Hi, I don't know whether this can be changed or not but i just say it. I played a defensive mission, when i order AI to static defense position that higher than crouch position, sometime (i repeat, sometime, around 30-40% chance) they don't stand up to and just either crouch same height or lying low behind the cover. And their speed of changing from lying to get up and shoot is slow. Most of the time they will decide lay low even though just some bullet whizzing not even close, i think maybe tune the recover rate of suppression faster (or/and lower the rate they decide to get up fight) would help

update 2025-04-25:

- now you dont need to load the addon clientside anymore to have the switch buttons in briefing in MP with dedicated server

- changed condition of AI untiPosbehaviour from Server to Local, because the setUnitPos commands seems to work only local (if you play wiht Headless Client, HC also needs the addon not only server)

- if you play Multiplayer and you have AI in your Group, that AI members are local to your machine and not to server so you also need to run the Addon Clientside if you want that the AI Members of your group also use the Addonbehaviour

so far so good the mod served it purpose, your mod has dragged me back to this game. This stance mod should not be applied only to combat mode (7-3 in Command Control) but it should be also applied for stealth mode (7-1 in Command Control). Because in vanilla game, AI leap frogging with stand stance and run to new place and go prone, this kind of movement will be easily spotted by enemy. It should be replaced with this mod stance, crouch walk -> prone -> crouch walk

new update 2025-04-24: added another switch for now 3 different versions.
- AI get up behind Cover to engage enemy but go down if supressed by enemy fire
- AI get up behind Cover to engage enemy
- AI ignore Cover and always stay low

Hi, new version is great. However, it can be much better if they can hump down when getting shot in cover (or crawling to a cover when being under fire). Currently in new version they don't really care about their life when there are a line of tracer bullets punch through their face when crouching. I think I'm talking about suppression :D I can hope you can tweak it, or if it is impossible, this version is alright

@SPEC default is now the new Version and if you switch to the old version the game saves this setting in your profileNameSpace. So set it one time and it stays until you switch again or change your arma profile.

update 2025-04-24: added switch for 2 different versions.
New: AI get up behind Cover to engage enemy (performance intensive)
Old: AI ignore Cover and stay low

Hi, i like your mod . But this mod has a logical error, it is when I'm in a defense mission, AI behind sandbag whenever spot enemies will immediately go prone, which is an opportunity for enemies to charge forward. If you can think a way to tweak it go prone only when they are getting shot and go crouch again to shoot then it will be perfect (only when they are in defense position like behind sandbag or cover)

Does this work fine with lambs danger? while using both, i think i saw a soldier run 2 steps then prone constantly, but only once, maybe it wasn't because of compatibility issues.

This is excellent - thank you! I usually manually order my squad low or prone, but this works better...faster than my fingers. And to see the enemy AI low or prone moving around adds a lot of realism IMO. I'm using it in solo play of Antistasi Ultimate and it makes the firefights much more interesting. Thanks for the clarification on how to reset the script.

update: if an AI unit stance is explicit set to Up with the gui or _unit setUnitPos "Up" the AI unit will stay Up until the unit stance is set to "Middle", "Down" or "Auto" then the Addon will take back the Stance control

- MDH AI Avoid Laydown -> AI units avoid to lay down on the ground (so they are easier to hit and the aiming of them is not so good because they not lay down on the ground -> easier for players to hit them -> fun play style)

- MDH AI Stay low in Combat -> AI Units in combat situations go down, use kneel stance and lay down on the ground (so they are harder to hit and the aiming of them is better because they lay on the ground -> harder for players to hit them -> more realistic play style)
