I think it'll just add bloat more than anything, it's easier to imagine they just have the GTA IV weapons, plus it fits in more with the Source aesthetic since they're CS:S weapons :)

Most SWEPs don't really work well being used by NPCs, they either give the NPCs ridiculous accuracy (ArcCW), fire too slowly (M9K) or have tend to have missing animations (TFA), but that is just addon creators being lazy most of the time. It is very easy to configure those values in about 30 minutes, at least in my opinion
Vrej just decided I guess to prevent this and made them only use VJ Base weapons, which is a huge missed opportunity

my complaint with vj base is that for some reason vrej thought it would be a good idea to make his npcs work exclusively with vj base npc weapons rather than allow them to use any custom swep.

I like hl resurgence but example with player based relationships I like to play both combine and rebel I switch between you can't do this with hl resurgence. it's a one of issue for me.

Thanks a lot everyone! No, VJ Base isn't bad, it's just that people have no idea how to use it. The most popular S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mutants addon for instance has utterly nightmarish coding and causes errors all the time, but it's the only one, so of course people use it for their SNPCs
If you know how to use VJ Base, you can make something amazing (HL Resurgence is pretty good in my opinion), but if you don't, you'll just make another Combine reskin mod

Honestly maybe this can be sound rude but still today I try to rid of vj base. But half of the workshop use it and thats why I need to keep in my collections. Vj base not bad but have his own problems that I won't like to use.
