For example you could set your primary colour on armour to use hair colour and then you have whatever as secondary but that's it. And this per slot, so your whole cosmetic could be using a bunch of different colours rather than the base 2. But I only recently learned myself that this is an option.
Unless you were to use some kind of custom material, and then you would still be limited to the number of colour selectors. So, I could definitely be wrong or missing something.
Also, do you know of any Dollhouse alternative that lets you independently tint each slot? Its a nice bonus feature.
The alternatives are Customize Soldier Size for the soldier scaling and One Million Colours plus its' WOTC plugin for the fine-tuned color options.
Resizable Armor also works for soldier scaling, as well as being able to scale individual parts, at the cost of not saving any settings to the character pool.
I use neither and i always have access to all part slots on all soldier types, because with the cosmetics i run, every slot will have at least 1 part available for any given soldier type or armor.
Invisible Body Parts for All (like you already mention) is already good enough for this, as it includes a single body part for every slot, soldier, and armor type.
One probably doesn't need IBPFA if they're running DH or UCR, as those mods unlock all the slots by default and have their own options for hiding / removing parts from a slot. Primary exception are the invisible heads, as neither DH or UCR have options for hiding heads.
@Wrath Thanks, glad youre enjoying!
@Jokerke Yeah I didnt put anything underneath, I wasnt sure what style/color people would want so just left it to everyone's imagination lol
Solid work, gg
@Heavy all the classes are now in!
@Sprinkz "to access all the slots for all soldier types (like shoulders/shins on XCOM kevlar), also lets you scale up soldiers a bit so they look more like Astartes. Other mods like Unrestricted Customization should work too."
@Raisen Im not sure whats going on but I was able to get both the eyepiece and a beard. Try reapplying the beard after?
Because when i give it to the Acheran i did, his beard dissapear.
at this rate, are you going to do all the class ? would be insane
@iceman18 No plans for female armor right now. SM2 had Guardsmen that were female but the Guard models are a slightly different scale which I havent played around with yet. And posing the arms takes a while
@tastiger841 Yeah some people have been asking for Chaos but no plans for them or the Rubric Marines right now.
@Wolf Renegade Thanks! Nope, the mod isnt cooked, havent looked into how to do that yet but tastiger841 left a link for me if I ever get around to it lol
Just wondering if you are going to bring some bad boys like Tzeentch to complement World Eaters on the workshop?
@tastiger841 Thanks for the link, thats exactly what I was talking about but couldnt figure out. I knew some other mods were doing something extra, maybe Ill look into it.
There is a method called cooking and you can find the link in this post: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2936278324
There might be overlapping edges.
@tastiger841 Textures are max 1k but there are a lot of them. I already reduced them from 2k. I could reduce further but dont know if people would like the loss of detail. I know there is some way to bake or compress them even further without just cutting resolution but I dont know how.
@ColossusUltra Chapter symbols would be cool but unfortunately no plans for that. There are a few shoulders with symbols in my Deathwatch mod, but they are only on the right side.
The only thing i need is Dreadnoughts to replace the sparks and MECs ♥
Then when exporting choose "Tangent space" in the geometry options (and apply to face... I think).
It needs the model to be all quads/tris but that being a game asset, it should still be the case even with the decimate. Auto smooth does a pretty good job for the most part even without messing with it.
You can then simply re-import that skeletal mesh, you should see the change even without applying any material. With any luck it should look like it does in blender.
@Damwrongname Thanks, glad you like it! My username isnt hidden though, its just generic lol
You can hop onto the xcom2 mod reddit discord if you need help, somebody there will be able to help. That is fixable.
I like it A LOT.
I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
