Colonist Wages

Would it be possible to lock only specific colonists to their minimum expected wage from the menu instead of everybody?
soup  [author] 27 Jul @ 12:26pm
ah took a look and i see the problem (maybe!) - it checks the current map for the silver not the real map. do you remember if you were looking on a different map when this happened? maybe a raid map or something similiar?

i’m away for a week so won’t be able to fix it until im back apologies :TheSmiley:

Nice mod jo!

One bug report: sometimes it seems that pawns don't get paid, even if there is enough silver to pay them.

I had some on a caravan, it makes sense for them not to be paid if they're not carrying silver, but the ones at home should be paid still, right? What may be causing this?
Lone_Explorer 21 Jul @ 7:08pm
@soup Something like that, yeah. Either a shelf or machines that a pawn can't take from without paying silver for it first. That way you can set up an internal economy, having your pawns do work for wages that they could spend on things other colonists have made.

I know it's likely not feasible, but it would also be cool to have a system where items made by a pawn are 'owned' by them and have to be bought from another pawn to use them. You could set up shops. Bonus points if it interacts with Hospitality.
soup  [author] 21 Jul @ 10:20am
@nguyenanh2132 should be an easy enough add when i’m free i’ll try add it

@Lone_Explorer are you suggesting something akin to the vending machines that pawns stock and then buy?
WoodOnChubMode 20 Jul @ 6:19am
Hello, this is my first time commenting and I thought @Lone_Explorer had an awesome idea, an internal and external economy would be awesome!
Lone_Explorer 17 Jul @ 3:20pm
In addition to having the colonists being able to buy things from traders, I wonder if it'd be possible to set up systems for pawns to buy things within the colony. If you produce chocolate for instance, can you set it up somehow so they have to pay for it? I'd love to have an internal economy within the colony itself.
nguyenanh2132 17 Jul @ 2:32pm
Is there a way to set another currency as wage? Like gold, or components? I think it would be such a great mod for roleplaying purpose
Bones 11 Jul @ 10:56pm
This feels like it would work great with the freewill mod.
soup  [author] 5 Jul @ 12:26pm
It’s something i can look into at some point but it’ll be a while :TheSmiley:
Nam 30 Jun @ 2:26pm
Would CE compatibility be possible? It would be very cool to see my soldiers auto buy ammo for themself or an ideology specialist job purchase supplies they need like a doctor stocking up on medicine
soup  [author] 27 Jun @ 2:14pm
they shouldn’t
Kaz 27 Jun @ 12:17pm
Do slaves get salarys as well?
Ishchyaboi 26 Jun @ 5:55pm
nice! thanks for the quick turn around!
soup  [author] 26 Jun @ 5:26pm
@Ishchyaboi addicted pawns now buy whatever drugs their addicted to,

e.g addicated to wakeup = buy wakeup :TheSmiley:
soup  [author] 26 Jun @ 2:59pm
but ill try and get those other ones implemented :TheSmiley:
soup  [author] 26 Jun @ 2:58pm
When a trader comes a pawn has a chance to buy a weapon / armour from the current tech level if they've accumulated enough $$$ from their pay checks
Ishchyaboi 25 Jun @ 7:54pm
that last change sounds cool. how does colonists buying armor and weapons work? and would you it be possible to let them buy luxuries like drugs?
gourmands and teetotalers buy high-end food, normal pawns buy soft drugs like alcohol and smokeleaf, while chemical interest pawns buy flake and ya yo.
soup  [author] 25 Jun @ 3:11pm
updated to 1.6
reworked the mod & added bunch of options for wages (only for 1.6!):

Wages are % of wealth
Wage are dependant on skill
Enable minimum working age
Enable retirement age
Wages are based on age
Enable minimum wage
Enable maxmium wage
Auto-increase wages to minimum
Colonists use wages - (they'll buy armour & weapons from traders)

All these are customisation in the mod settings

I think this is mostly everything that was requested by people, with the rework it'll be easier for me to add anything else :TheSmiley:
LifeIsAbxtch 21 Jun @ 5:28pm
hey soup's will you update this mod to 1.6 or at least pass to another modder, I love this mod, god bless your soul...I mean it...
Sofa King 14 Jun @ 6:29am
please add astrocorn when the new dlc drops :csgogun:
LostDragon7 🐲🐉 13 Jun @ 8:01am
Definitely needs a means to toggle who is valid for wages, especially the minimum age (i.e. 18). If, for example, I have a pawn who essentially owns the colony and pays workers, I don't want to have to pay their family (children included) if the colony's wealth is basically their wealth.

Percentage of wealth is a good idea, but having it affect everyone does make it hard for me to use this properly.

