Sorry for your loss, but thanks for the news..!
We'll also look into applying the prevention rules to ignition.
(such as ignition via torches and ignition magic via fire staffs).

We'll share updates via comments as they are decided and updated.
Thanks for the report.
I'll think about the SteamDeck interface in the future and leave a comment if We have any news.
This feature works for both controller-based force attacks and mouse force attacks. If there are any exceptional device controls, please report them. This mode aims to support all types of control.
Yes! It does.
A new update has just been released for "Don't Hit a Pet Beefalo", introducing a configurable override system and some important improvements based on excellent user feedback.
Here’s what’s new:
[Improved]
- Expanded Protection: The mod now also blocks the default 'Attack' command (Ctrl + LMB) from targeting your pet beefalo. This provides better protection during chaotic fights where you might be using the mouse instead of the keyboard.
[New]
The "I Really Mean It" Override: You can now intentionally attack your pet beefalo by holding Ctrl and Double-Clicking. A single Ctrl+Click remains safely blocked. This is for those moments when you really need to put a beefalo down. No more accidents, only deliberate actions!
[Fixes & Stability]
Several under-the-hood bugs have been squashed and the code has been refactored for
Thank you for your continued support! Enjoy the game with a little more peace of mind.
Since there are cases where a tamed beefalo anchored at the base attacks when shaking the saddle, we will add safety logic for forced mouse attacks while maintaining the existing function and provide an update guide.
By the way I came up the reason why I say it's safe, the saddle would make beefalo ally, so fully tamed ones are safe when Ctrl + F.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
When I look at cases, there are surprisingly many cases where they hit a teammate's beefalo with Ctrl + F. (Especially hitting a teammate's beefalo while they're at the base for a moment in Hound Wave.)
However, I understand that there are also quite a few cases where they hit a beefalo with Ctrl + LMB, so I'll look into a feature that cancels the forced attack unless they double-click Ctrl + LMB.
Do you think it would be useful if such a feature were added?
Yes, it is possible!
It can be blocked as well by adding a few codes,
but I left it in case you want a taming beefalo attack method.
I just became aware of that mod's existence and took a moment to check it out.
The fundamental operation of both mods extends the source logic for finding an attack target, but the logic for selecting which Beefalo not to attack is different.
The mod from the link you sent seems to only exclude Beefalo that have been tamed by the attacking player. (mod downloader)
This mod, however, does not attack any tamed Beefalo, even if that Beefalo's owner(another team player) has left the game.
Also, it's a subtle difference, but this mod's logic for excluding Beefalo is faster.
May I ask what is the difference between this mod and the below mod?
