They're in a few spots, there's one just before the ambush encounter at White Forest Inn, Alyx will even approach the body and go "This could be Combine handiwork, hard to tell though, there's so many ways to die out here"
Oh so thats where they are? I'll take a look today but, considering the bloody variants are so barely visible, I don't think I'd want to bother with recompiling them again.
You might not have been paying that much attention because, they're behind the glass before you first encounter the Hunters with that scripted sequence at the beginning of EP2, but I don't blame you for not noticing the hanging corpse when said Hunter is right next to it before it dashes off.
That's weird, never seen them in-game. I just instinctively assumed they were unused models left in the game.
The model Dupe's talking about is exclusively seen in Episode 2, usually before an encounter.
Honestly, I don't know, only place I've seen them was on that one model testing map, but they have to be somewhere officially or unofficially, right?
To be honest, I kinda forgot they existed, because I failed to encounter them at all in my testing.
I don't know if I'll replace them, but just to be safe: can You tell me where have you encountered them? Meaning, the name of the map and circumstances.
Please refer to the description for the WHY and it's likely not going to be easily fixed because of how the backgrounds are loaded first before any mods.
he is gonna reply like femboy with something like
>:3 🔥
If you hadn't tested EP2 yet, don't bother because I just encountered the same error problem with the pre-placed rebel corpses so any of the White Forest screens WILL cause the same errors.
So, I did a test of one of the EP1 menu screens that has dead combine soldiers in it (you know that plaza like screen with the Strider in the background like the scene in the actual game) strangely enough your Combine replacement mod didn't cause any errors so now I'm wondering if there's something about the material for the citizens model that's the specific cause, because I've been seeing that people are mentioning on mods that change the material for the forcefields seems to have an adverse effect on the citizens.
No I didn't, since I havent replaced the regular Zombie yet
That mod only changes the rebel body texture. Therefore it won't conflict. Besides, I made these models to use separate folders with separate textures
Wouldn't this technically conflict with your propaganda mod since that mod has stuff related to the rebels?
But what's ironic is that this ONLY applies to the citizens for the plaza screen, because remember you have mods that change the Civil Protection units, the Citadel and even the Breen Cast, all of which are visible on the same screen yet even with all of that, there's zero errors for those respective mods.
Thanks, this seems like a logical explaination. And also explains why it only affects the pre-placed corpses and not active NPCs.
Oh well, just another quirk of the new Workshop function...
This grace period doesn't exist in HL2 and since the Plaza and Street War visibly have citizens walking around, they load with their vanilla model and don't get to change to whatever model the Winter Citizens pack gives them.
Dude you are overworking yourself take a Break Jesus Christ
You are doing too good.
Like replace them with dogs or something similar
