How would I go about making my own adjustments to these files? I feel 300 meters is just too much and wwould instead like to see guns max out around 250 meters for 120 and 125mm cannons to be more like vanilla. This way, AI infantry arent useless who seem to enjoy charging in waves in open fields ignoring cover

As part of another strategy, maybe it's for the best, but this is the Gates of Hell, for God's sake, I recommend reviewing the prices of anti-tank cannon, but not making them free, let them be cheaper, but I know that they are quite powerful compared to ATGMs, but in my opinion, they are too Dear ones. And will you change the unit prices in exchange for action points?

Thanks for your inputs. No attack taken. Keep your test result coming (i need that). i will put notes to check. To put in the picture, range are currently based on calibre only. Consider GPT (which i used to calculate and plug in the data) are nonsense in some part ;)

Okay, if you consider this an attack on your side or hate on your mod, know that I just left a review, we played with friends, 4 people, and all together we thought that this was a flaw or maybe stupid, but we will still continue to play this mod, it really improves WEST 81

@BroDimm Okay, I get it, I don't care about the Javelin, but look at the prices, guns and firing range of some IFVs, but seriously, why does a machine gun, for example, a DShK, shoot further than a 30mm cannon? This is complete nonsense. Or is it made specifically against aircraft at such a range, well, I don't know.

@BroDimm I don't understand the reality of your distance, for example, the BMP 2 has a range of 180 meters, since the range of a regular twin machine gun is several times greater, a vehicle with an ATGM, the Chinese one has a range of 300 meters at its speed, this is an imbalance, try to balance all this, let's say a tank does not shoot as far as an ATGM, but also look at anti-tank guns, why seriously pay 600 HP, for the MT-12 it is better to take a BMP with an ATGM, it is several times better. And reconsider the price of the 120 MM mortar

@lufian try without this mod (west 81 only). Sometimes, issues are inherited from original hotmod / west 81 themselves. Will check that if you can give spesifics (maps, units, doctrines)

@joker i am well aware of the distance of ATGM as you can get sniped often. I will revisit the scaling in the next update. The idea is to make some realistic range but some areas does not fits well to the game and give frustration if i am using real life scaling.

The distance of the machine guns and the main guns of the infantry fighting vehicle is strange, the JAvelin is buggy, as for me, the ATGM that shoots at 300 meters is too huge, I think we need to earn some extra money. The prices for a 120 MM mortar are too high for me, as well as for guns that are not particularly modern, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers are normal and even good, Doctors with artillery are done smartly, it's logical.

i also notice the same with T80UK. I didn't recall anything about modded resupply logic. Let me check. In the meantime, you can disable this mod or delete the 'properties' folder to confirm it is due to this mod issue.Thanks for reporting.

Tried USA, Germany and Soviets......so I'm guessing it effects all nations and all heavy MBT's and ATGM's

Check mod description above (updated). Ensure you have used GOH latest stable version (not beta). If you can't use this then i'm sorry i'm out of ideas since all my friends can use this mod without problem now.

Are you using in game "Extras" menu? if so, try activating west81 and this mod at the same time. If it still does not work, consider to use modmanager/option.set method as described

So at first I loaded in base hot mod only, no other mods, then I loaded west 81, then every time I try to load this mod it causes the game to crash

Yes. I'm using chatGPT to find real weapon range by its caliber. Make a table, then proportionally scale down to what i feel best to fit in the game. I'd say its now about 1.5-2x normal hotmod range. So, if you have 57mm and your enemy has 100mm, chances he can shoot you first now.

Does this also extend weapon range? Since base West 81 and Hotmod have the ranges set to the point where they can breath down eachothers throats.

Compared to original west 81, i try to add more human vision so that infantry in the open can see broader (simulating spotting and communication between units). Tanks should be still somewhat bling (esp without commander) because of that tunnel vision. Encouraging combined arms

Consulted chatgpt for range scaling. It based on real life range but i scale it down properly to match the game engine and to keep it fun.
