@NalMac Thank you, I'll try my best

One of the worst modes I've ever seen in my life (one of those cursed modes that can suddenly create a black hole in your dreams).
NalMac 25 Jul @ 4:13am
What's weird is some times it's just a visual thing and then one time in my case it made my character get stuck and killed me. No biggie tho. Good luck finding the fix because I do really like the mod :)
MonkeyShark  [author] 24 Jul @ 7:35pm
@NalMac This game is killing me :steamsad: Not sure how to fix that if it wasn't the zombies. Thanks for telling me, might try to rewrite the entire mod soon, but it's depressing that this is even a thing that can happen. I can't even begin to understand what's wrong with the base game that would allow this to occur lol.
NalMac 24 Jul @ 5:02pm
I think this still creates black tiles. I started a new save with it recently and am coming across them a lot. So I don't think the zombie foot prints were the only cause.
NalMac 1 Jul @ 4:44pm
I also disabled to mod but still have black tiles. If anyone knows of a proper fix lemme know :)
rawgu 24 Jun @ 12:13am
@Crashdown aight thanks. I'll just use older save with seasons, footprints and bloody footprints disabled and hope it will be fine :D
Crashdown 23 Jun @ 12:23pm
@rawgu - I have not unfortunately.
rawgu 23 Jun @ 12:16am
@Crashdown I also have the same issue even though I uninstalled the mod .. have you figured out a fix for this or nay?
Crashdown 20 Jun @ 4:02pm
@MonkeyShark - that's nice of you, but I'm gonna wait and see if any more new areas have the tiles. I've unsubscribed from the mod but the black tiles remain, but everyone else says that fixed their problem, so I'm not sure why mine isn't fixing itself either.
Thealmightybuddha 19 Jun @ 1:17am
Just spent 2 hours removing and testing my map mods only to see it was this
MonkeyShark  [author] 18 Jun @ 2:55pm
@Crashdown By the way, if the black tiles haven't been fixed since you've uninstalled, you can DM me your save file on Discord and I'll go through and re-add them manually in debug mode. Up to you, but I know for other people that's probably annoying to do themselves and I don't want you to feel like you need to abandon the save.
MonkeyShark  [author] 18 Jun @ 2:51pm
@Loccatpowersdog First I need to wait a bit to see if the problem has went away since I disabled them, but yeah, when I re-enable zombie footprints it's probably going to be listed as a separate mod in the mod menu.

The problem itself wouldn't be fixed by having two mods, it'd just make people able to choose a potentially broken variant of the mod.
Loccatpowersdog 18 Jun @ 2:26pm
With the snow-print one it's broken into Player or Bandit/Zombie, would a similar option here potentially help? I thought it was the Hazelnut Manor map mod I tried...
Crashdown 18 Jun @ 11:26am
@MonkeyShark - Same, sometimes it was a single random tile, sometimes it was a whole grouping. The more odd thing that happened to me was the black tiles sometimes appeared in areas I had never been to yet, leading me to think it might be an issue with Project Seasons possibly? I dunno.
MonkeyShark  [author] 18 Jun @ 8:18am
I disabled zombie footprints yesterday temporarily to see if I can isolate the problem. I still wish I had the slightest idea of what the culprit could be, sometimes it's clusters, sometimes it's singular tiles. I did finally get to encounter the issue myself, but I was also testing with this and Project Seasons, so I still need to figure out if it's some sort of problem with a mod conflict.
Marvdizzle 18 Jun @ 7:12am
Fwiw, after removing this mod as well as the snow footprint mod, my issues with black squares went away after starting a new game. Just leaving this here in case it may help the mod author or the community. <3
Loccatpowersdog 17 Jun @ 7:14pm
I walk over clean looking tiles & leave bloody footprints. I think maybe at some point there was blood there but now it's faded.
Crashdown 17 Jun @ 6:46pm
@storm - not yet. I mean, I've turned off/unsub'd to some of the supposed "offending" mods (this and Project Seasons), but the black tiles remain. I don't know if the tiles are just a permanent bug in my game now despite turning off the "appropriate" mods or if there's still a mod causing the issue that I can't find. If I find new black tiles, I may just have to start a new game without some of the suspicious mods. (I'm hesitant to start a new game now because my current game is a couple real life weeks deep.)
ChillWhiteGuy 17 Jun @ 1:23pm
another basic feature the devs have yet to implement in their 16 year development cycle
storm 16 Jun @ 4:15pm
@MonkeyShark Check your DMs.
MonkeyShark  [author] 16 Jun @ 2:41pm
@storm Are you able to send me a picture of this on Discord, or tell me the specific tile info (tile report)?
storm 16 Jun @ 1:38pm
@Crashdown Did you find any solutions to this bug? I've also been experiencing the same thing and whenever I drive into one of the tiles whatever wheel comes in contact falls right through.
MonkeyShark  [author] 16 Jun @ 10:14am
Also since this mod adds only 3 things, the only things I can imagine trying are:
1. Replacing the IDs
2. Moving zombie blood tracking to a sandbox option
MonkeyShark  [author] 16 Jun @ 10:12am
I just started a new save and walked around for 30 actual minutes to verify the black tile problem was a problem with this mod, couldn't find a single messed up tile, so I have actually 0 idea how it could be anything other than a mod conflict or a problem with the base game's latest update. If anyone has information beyond "why are black tire" please post it in Bug Reports lol.

