the same as Kasrkin - they'd be less delicate, while also less powerful. I've been using Manticore a lot more recently as a heavy artillery, with your Basilisk's overcharge being a lighter, longer range artillery, like on Tabletop (I think Basilisk has twice the range on TT) and it works great. I REALLY like the Thunderbolt Fury and the Avenger Strike Fighter. I never cared much about gunships, but they're awesome. The Heavy Weapons squads all work well for different purposes, and the Sternguard SMs add a nice bit of useful, interesting variety. I'm still trying to figure out how to integrate them into groupings.

I would say that the Earthshaker Platform seems overpriced for what you get. The Scout Sentinels with Plasmas are OP, but that's basically inevitable with Plasmas.

I've been playing on impossible, so Idk how the balance would be otherwise.

Hey Bluu, it's been a bit, but I've used a lot of your units extensively now. From what I've found, the Tempestus Aquilons are highly effective, however, when they only have 12 health and go against any non-melee based faction, it's easy for them to get slaughtered like nothing since their armor bonus doesn't apply. Nevertheless, 6 plasma gunners or 6 melta gunners is OP with higher health. What do you think of fewer men in a squad (less firepower) but more health, around 15, like the Elysian troops?

Quick note, I had to change the file name for Earthshaker Cannon Extra Charge due to it sharing name with Minotaur's Earthshaker Cannons, so after this update old games might crash

Also I decided to decrease the armor penetration on the extra charge to standard levels

@BlissDefiler, i have always been a Ultra Marines fan so for me they are my favorite along with Chaos and many decades later the Sisters Of Battle who are on the same level as the Ultra Marines for me now. Love the Black Legion and Word Bearers as my favorites for Chaos along with Abbaddon (Ezekyle) who i found a very interesting Chaos character who may actually still be loyal to the Emperor.

@Hellbishop In particular, I'd say my favorite unit out of any in 40k are the Tempestus Scions, and Bluu is doing absolutely amazing work with them and the Aquilons. The artillery is great, which is something SMs seem to really lack. I can't wait to try out the new Earthshaker platforms Bluu added.

Just read this about a conflict with DOC'S SCRAPYARD UNITS mod. No problem though as Doc is going to rename Plague Marine file. Just putting this here in case there is some connection:

I really like your mod, you add even more variety to the units!
Very fun is the conversion of units to different loadouts. Your work is a piece of art!

May i suggest, what do you think about a Stormsword?
In the lore, it is a conversion of a heavily damaged Shadowsword.
In Gladius, some superheavies on low-HP (maybe 15%) could convert to a Stormsword?
This could be used on a Shadowsword or Stormblade to give a second chance.

@Hellbishop Lol thanks, I play Astra Militarum extensively. I think Bluu does an excellent job at maintaining a balance between making interesting/useful units and making sure their stats are close in line with tabletop 40k, especially with infantry.

@Hellbishop No reason to thank me, I just ask for stuff lol.

The Heavy Weapons Squad is awesome, Bluu. It's definitely not broken, and with only 2 tile fire radius, I get fewer shots in with it than the Fire Support Squad, but it can take like two hits from a Hive Crone versus usually 1 with the FSS, so it balances out. I think that the Basilisk extra charge Gets Super Hot will be fine for most people (Idk how most play). I usually have like 8 squads of Engineers split into 2 groupings (1st Engineers, 2nd Engineers, sometimes 3rd) to continuously repair my armor so even if it did 2 self-damage per shot, which is what I'd probably put it at, it wouldn't cause me significant problems unless my tanks are getting obliterated - like in my current impossible campaign.

Quick update since i noticed i made mistake with the Atlas tow ability, also quickly dropping what i cooked in the meanwhile. As per your request @Relkin43 you have got more Earthshakers ;) , I know it isn't perfect representation but I did what I currently could with it.

@BlissDefiler as requested I increased the size of Heavy Bolter Squad (but also increased their food cost and upkeep a little) and changed the Extra Charge on Earthshaker Cannon (increased min range to 4 and changed the Gets Hot trait for Gets Super Hot, which should double the self damage) if that will be not enough then i will make a custom self damage trait for it.

Also made the Aquilons with Hot-Shot long las, although, well they are as they are, not perfect
