"FULLY AUTOMATED LUXURY GAY SPACE COMMUNISM" LMAOOOOOO
TwinCrows  [author] 2 Jun @ 12:19am
@Commissar Cotichinsky,
Good point, I'll reverse the amenities usage. I'll also test some orbital enhancements for FALGSC to balance it out.

@Fromble B. Gromble,
Yes certainly something relating to workers cooperatives could be added. So far I have Syndicated Autonomy which is a more extreme form. I've added a note to my list to make one that is about cooperatives.

@kerrigan
Thanks for another recommendation, I've taken a peek through the code. There are some great modifiers to draw from.
Commissar Cotchinsky 31 May @ 11:48pm
for luxury gay space communism, should the amenitites usage be higher since the government is providing much more to the citizens? Also i feel like it should probably be more centric to orbital habitats as well, maybe giving extra districts and lower housing usage. Although the setup would probably better work as a rogue servitor nation anyways

Will you be adding something similar to the Worker Cooperatives Civic for non-Corporate empires?

Also here’s another mod that might help you further develop this mod.

Thanks for responding!

Alright, I have added the Events to the version published here!

There's a bit of room for balancing or fixing, as Events can be a little less predictable although not by much. So let me know if any issues occur. I've done a fair bit of testing on my side to make sure the modifiers work and are decently balanced.
TwinCrows  [author] 24 May @ 11:06pm
Kerrigan, thank you for that suggestion! I picked a few civics from the Space Communism mod and put them in my notes. My hope is to make something that includes those ideas, but also makes them more in-depth.

I will be releasing an update which adds events soon. I have 5/10 civics having events, and am balancing what I have now before releasing the first 5.

Each event happens per planet per 50 years, and has 2 or 3 paths, which lead to different 20-year planet modifiers. These events let you create narrative choices about how your civics are interpreted.

Events coming soon:

Mutual Aid Networks - Aid to the Uncooperative

Bioconstituent Representation - Ecosystem Development

Memetic Politics - Problematic Memetics

Liquid Democracy - Meta-Delegation Cascade

Syndicated Autonomy - Autarkic Bargaining

Any chance of incorporating this mod? It’s fair to say the author of that mod has long abandoned it.

Yes thank you, in respect to Peter Noone, the spelling will be fixed next update ;)

I am cooking up some extensive events which occasionally happen for the civics.

Speaking of Mutual Aid, here is a teaser of the event:

Aid to the Uncooperative

A cascade in logistics outages has culminated in shortages on [PLANET]. Such disruptions are normally alleviated by our mutual aid networks, but many of those most heavily affected do not participate in such cooperatives citing 'political differences'. The continued shortages have led to a formal request for special direct government aid.

We must come to their aid!
There is no prerequisite for mutual aid on this planet, it is given freely.

or

They have chosen to fend for themselves.
This planet's mutual aid networks are driven by enlightened self-interest, and only operate if one is willing to contribute.
An-Average-Araminty 21 May @ 4:43am
It seems kinda out of character that "Mutual Aid Networks" make sure "when times are hard, noone goes hungry." While Peter Noone is a surprisingly common scapegoat online, I would think people so dedicated to the public welfare would make sure no one goes hungry, even Noone. Maybe the text could be changed to say no one goes hungry, not even the most isolated hermits.

Ooooooo I really like that! Reminds me of a test in ancient China I learned about in college, where iirc your score determined your social role
TwinCrows  [author] 16 May @ 2:16pm
Naraxa, here's a teaser of one from my notes:

Meritocratic Committees (Pluralist Authoritarian)
This society brings all individuals before a committee to determine worthiness. Social ranking, residence, and even marital status are adjusted according to the opinions of the committee.
Naraxa 16 May @ 1:53pm
Oooo yeah I can see that political science expertise here, yeah! In regards to what you said for authoritarians and Hive Minds, one thing I will ssay is authoritarians don't have a whole lot of *variety* in their content, as it tends to only revolve around slaves and crime reduction, and not much else. In terms of Hive Minds and Machine Intelligences that's also valid and I can understand less interest there as its not so much to do with political science as biology/ecology for hives and programming for machines
TwinCrows  [author] 16 May @ 12:31pm
Thanks for those very kind words Naraxa!

My focus with this mod is certainly on democracies as well as "weird politics", I feel like there is plenty of content in Stellaris for authoritarians/hiveminds and not nearly enough for democratic empires. The lack is especially large when I think about leftist politics.

I see this as similar to how Civilizations mods can be an entryway for further exploration of history, perhaps some will be inspired to look further into these political concepts after exploring this mod. Playing with these civics can help us imagine the ideas they represent. I drew from my Poli Sci BA experiences to keep the descriptions thematic and academic.
Naraxa 16 May @ 12:14pm
At first I thought this was just a silly joke mod but then I saw the writing and omg you did so good! The prose is very academic and yet doesn't compromise on theming or overall enjoyability to read, so all in all great work! Are you planning on adding additional authority type civics in the future (either as their own mods or part of this mod) or are you exclusively focusing on democracies?
BruhMan 16 May @ 12:33am
this is beautiful :steamthumbsup:

Patched some minor fixes
- Improved visibility of Liquid Democracy icon
- Reduced 'Media Circus' leader unity cost and upkeep to -40% (was -100% upkeep)
- Made 'Media Circus' and 'Memetic Politics' more permissive, you can be any type of corporation or government and have it.
- Liquid Democracy changed description wording

Please enjoy testing and let me know your thoughts!
