Take your time Ralkor. Shanlin doesn't need much, just a special lord that boost animals. But just rip them out if it's a hassle. Don't push yourself, real life is more important.
Yeah spirits of shanlin causing crash on turn 2 for me ...hard crash even when im playing with any other faction

I am dealing with some family issues atm and the mod has taken a back seat, I am still working on it when i have the time. the next step is to completely remove everything but the LL and Cernunnos will likely be deactivated or have more generic buffs. most likely removed as i cant figure out what is broken in the faction.

I am going to try and knock some stuff out over the weekend if I can.

I think the mod will be more compatible with other things once i clean it up.

so much crash going on with this. Sadly, I came to use it for Shianlin but they had to have been removed from some content. So I guess I won't use this, it's not worth crashing every so often for this. It's trully sad cuz the original mod seemed intresting and your work isn't small at all considering all the instability it probly was a nightmare to make it kinda working in the first place.

Drycha but glamoured Cathayans instead of Wood Elves & Beasts to fit with the lore of Wai-Li Village or Winter Palace Pretenders but with minor Cathayan factions instead of Kislev could be interesting, but I've got no idea how much work that'd take. The trap of starting with positive relations with Nakai is an issue. Maybe start allied to the two nearby minor Cathayan factions, so that you're running around defending your Heathlands from Nakai, Gelt, pirates, Zhao Ming, etc.

Spirits of Shanlin just rebuild those buildings and it crashes again.

Trying a Spirits campaign now. The "overview" button for the Jungles of Chi'an doesn't function. The Offices are empty, but has a lord named Zaltothios that isn't in the recruit pool. There's no way to hire anything that Cernunnos buffs. Defenders of the Great Plan gives a trade agreement. No Forest Health from the starter Beastmen, modded Wyrmkin, or DotGP. Kelledria in Wai-Li Village and a nearby Gnoblar Horde did give Forest Health.

Six turns in, there's been no crashes from recruiting the Glade Guard and fighting autoresolve or manual battles with them. The Withering spell is labeled as just "Hex" and is affecting all enemies in range.

Other than playing Shanlin indeed gives the crashes, it's pretty weird as it says nothing about why.

I am still trying to figure out the crash there might be a link i missed.....

I am thinking i just might remove all aspects of the mod except the LL. that should hopefully fix it, and make it more compatible with other mods in the long run. but that is going to take time.

in the mean time can anyone play a spirits campaign and see if you can get the crash to trigger as them as the player faction. I don't have time at the moment due to work to really dive into a play test for the faction.

For those getting the early game crash,
Install the console mod:

Load your game. Open the console with the new icon in the top left. Run the "diplo" command to reveal all factions. End your turn - now you should be able to see who it crashes on.

Reload a save before Diplo was used. Run "fff" to turn off fog of war. Go over and click on an army or a town owned by the faction that was crashing the game. Now run the "killf" command to eliminate their faction.

Now you can turn fog of war back on with "fow on", save your game, and hopefully proceed without the game hanging during your end turn.

This is the only work around at this time, but please verify here what faction is crashing.

Note: for me to completely remove the faction it will take a few solid days of going through tables to ensure references to things are completely gone.

i reinstalled it and i have turned off every mod except it and the unlocker, still crashes either on turn 2 or 3 from a faction that is between 240-260, this time i tested a few times as kadon and mother of the flame

I noticed several characters do not have unit cards in the Unit Roster menu, the only have question marks.

@Crimson ReapeR - try uninstalling and reinstalling the mod if you haven''t done that, also if you are using third party mod manger, I have ran into an issue where i need to open the official launcher to get some mods to update. and verify game files if running alot of mods.

The crash on turn 2 should be fixed as it hasn't happened to me running minimum mods or 300 after i have made the changes here.

l if the above fixes do not work we can call them brokes, just let me know here lol

If you are having problems with the Shanlin faction, get the console command mod and use:

killf wh3_dlc21_wef_spirits_of_shanlin

This removes that faction

great job maintaining this mod, i gave some awards :), only problem i found today was that game crashes on shanlins turn when playing as figustrex

Sorry all i got tied up at work today so the update will be out tomorrow.

Note: the changes will break saves so if you have an ongoing campaign create a back up of this mod before I push the update out.

Getting the missing UI icons bug where the unit cards for some of the lords are just default goblin/swordsman units with just this and Mixu active, haven't seen anyone mention it in the comments so might just be on my end but figured I'd mention it

You can disable most of the factions but only a few are conflicting hard.

it's so I can disable some lords for Compatibility. I have Mixu's Legendary Lords, Legendary Characters, Tribes of the North, and others.

A small feedback to make it a bit more compatible.

It seems like Cryswar was trying to create a khrone-slanesh faction using The Brazen Throne on the South Pole. The tables are still in, conflicting with some other mods (LC and a landmark mod for sure). I think these tables are redundant (i don't know a lot about moding).

So if they are inded redundant then you can delete the rows associated with brazen throne. I saw some rows in building tables (giving them slanesh buildings) and in units and agents tables too.

Hope that will help to make this great mod a bit more stable and compatible.

I am not having the CTD at turn two and cant duplicate the error, but I started running a test instance with Shanlin techs removed and its more stable in general, I might purge the units next. but before that.

can you run the console mod and use the diplo command be for you hit end turn to see what faction it is. Because if its not the Shanlin faction it might be something going on with your install data.

Have not been playing much, however, I have a mod causing a similar error where about 20-30 turns into a campaign, I get a consistent CTD with one faction. Never could find that annoying crash cause and only got as far as it was audio connected, but instead grabbed a confederation mod, confederate in opening turn that faction, disband its troops, and abandon the settlements.

No idea if this will help temporarily.

I'm having the same issue as Criton21, after I hit end turn 2, It get a CTD after it cycles through the roster until near the end. I have a tone of added factions, 400 total at start (including myself). Playing as Archeon, it always CTDs at around faction #310-315 if that helps, its probably a specific Lord doing something I can't see.

I keep getting a CTD when on turn 2. This happens even when I only run Mixu Unlocker and this mod. To help narrow it down when I played Thorek it would happen 2 factions past The Bowmen of Oreon in the turn order.

@upsidedownghost are you using FLC with LL, I found the issue there, Cernunnos had skills being overwritten as they were using the same tier as LL skills. I will be uploading an update once I go through the rest of the FLC lords and make sure that the issue isn't across the board.

So I have looked in to the tech trees are any of you using the Tech-Tree Compilation (New Version) mod as well as i found it might be a possible bug and overwriting FLC, but the FLC techs are available to the AI and possibly causing some crashes.

I have re enabled Cernunnos in my testing and the LL seems fine, as i didnt get any crashed after fully loading his skill points with console.

Thank you for feed back, i might just remove all of the Shanlin faction, to get the mod stable and let Cryswar add it back in once he gets back, but i will look at the skill trees for the faction and see what is going on.

I deleted the custom skills for the Spirits of Shanlin from the character_skills_tables, and then deleted all entries relying on them, and the game stopped crashing on their turn (so far). Haven't managed to narrow down which skill is the problem yet.

Some feedback... It still does make the game still a bit unstable on my end. Many times crashes in the turn of the Spirits of Shanlin faction. Maybe when a faction got problems keep the LL (for confederation as a unique character) and make the rest things of the faction back to vanilla. This way you can still get content of the mod and still have conent in it. Will go some more campaigns but as a 1st glance that was it.

Thank you sir. Had a version I was considering uploading and happy I checked first. You are absolutely welcome to it! It is a lot of trouble chasing down pieces and or repairing abandoned mods.
