sounds like a bug but i don't have enough info here
armadillo uses the vanilla rangers' body armor, and it should appear correctly
do you have any other mods enabled?
Alex is a swiss army knife you can find in the credits of most major mods at this point.

subscribe to & download mod
open the game
click on a button in the bottom right corner of main menu
the button reads Mods when hovered over, and it opens the ingame mod manager
enable armadillo
restart game
make a new armadillo unit; the game doesn't automatically create one for you (also applies to other unit mods)
I won't do trooper toolbox, the requirements for it are insane. I might do IGCS though.

it uses the exact same stats as the LICC carbine
short answer: create a new unit
slightly longer answer: go to roster.xml and update the class names
this will allow you to preserve ur current unit and progress
and an explanation ig
i did an update to tidy up the backend, and the class names were changed as part of said update
new class names are:
dillo_class_supervisor
dillo_class_facil
dillo_class_grunt
you can find them in this directory: \steamapps\workshop\content\1239080\3441851058\units\dillo_unit.xml
i'll probably re-add the M500 and the M1014
tho i'll most likely lock the M1014 behind BH

if i do add gilded shadow as single missions, i want to lock it behind clearing the campaign first ngl
