*I know the full license is CC BY-NC-ND, but the No Derivatives is the part that is important for this discussion

Hello there. As far as I am aware, as long as you are not using anything from the VWE mods beyond their def names, such as assets such as code, you don't need any permission to make retextures of them or any mod. However you are always free to ask.

To go into a bit more detail, VWE is under a CC-ND license, however you can typically make sub-mods for their work. Such as I have used their grenade belts code before to make grenade bandoleers, and one mod I like to use expands on their already quite extensive chemfuel mod. The important part to both of these is they don't take and re-upload their work. They either add onto or replace. So as long as the art assets are entirely their's to use, there should be no issues.

And if I am wrong, please someone let me know.

Hello @shazbot, I would like to ask you, did you need to ask permission to retexture weapons from the VE team mods? I'm asking because Halituis Amaricanous made Astronomy Style Pack, and he's afraid to make a retexture of VE weapons, but I wanted to help him.

Tag updated, should no longer look as sus when adding to a modlist

I love these gun styles
shazbot  [author] 11 Jul @ 9:47am
Unless they changed idiology, or VWE changed, it should still work. Going to test it tonight and add the 1.6 tag
1.6 Brother????? Your mod allows you to diversify your weapon options without downloading millions of other guns. Please don't abandon us.
AnotherAlex 19 Jun @ 4:40pm
Thanks for clearing that up
shazbot  [author] 19 Jun @ 4:30pm
None, they add an idiology style. Unless you are asking what has textures, in which case the image above should tell ya.
AnotherAlex 19 Jun @ 8:52am
Question: what texture mods do these guns replace?
shazbot  [author] 10 Jun @ 5:43pm
Apologies for the delayed response, steam ate my last message. I can't quite tell what is going on due to it not exactly telling me more than there is an issue with RimWorld.Dialog_ConfigureIdeo. I would recomend trying to reorder my mod to be above Gun Nut since the core does edit VWE weapons, or teasting it without those mods. I might be able to help with the debug log (C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h)

Hello again, I know what I sent wasnt very helpful, I'm still new to rimworld modding so please forgive me.
I am still having that issue that I mentioned on the 25th but now I have the error report.

Exception filling window for RimWorld.Dialog_ConfigureIdeo: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
[Ref 9BD76D05] Duplicate stacktrace, see ref for original
UnityEngine.StackTraceUtility:ExtractStackTrace ()
(wrapper dynamic-method) MonoMod.Utils.DynamicMethodDefinition:Verse.Log.Error_Patch5 (string)
(wrapper dynamic-method) MonoMod.Utils.DynamicMethodDefinition:Verse.Window.InnerWindowOnGUI_Patch0 (Verse.Window,int)
UnityEngine.GUI:CallWindowDelegate (UnityEngine.GUI/WindowFunction,int,int,UnityEngine.GUISkin,int,single,single,UnityEngine.GUIStyle)

I have this in case this helps.

So in order for this to work, you need to both have ideology, and add the new style to your ideology. Then to edit any existing item you will need a mod like the one linked above
Appleson1 25 May @ 5:59pm
This weapons look great, but I'm running into an issue where when I load the Ideology it doesn't show my what it changes and is completely blank when I hover over the Icon.

I have gunnut if there is any comflicts.

shazbot  [author] 17 Apr @ 7:57pm
Update what? The only change I have made was the full DB was using the wrong icon due to a typo.

OK, let's share some guns.
For Auto pistol: you have the Glock, or TEC-9
Frontier pistol: HK USP
Bullpup AR: SA80 L85A1
Bullpup DMR: Dragunov SVU

Nicee
shazbot  [author] 6 Apr @ 4:05pm
I will mention that I did stick to only Western weapons, which is why the SVU and Groza didn't make it. And wanted to for the most part use new weapons outside a basic few like the M16a2 or the M1911a1, it's why the PDW is a TMP. Although I might convince myself at a later point to make an Eastern/Soviet style as well, as well as testing if I can make multiple colors in one style. Green and purple AKs for everyone!

And thank you all for your support!
s4e1 "box cutter" 6 Apr @ 2:42pm
the AUG I get because it's a green fella, but no Groza? Not even an SVU for the DMR? Authentic tragedy. Good stuff nonetheless.
ZZIDOGZIZZ 6 Apr @ 2:30pm
these look amazing, and though i understand why it still slightly hurts my soul that you un-bullpuped when the AUG and SVU would have fit in perfectly. Despite that they still look impressive and the mod introduced me to a cool game im gonna keep track of, so great job
Addie Van Winters 6 Apr @ 2:00pm
nice work
Fawx 6 Apr @ 1:10pm
