for some reason the aux power is pink now

When I have this mod installed during the Highway 17 chapter. When I push the Combine APC off the cliff on the map d2_coast_05 to disable the blue energy barrier blocking the road, the APC falls into the water, but the cable connecting the APC to the power line above doesn't break, leading to the barrier not deactivating and it remains active.

Best HUD mod for Half Life 2 hands down

Very nice mod, compact HUD and nice orange color. recommended

I just checked it out, the RGB values are different from the original 'Pleasant Orange' HUD, maybe the green value is too high, so it stays the normal 'Condensed HUD' yellow.

I'm having the same problem as this guy, it's either yellow, or if I manually install it's just the normal hud but it flashes pink.

actually moving the vpk over to the custom folder doesn't do that, it just acts like installing the workshop mod does (where it's just the yellow condensed hud)

unfortunately installing the mod in the custom folder is what makes it act like the vanilla hud except it flashes pink instead

@The Shotty Seeing as you've already tried every method as you say, your problem most likely lies within how the Workshop is loading the mods. I wouldn't know the specifics of why the Workshop is messing stuff up, but assuming you haven't tried it yet: you can counteract this by instead doing manual installation via the 'custom' folder OR directly replacing the files themselves. I recommend the first method whose further details is listed in this mod's description. Otherwise... I dunno.

coming back to this i have tried literally every method of extracting, repacking, uninstalling the game, trying to combine the pleasant orange hud and the condensed hud myself and literally nothing works - the hud is either yellow condensed or it's the default hud but it flashes pink instead

it works except the ui is still yellow and i have no mods installed

@MyMomSaidImCool Resource Vanilla has specific install instructions for it involving a font file in its description. Load order is irrelevent, as either mod affects different files.