Also I should emphasize that, please use the Bug Reports discussion and read the mod description before posting. If the mod description says something you find isn't true, make a bug report.

@Crashdown pinging you here, but this is just a general announcement
MonkeyShark  [author] 16 Jun @ 10:09am
@BVllP I've just playtested, Footprints don't display on the stairs, but that's not what would cause that error. Footprint despawning while in the basement also works fine, no errors. Reinstall the mod and make sure you're on v1.1.

@YelloW_JaCKeT "Safe to add or remove mid-playthrough"

@storm @Bomb that hit Hiroshima Reinstall and make sure you've updated to v1.1
BVllP 16 Jun @ 9:28am
the tracks are not displayed on the stairs, so there is an error
BVllP 16 Jun @ 9:22am
The error appears when you enter the basement

is there any way to remove the bloody footprints mid playthrough? I also seem to be getting that black tile problem that people are commenting on

Bomb that hit Hiroshima 14 Jun @ 8:04pm
the footsteps wont go away for me
Crashdown 14 Jun @ 7:10pm
Unless it initially caused the black tiles and now they're permanently in my map? Man this is a conundrum...
Crashdown 14 Jun @ 2:45pm
Alright I fully apologize. It's definitely not this mod, because I've unsubscribed from this mod and there's a bunch of new holes/black tiles in my game, AND they're literally HOLES (my vehicle almost got stuck in a couple on the road).
MonkeyShark  [author] 14 Jun @ 11:24am
@BeljikPakiBlanc It's still under investigation, but it seems to be Project Zomboid 42.9 and not this mod. People were experiencing it without it.
BeljikPakiBlanc 14 Jun @ 8:00am
i use snowy footprints mod so this is a great addon and i rlly wanna use it
BeljikPakiBlanc 14 Jun @ 7:59am
is this mod working? seems like a great addon but i see people talking about tiles going black
storm 14 Jun @ 12:34am
@MonkeyShark Will do.
MonkeyShark  [author] 14 Jun @ 12:00am
@storm I'm pretty sure it would be. It definitely wouldn't cause errors or anything though. If you try any out let me know if it seems to ignore NPCs so I can try to add support.
storm 13 Jun @ 11:12pm
@MonkeyShark Hey wondering if this is compatible with bandits mod or any mod that adds NPCs.
ezeepeezee 13 Jun @ 8:37pm
I'm posting the most recent error I got with it in the discussion thread, but I've turned it off for now to see if the tiles keep blackening.
MonkeyShark  [author] 13 Jun @ 8:10pm
@ezeepeezee Good to know lol, I really didn't know what my mod could've had to do with it. I figured it would've had to be a mod conflict.
ezeepeezee 13 Jun @ 8:07pm
I am also having tiles randomly turn black (and I can't right-click them) just like @Crashdown

Not sure what kind of mod conflict might cause that though, if you have any ideas I can try to narrow down what it might be, but I have 100+ mods running
MonkeyShark  [author] 13 Jun @ 1:29pm
@Weaver Thank you :cubeglasses:
MonkeyShark  [author] 13 Jun @ 1:23pm
@ANASTASIA Make sure to let me know which mod is conflicting if you find out. I've looked through the code, all this does is apply overlay tiles on top of existing ones, so there's no reason it should be messing with any other tiles unless there's a mod conflict.
MonkeyShark  [author] 13 Jun @ 1:22pm
@Crashdown The footprint cleanup errors have already been fixed
Wolfe 13 Jun @ 11:53am
@Monkeyshark LMAO, alright good to see it's on lol
Crashdown 13 Jun @ 11:19am
@ANASTASIA - Oh I had some random tile holes in my game too in Brandenburg last night. Must've been from this mod too.

I was also getting a bunch of errors after a while connecting to this mod - something about footprint cleanup. I too love the work put into this mod, but it's a bit buggy atm.
Weaver 13 Jun @ 9:37am
@Enamel, there's already a footprints in the snow mod for b42 :)

Thanks for the mod @MonkeyShark. I didn't actually enjoy it as much as I thought I would but I appreciate the work that's gone into this one, pretty damn unique work here my man. Keep it up!
Enemal 13 Jun @ 9:35am
Does this mean we're only one step removed from footprints in snow?
