and for physics to work you need to be within sync/render distance of the blocks which is around which is based on your world setting and what your pc can handle

GenJackO the normal blocks have safety limit of 50 block which is 125m the pulley does work thx to the fact its subparts and pistons (which i originally didn't know) have special self scaling collision boxes you could try create wheeled elevator if you manage to fin some block on workshop that have the size 50 as you would need only about 100 of those to connect the locations ( beyond size 50 you risk the collision to not load at all)

I have no clue cuz... it's a piston and I dunno how keen handles things. I'm pretty sure they aren't meant for such length even as a single piston, let alone connecting multiple. Pretty sure also sync stuff gonna be a big problem on such length's in SP even, let alone MP ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ xD

this inspired me to build a rope elevator up the inside of olympus mons on mars but i am having problems. do you have to be in range for the physics to work correctly? linking 3 together seems to cause issues. i need to move 12 k if i am going to make this work.
