@MarZio ✝ Thanks for the praise!
MarZio 30 Jun @ 4:56am
Nice mod
General Pickles 25 May @ 1:45pm
I'll check them out and then go from there.
Sulla  [author] 25 May @ 1:33am
@General Pickles Honestly I'm not sure how to just add units as mod option but I will certainly think about adding them to the original mod. I much prefer them to the 'barbarian' variants so I'm glad they are being well received. Any others in particular you feel would fit well in the 'Vanilla' style? I'm more than happy for anyone to use my mod as a resource though.
General Pickles 24 May @ 12:19pm
Honestly, either added to the vanilla plus mod or just standalone. Those units are amazing.
Sulla  [author] 24 May @ 8:35am
@General Pickles Do you mean in the Vanilla plus mod? I have been toying with integrating some of the units such as the Nomadic cultures. Some will sort of undo the immersion as they are a later development for some factions/cultures. I haven't had much feedback on either mod though so am hesitant to make too many more changes.
General Pickles 23 May @ 2:06pm
any chance you could have the additional units in the base game? not too sure how it would be implemented though
Sulla  [author] 2 Apr @ 8:48am
@Texian45 They are well beyond the time frame of the mod. Some of the aesthetic could have been taken but I have stated clearly this is not meant to be super accurate.
Texian45 1 Apr @ 1:46pm
idk why you had to remove the old roman units man
Sulla  [author] 27 Mar @ 2:16pm
@little_tsparrow The Family trees could perhaps be expanded a little but it is part of the pressure to keep your 'claimant' alive. It would be an idea if you could have the settlements default to one of the other Roman factions but maybe impossible. I think I have a fix for now regarding development. Thanks again for the patient and feedback.
little_tsparrow 27 Mar @ 2:01pm
Yeah, those cities like Pergamon, Rome, etc., don't have an edict, and anyway, the buildings don't show up when crossing 12 K. Appart from that the hole octavian faction just died out on turn 10, might be some bug
Sulla  [author] 26 Mar @ 2:49pm
@little_tsparrow I think Antioch and certain other 'Key' cities should have unrestricted development with a few recruitment differences. Other can eventually get to level 4 with the right 'edicts'. It is designed to slow the Romans as they start fairly strong. I will check if Antioch was missed off for some reason. Thanks for the feedback.
little_tsparrow 26 Mar @ 2:46pm
I double-checked and there are no edicts for larger cities like Antioch, so those can never expand?
little_tsparrow 26 Mar @ 2:34pm
I see. This could be the issue. What do you need to do to make an edict appear? Overall, this is a great mod—much better than the " Total Conquest!"
Sulla  [author] 26 Mar @ 12:55pm
@little_tsparrow I am having the same CTD on some battles. Not sure what the cause is atm. Every unit was tested several times in custom battles so not sure where the issue is. Never noticed the city development issue. Do you mean it doesn't give a notification? Are you playing as a Roman faction? There are different settlement types, some have a limited development and require 'edicts' to gain an extra level.
little_tsparrow 26 Mar @ 12:30pm
Thanks for making it more stable, it still crashes on battles sometimes.and when a city grows beyong 12 000 people it does not pop up city development upgrade. Or was that intended? Great work!
Sulla  [author] 26 Mar @ 12:24pm
@[BRE] Galaad Glad to hear it! Please let me know if you get any more bugs.
Sulla  [author] 26 Mar @ 12:23pm
@Morrowgan It has to be a little inaccurate due to the need for family member etc. It's not meant to be fully accurate.
McPopcorn 26 Mar @ 4:33am
the crashes have stopped :)
Morrowgan 26 Mar @ 4:04am
Octavian and Antony should be younger at the starting date.
Sulla  [author] 25 Mar @ 2:54pm
@[BRE] Galaad Try the last update. It may mean having to start a new campaign. I am still testing myself so I appreciate your patients and feedback.
McPopcorn 25 Mar @ 1:58pm
@Sulla I don't think so, i press next turn and the game disappears completely and goes to desktop
Sulla  [author] 25 Mar @ 11:50am
@[BRE] Galaad Any error message with it? I will be making a correction to an update shortly if that helps.
