Great mod! Been looking for a decent tool mod for a while, but is there any way of making them compatible with pawns that are incapable of violence? I find it a bit odd that just because my Highmate crafter can't fight she also, by extension, can't use a power drill :)

Oh right, that's a cool looking mod. Like I say in the description, this mod is based on the concept of power tools from Simmin's original mod they posted in 2021.

@The Lost Cake Simmin's mod had a 'psycho' pirate raider that spawned with a chainsaw so I could do something similar to that. I also want to add a construction/breacher pawn who spawns with the power saw.

Hey all, added the nail gun, speeds up construction a bit and doubles as a ranged weapon, spraying nails at your targets! Its not as good as the power saw but is a fair bit cheaper.

you should add a welder that makes it so its faster to repair mechanoids and vehicles from vanilla expanded vehicles and more stuff overall

I personally prefer them to each have their own, so I can just use Style Change anytime, click the power tool and click "Red" or whatever color.
Also gonna start a discussion for ideas, just commenting cause I'm not too sure if you get notifications for discussions, I've been told before that authors don't so

i love this! very nice visuals and overall style :)

as a suggestion - nailgun, increases construction/gen labor speed (for balance maybe less than the chisel/drill) and doubles as a ranged weapon?

I can also change them to just use the vanilla styles like Morbid,Totemic,Spikecore. Let me know if you think that's a better option.

RE the styles showing up during ideology creation, I think that's just how it has to work as i need to define each of the colours as global styles. Hopefully it isnt too weird.

Not sure if it's intentional, but the different colour power tools now show up during custom ideology creation in the list of possible styles next to Norse, Animalist etc.

I love the graphics and idea behind it. Just put the option to set values so it's not that powerful and everyone's happy. I like to keep things balanced overall in my modpack. :)

Just made a new update:

Added recolors via Styles (Ideology needed I believe but mod still works fine without Ideology)
Added support for Melee Animations mod
Small balancing changes
Made Jackhammer and Power Saw stronger against walls/buildings

@SirArlen I tend to agree a bit but this is a spiritual successor to the original Power Tools mod so I wanted to keep the values the same. I am working on some mod settings atm though that will include balance presets.

@MiTHRiL There should be no issues using those with this mod, it just adds new items. Simple sidearms is just the one ive confirmed works but if those do, i'll ad them to the description.

The bane of every good saturday morning sleep. Power tools and that one neighbor that decides to start working at 9 o clock on the dot and then stops working at 11 o clock because it's the afternoon and doesn't do jack shit under sunday morning and starts at 8 o clock because why not start even earlier the next day?
