@Keinori, that's a good one! I note it down to investigate about it when I have spare time.

@afyrmo can you add an option to show color buildings in minimap with forest overlay?
Afyrmo  [author] 19 hours ago
@JENOVA Absolute, thank you so much for the detailed feedback and for reporting these issues! Your comments were very helpful and allowed me to pinpoint and fix several bugs.

I've just uploaded a new update (v2.2) that addresses the problems you pointed out:
- The visual bug with the large city name labels appearing on the minimap when TerrainImage was disabled has been fixed.
- The issue with the forest and vegetation overlay has also been resolved.
- The errors from the Pastebin link have been addressed to prevent them from appearing again.

I hope this new version provides a much smoother experience. Thank you for your feedback and testing!

@Afyrmo Ah that makes sense then haha. Thank you for the update!

@Afyrmo I also just reloaded my save, and got these errors. Idk if the second one is caused by this mod, as it's an unknown source.

@Afyrmo I found a new visual bug, and possibly a second one if my short term memory isn't acting up.

When you disable `TerrainImage` in the in-game settings, The large map labels introduced in 42.11 become visible on the minimap.

Disregard if I'm mistaken on this one. I think I remember map key colors being visible on buildings when `TerrainImage` was both on and off. Now they're only visible when it's off.

@Kham, there was a bug about writing notes and it has been solved with the mod version 2.1. I really appreciate your feedback.
Kham 6 Aug @ 12:16pm
@Afyrmo So it's working again now! Not sure why, the only thing I did was in debug mode I right clicked the map and selected "Reapply Style" and now I can add notes again when the mod is active... Sorry to have bothered you, not sure what happened with it.
Kham 6 Aug @ 12:07pm
@Afyrmo Yep I have a pen/pencil in my inventory. The problem isn't the button, I click the button to add a label and then when I click on the map it throws an LUA error and doesn't do anything. When I remove the mod, I can add notes again. Only been happening since B42.11.0 update came out.

This is the stack trace from the console.txt full log is too large for pastebin

@Afyrmo It is indeed fixed. Much appreciated.

@JENOVA Absolute: I uploaded a new version to avoid that. I hope it works. Thank you for your feedback and testing.

@Afyrmo There's two present bugs I found in the latest version of this mod. They affect the world map rather than the minimap. I tested with this mod alone to assure it was the cause.

The new map labels for major and minor locations don't disappear when you zoom in far enough like they're supposed to.

Street names, and well as town/city and other locations such as McCoy's Logging are supposed to each have their own font style and colors, but they're all exactly the same.

@Kham does your character have pencil, pen or marker to write on the map? I added notes and symbols in my test saves. If the symbol panel doesn't appear, press S key (or the "S" button at the bottom right of the window) when you have the main map open.
Kham 6 Aug @ 10:08am
@Afyrmo just checked with the mod update you just put out and I still can't add notes to the map, this is the only active mod in my test save.
Afyrmo  [author] 6 Aug @ 9:26am
@MeTaLAnGeR, In Apocalypse game mode, the minimap is turned off, unlike other game modes. Custom Sandbox allows the player to adjust the game settings (Sandbox Options). At the bottom of the "Meta" tab of the Sandbox Options window, you can enable the "Allow Mini-Map" option.

If the minimap is allowed, the "Toggle Minimap" button appears when hovering over the map icon, under other icons on the left margin.
MeTaLAnGeR 6 Aug @ 9:07am
i've tried so many things, but my mini map isn't showing... :((
Kham 6 Aug @ 9:02am
Since the game update a few days ago you can't add notes to the map, you can click the button to add note but when you click on the map to place it the game throws an error.

After installing this mod, zooming in on the main map only shows green forests and no longer displays the white areas. Please check this issue.
Afyrmo  [author] 1 Aug @ 1:16pm
@MikeyB, I'm glad it worked. ☺️

there was something changing my minimap display in the Lua Folder, a file named layout is in it. map.0 visibility must = true it will stay glitched even after verifying and uninstall/reinstall. Thanks m9 it worked!
Afyrmo  [author] 1 Aug @ 9:26am
@MikeyB, Thanks for the report!

I’ve tested the mod with and without other mods, and it normally doesn’t prevent the minimap from showing. If it’s not visible even with 0 mods, the issue is likely in your layout config file. Try this:

- Go to C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Zomboid\Lua\layout.ini
This file stores UI layout (position/visibility). If you changed screen resolution recently, the minimap might be offscreen or hidden.
- Open it and check for a section about miniMap0. Make sure it says visible=true.
- Still not working? Backup and delete layout.ini. The game will regenerate it on launch.
- Also check: ModOptions.ini (same folder). Delete lines with MinimapStyleOptions or remove the file entirely (after backup) to reset mod settings.

Let me know if it helps!

my mini map completely dissapeared after installing this, it wont show, regardless of toggling on the left or anything, even tried a start with 0 mods and still the mini map wont show.
Afyrmo  [author] 30 Jul @ 6:25pm
@Typpy San, That feature is now available in the latest update (v1.10).
You can choose whether the minimap’s button bar appears at the top or bottom , allowing you to align the map flush with the bottom edge of the screen.
Go to ESC > Options > Mods > Minimap Style Options to adjust it.

Thanks for the feedback!
Typpy San 28 Jul @ 12:12am
Hi,
Can you add a setting to move the minimap button to the top or remove it?
It would be better if the map was actually at the bottom without being blocked by the button.

I've noted down the following for further investigation:
-Resizable window (work in progress)
-Darker map option
-Option to display vehicles and enemies
-Ability to draw markers directly on the minimap
-Ability to copy and paste markers without searching for them in the symbols menu
-Ability to rotate symbols
-Option to disable automatic centering on the character
Thank you all for your feedback and testing!

@Afyrmo is there any chance you could add toggleable enemy and vehicle icons on the minimap like in Eris Minimap
ElZavier 20 Jul @ 6:27am
thank youuuu! the more zoom-in feature is the one i was looking for since the mini map is very zoomed out in B42!
Afyrmo  [author] 19 Jul @ 6:55am
@Viberipper, I'll look into it. I also want to make symbols more visible on the minimap. Thank you for your feedback and testing.
Viberipper 19 Jul @ 5:15am
anyway you could make a mod that allows you to draw on minimap? its anoyying having to open to cross out areas ive looted lol. wasnt sure if its possible
Afyrmo  [author] 19 Jul @ 4:53am
@DirtyCurt, I've just uploaded a new version to extend the vanilla zoom limits. You can toggle that option in the “Mods” tab of the Game Options window (ESC > OPTIONS > MODS).
DirtyCurt 17 Jul @ 11:45pm
does it allow you to zoom in further than vanilla allows?
ditoseadio 17 Jul @ 4:19am
Ahora sí, te amo
OxTailSafu 16 Jul @ 8:27am
Thank you! I can't believe this wasn't a vanilla feature to begin with.
Afyrmo  [author] 16 Jul @ 4:29am
@XOTAI, Mod options are located in the "Mods" tab of the Game Options window. To access this window, press the ESC key in-game and then "Options."
X0TAI 16 Jul @ 2:18am
May I ask where to find the options to change the minimap style?