Sulla  [author] 25 Mar @ 11:49am
@Lanjane Whoops! Thought I'd removed from the post marian generals. I'll look into fixing it.
little_tsparrow 25 Mar @ 11:09am
game crashes after turn 4 lol. are you guys gonna look into that? otherwise a superb mod! look awesome, i like the extra challenge when half the reich collapses
McPopcorn 25 Mar @ 11:03am
@Sulla honestly it just crashes randomly when playing as Herod
Lanjane 25 Mar @ 4:00am
The last update breaks the game because every faction needs to have at least one unit with general_unit attribute to assign to new generals, and you removed general_unit from every unit
Sulla  [author] 24 Mar @ 1:57pm
@[BRE] Galaad Thanks for the flag I will look into it.
McPopcorn 24 Mar @ 1:32pm
game keeps crashing when the egyptians invade
VersionZero 23 Mar @ 1:53pm
yes
Sulla  [author] 23 Mar @ 1:27pm
@TheWanax I think you mean the slightly curved shaped scutum or early empire? Unfortunately I'm not sure it adds much to include.
VersionZero 23 Mar @ 1:03pm
Like an Augustan scutum for legionaries
Sulla  [author] 23 Mar @ 8:33am
@TheWanax augustan shields? Please elaborate. Glad you enjoy it!
VersionZero 22 Mar @ 4:52pm
only needs augustan shields
VersionZero 22 Mar @ 4:06pm
i love this mod so much omg
Sulla  [author] 22 Mar @ 9:42am
@Z&K You have to set your display settings to realistic and it should work. Thanks for the feedback. I always aim to stick true to the original feel of the base game.
Z&K 21 Mar @ 8:38pm
I really enjoy these alternate campaigns to Rome total war! Is it a bug that all the unit cards are just peasants or are those incomplete? Great work regardless!
Sulla  [author] 21 Mar @ 1:20pm
@StonerSaiyan I will be playing some test campaigns myself so will try to replicate this and get back. Again this is a BETA so there may be bugs I haven't found yet. Thanks for the feedback.
StonerSaiyan 21 Mar @ 12:00pm
I don't really know what i could say that would help haha. I hit end turn, it scrolls through ai turns and crashes once it hits rebels.
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 2:18pm
@Morrowgan Any error message with it? Your strategy was my immediate expectation but that some settlements might rebel.
Morrowgan 20 Mar @ 2:11pm
As Antony I found the public unrest to be managable by immediately building shrines, lowering taxes, moving my capital and recruiting garrison units but I got a CTD just a few turns in
MarZio 20 Mar @ 12:07pm
Yeah, octavian needs to be improved, maybe by adding public order buildings in gaul and hispania cities
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:30am
@TheWanax Thanks for the feedback.
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:29am
@MarZio ✝ As it's stated in the title, this is a BETA. I haven't fully play tested it but felt it was finished enough for the community to try. The starting conditions may be tweaked, but the Roman factions start very strong so making them very stable would pose no real challenge. I will likely add some more units to prevent immediate riots but the territory at this time was new a prone to rioting/rebellion.
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:26am
@zaharoff It's possible to name them anything. Do you mean they are confused in some way or there are inconsistencies in the text somewhere?
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:25am
@StonerSaiyan Is there anything specific to help me with fault finding?
Sulla  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:24am
@Totalste Thanks for the feedback. Wasn't sure if this would generate much interest.
MarZio 20 Mar @ 7:37am
Civil war? more like playing the western roman empire in vanilla Attila, like 7 cities riot inevitably and you're at war with everyone
VersionZero 20 Mar @ 3:16am
good mod
zaharoff 19 Mar @ 11:57pm
Really cool mod, but I would recommend a bit more consistency with faction names - "Antonines", "Octavian", "Sextus". Would "Antonian Rome", "Julian Rome" or "Pompeian Rome", or something like that be possible? Keep up the good work, I'll definitely be checking back!
