Sorry to hear that, but actually I´m not able to recreate this problems.
I checked all units/Spells out in combat and it´s just running smooth and nice.
So I guess this problems are entirely based on a different mod.
Maybe you could clarify when exactly the slowdowns are happening?
Otherwise I´m not able to help I fear. For this mod there is nothing like constant checks running, only simple ones when using the spells/abilities like "is target entangled" f.e.
I´m not 100% sure what conditions need to be met to get to the point of recruiting the thralls.
I tried to figure out the cause and made some changes, but as the tome is very complex I´m not sure if that´s enough... please test again
Phew when I would have known this amount of work needed, I probably wouldn´t have started with fixing them xD
I might have overseen this unit in my first unit iteration.
Is it crashing or just strongly slowing down.
If crash when exactly is it happening. is the unit created and then crashes, or even before?

Okay I have to admit that I actually like these tomes. Especially the one centered around elementals has some nice ideas and mechanics.
I´ll probably really will care for this mod. Thx for bringing it into my view
Didn´t knew this mod at all. Guess warcraft mentioning shied me away xD
Checked it and mod creator mentioned some conflicts and also that base files were altered.
I try to avoid this as it makes mods unstable und bears danger of unclear incompabilities.
Also the spells are not explained or shown what they do, so I can´t see if the tomes are interesting mechanic wise and this way worth the amount of work.
