There will probably be ways to obtain more dragon bones in the future (but not the near future). As for the classes, I'm planning on releasing them separately in another mod for people who don't want to go through Arion every time. Once I've had enough feedback on them, I'll release it.
Is this compatible with Mafe's Sea Stalkers mod (the one with green mega rays)?
Since you already add spawning merchant, battle and elite fleets in your mod if might have cause a conflict in this mod.
Do Arion Fleets use base game vanilla fleets?
If they do atleast use the green eco ships from Mafe's Mod since they do fit on Arion fleets.
If you ask for his/her permission.
That is all.
Tbh, fame requirements aren't exactly the same as spending gold and favor. It doesn't substract anything from you, it only checks your progress in an indirect way. 300 isn't very high (consider that Prominence's Emporio di Portali demands 1000, and you can still get there halfway through a moderately modded run).
On the other hand, I have plans to make a separate mod with only the two new classes, so with less requirement. I'm just waiting for feedback on the classes so I have less file swapping to do.
Weapon and item shops never refill. The only thing that refills is the market good of that port.
I think the 30k money to unlock Lander and the 20 Favor is already a requirement, I wouldn't add another on top. that said this is based on the experience of me restarting and rushing to get there. which I assume isn't how everyone will interact with your content the first time. but unless you consider your classes 'broken' or 'end game' I just would'nt add anything more to it.
Fair, these are pretty steep requirements. Do you think it'd be enough to reduce the requirements to 300 (which is easily attainable when playing with mods), or would a different type of requirement be better?
The only content you'd miss are the two trainers, so maybe it's not worth abandoning a 15 hours run. The classes are in the mod regardless, so there's a way to unlock them.
Open the console by pressing "Shift" + "~". Then, type in "setGlobalVar class_brier 1" and "setGlobalVar class_wyrm 1" respectively to unlock the classes (remember to press enter each time).
Okay, I've figured out the problem and I feel a bit silly for not realising sooner: it's probably because your save is older than July 17th, which is when the mod was updated. So while the game does display the new dialogue that lets you recruit the trainers, the actual map of the port doesn't include them or the triggers to make them appear.
tl;dr: Lander's dialogue is post-update, but the Arion port is still pre-update because the game has already loaded that zoneData. So, the only way to make them appear is to start a new save
Yes it requires you to change your rank to whatever the minimum requirement is (or just changing to the Saint rank). After getting the class you can revert back though.
That's weird, I had no problem making them appear while playtesting the mod. The way it works is that as soon as you've recruited them (paid the favor and lost the option), the class trainer should appear the next time you enter Arion, even if no time has passed.
If they keep not appearing (they're supposed to be in the training area next to Lander), there are easy but ugly ways to fix this. I'll investigate this.
I considered it at some point but I deemed it not really worth to mess with. Stuff like detectives, cartographers and researcher play with some global variables that are mysterious and don't seem very flexible.
Since those services aren't faction-locked, it's simpler to rely on the base game NPCs.
I believe people will make more custom factions in the future, although with the way the game is coded a fully customizable faction would be complicated to make without compromises.
Also researcher and Cartographer would be awesome for sure
If Eldiran Radcodex have any plans to create a sequel for Horizon's Gate I wish we could atleast form our own faction.
Okay thank you for the reply!
Yes, Arion has merchant, battle and elite ships. To make them appear though, you'll need to build the dockyard, invest into the city's wealth and make sure to talk to Garchol at the docks.
The mod is technically still in development, as there's more I'd like to add, but I don't think it will happen for a good while due to other projects. At the moment though, Arion has the vast majority of the content intended for it.
Does your Arion Faction have unique battle and elite ships yet?
Is your mod still in development?
That is all and thank you!
Thank you for the large update!
If it doesn't work for you, you might have to uninstall and re-install.
On the other hand, there's an NPC in Arion who lets you reset your reputation with other factions. Go talk to Advisor Ruth in the council room, next to the stairs.
All it needs is some World Domination ending for your faction mod as a cherry on top if you're a little bit ambitious and some spare freetime.
That is all and thank you!
I think you're only the first person in the Horizon's Gate Modding community who attempted and managed to create a fully fledged faction mod and that is quite a feat of itself!
And I hope Eldiran Radcodex feature your mod as a new faction in the sequel of Horizon's Gate!
He/she could atleast share the source code for revealing favors for your mod.
You could atleast ask Mafe to integrate his/her eco ships in your faction mod since it fits your faction.
Just to lessen the burden and pressure of adding more features in your mod and just focus on your modded classes instead since its really hard to create ships and make it work on this game.
You can know use the mirrors from the base games to check your favor. It will also tell you your favor with Arion if you're part of another faction. It used to be an NPC telling you how much favor you go (maybe it would be better to have both?)
Okay Thanks!
@Welk
Yeah, I'll probably give them elite passives at the same time I make them.
Any plans to add elite passives on your new classes mod in the future updates?
And also, thanks for trying out the mod! I have plans to add more content in some future update, including new classes and the ability to craft Prominence's mod weapons with dragon bones.
No plan to add overworld fleets for Arion at the moment, in no small part because that will most likely affect performance while sailing. Then again, if there's popular demand I guess it might not hurt to add a couple ships?
In essence, your fleet is the Arion fleet.
Also thank you for this ambitious faction mod!
Any plans to create an elite ship and a faction ship for this mod?
On the other hand, there's currently an issue that crashes the game when talking to Advisor Ruth in the council room. It shouldn't impact anything else in the game.
