So, I have an absurd amount of mods installed, but this is not working for me, so if anybody else can confirm if this is working for them on openstarbound that'd be super helpful!

Damn, I forgot. Thank you for mentioning that.

I know you said it earlier in the comments here, but it may be wise to put in the description how to put the mod into the mods directory itself self since not everyone is gonna know out the gate that it wouldn't work normally from the workshop. The Full Bright mod had a how-to in it's mod description, and people are able to read up on it to see how they got that mod working.

Thanks! I'm pretty surprised too lol

oh dang, you actually managed to fix it, incredible
MegaMato  [author] 28 Feb @ 1:22am
Hey btw, if anybody can take a better looking screenshot to describe with the mod does, send it to me. I'm not great at graphic design.
MegaMato  [author] 28 Feb @ 1:07am
Yep! By golly it worked. I think I have eliminated the fullbright effect and now the ambiance is preserved. You are ok with the pale white highlight from an object that can be interacted with aren't you?
Cgoober2000 27 Feb @ 8:26pm
I think the update did help a small bit, but I am unsure if it actually did anything or just wishful thinking and misremembering how bad it was before, either way, it's only really noticeable on the comically large objects like the Hylotl Grand Library bookcases, because only larger objects like that don't fully fit in the scanner beam... basically the real question is, is it possible to entirely remove the scanner glow from already scanned objects, not just the red overlay but also the fullbrighting of the object too.

Worked for me (on oSb)- I didn't try seeing if it worked without copying the .pak over to the mods folder and renaming it after subscribing though.
The game is borderline unplayable without the highlights removed. Thank you bunches lol

It will also work if you copy the 3432675895 folder from the workshop folder steamapps\workshop\content\211820 and put that in the mods folder in the OSB directory. I'll prepare a link though.
Pakari 27 Feb @ 6:20am
I've tried it. Subscribing through the workshop doesn't work. If there is a manually installed version, could you link it in the description?
MegaMato  [author] 27 Feb @ 2:59am
I have been looking at it too much now and I can't tell if I did anything. Let me know if the update fixed/did anything.
MegaMato  [author] 27 Feb @ 1:48am
I'll check it out.

works fine when installed manually, but has the wonky effect of fully lighting up already scanned objects when the scanner is over them.... most noticeable on objects like the large hylotl bookcases in a dark room, though I imagine that such a thing is probably unavoidable.
MegaMato  [author] 23 Feb @ 4:05pm
Yeah it was messing with my eyes too.
JoseR 23 Feb @ 3:44pm
Oh is not a big problem, theres a couple of mods that only work by installing them manually cause starbound is very funky. Thank eitherway for the mod cause the highlights drive me insane sometimes with my poor sight :reheart:
MegaMato  [author] 23 Feb @ 3:35pm
You are right. I had forgotten to test it not installed manually. I'm really out of it today. But yes, can confirm it is not properly working automatically in OSb. This is strange. I am not great at this.
JoseR 23 Feb @ 3:17pm
It works normally in vanilla, but I need to install it manually on OSb, kinda weird but hey it works
JoseR 23 Feb @ 3:15pm
Ok I tried some stuff and I got it work by installing it manually on the mods folder
MegaMato  [author] 23 Feb @ 2:45pm
I found a mistake I made in the metadata file. Maybe that will help. I tried it without any other mods installed but I don't know if I can find the nightly release.
JoseR 23 Feb @ 2:40pm
The title screen file name is different on vanilla starbound and in Openstarbound, thats why if you install a resprite mod for it and the autor hasnt added a copy on the folder with the name that OBs uses it doesnt work
MegaMato  [author] 23 Feb @ 2:31pm
What happens with the title screen?
JoseR 23 Feb @ 2:29pm
Gotcha, I had the same problem in all the variation of this mod on OSb tho, maybe the folder structure is different kinda like what happens with the title screen sprite?
MegaMato  [author] 23 Feb @ 2:26pm
Crud. I'll see if I can figure it out. Let me know if you have any other clues or log info.
JoseR 23 Feb @ 2:08pm
Doesn`t work for me, I tested it with this mod alone on the last nightly of openstarbound