I like it enough to keep it around for a more dedicated playstyle run with a slightly different modlist, though.
@TH3_B1G_CH33S3 theres a mod called The Sovereignty - A Faction Expansion, kinda like the IRS.
TH3_B1G_CH33S3 11 Jun @ 6:22am
@Royal Bastard I hope the IRS is a faction so that I can go to war with them
Royal bastard 6 Jun @ 6:42am
Is the IRS mod next?
Tom Trustworthy 23 Apr @ 4:02pm
What do they do with the money?
@NegativeShielding "Ma? I've lived here for 16 years, where's my share for all that time?"

"*brow raised* I fed and clothed you, didn't I?"
NegativeShielding 19 Mar @ 8:40am
Please make a option to set what age pawns start getting paid
Marchiel Lobelia 18 Mar @ 3:22pm
you guys pays your colonist?
sabre 9 Mar @ 12:50pm
Terrible mod I have to pay my sweatshop workers now
Evenko 12 Feb @ 3:59pm
Ionmaster have something nasty in mind.
ionmaster 12 Feb @ 3:20pm
What if... you are able to set wages... by xenotype...
soup  [author] 12 Feb @ 1:40pm
i'll probably do a completely rework when i get around to it with all the features people have been requesting :TheSmiley:
Bozabu 🍂 11 Feb @ 5:51pm
would also love being able to just pay colonists a flat wage rather than a percentage! great mod nonetheless :)
YouKnowWho142 11 Feb @ 12:08pm
This sounds amazing for a mercenary run, what a unique idea for a mod
superawesomegoku 5 Feb @ 1:10pm
@Author it might be a me issue, but thank you for responding and letting me know that its my mods fucking something up.
Good Old Jim 4 Feb @ 7:41pm
Would is be possible to have the wages set to s standard instead of a percent?
Also the ability to exclude some colonists from needing wages would be appreciated.

Was going to use this as a "Lord of the Castle Pawn paying his soldiers" kind of thing but having to update the wages constantly as my wealth goes up from any manner of thing is kind of tedious.
soup  [author] 4 Feb @ 12:02pm
@PegLegNavTTV @superawesomegoku i cannot replicate this:

i start the game spawned ~40 colonists
i scrolled down the menu as there was more than 20 and cant all fit in one part and set all their wages to 200 (i do agree a button to set all would be useful i will do this when i get around to it)
everyone had their wage set
i saved quit the game and reloaded and they still have their wages set

anything im missing to reproduce?
superawesomegoku 3 Feb @ 2:22pm
@PegLegNavTTV yeah I'm having the issue as well, It would help I think if there was a Global Set Wages button on the tab because I think its having issues with pawn amounts greater than 19
PegLegNavTTV 3 Feb @ 5:10am
Hey great mod! I am having one problem though, and it seems like my last 4 people keep having their wages reset to 0.
superawesomegoku 1 Feb @ 8:28pm
Also, would it be possible to tie the mood debuff when it comes to payment/wages to expectations? I had a game start again and every pawn almost instantly broke due to the -50 with the -25 No wages, and the -25 wages too low. (or even better yet allow the mood hit/buff to be editied)
superawesomegoku 1 Feb @ 8:26pm
I'm still capped at 19 out of 20, even after the Fix, Would there be a way to have a "set all wages to X" command within the tab? instead of having to manually edit each pawn's amount 1 by 1 like I'm in excel
Wraith_Magus 1 Feb @ 4:55pm
If you're doing this, you need to add an ability to set prices for meals, including a premium on lavish meals, paying for clothes, and rent for their rooms. I deserve the money because for some reason, I own the workbenches they built and they made the food upon out of crops they grew.
ShadowEater25 1 Feb @ 4:13pm
May there be a way to have taxes instead of payment?
soup  [author] 1 Feb @ 3:15pm
Fixed @superawesomegoku
superawesomegoku 1 Feb @ 1:41pm
For some reason the wage list caps at 19, so due to me having 20 one colonist is livid but I cant select her wage due to this
Meyar 31 Jan @ 10:54am
If you could add an option for 'start/keep colonists at desired wage by default' and add warning letters or something when people are upsetti spaghetti about low wages, that'd be rad. I just had a colonist go on a murderous rampage due to being unpaid.

As a corporate wage slave, I identify with that.
Silent Service 31 Jan @ 6:24am
i was thinkig about a mod like this for years bro!!
Head of Sexcurity 31 Jan @ 3:51am
Would be actually cool, if they had ability to spend money by themselves, by adding vending machines where they, or maybe they could just walk up to caravan trader to buy themselves drugs or lavish food? But I believe thay might be just too hard code, since I know how coding works (just a bit)
still a good mod ngl!
ublba 29 Jan @ 9:45am
А куда они ее потратят? Смысл какой в оплате труда?
