Grav-Shuttle

@Nepenthe: Thanks for your insight :-). I suspected it would be a somewhat bigger project, but at least it sounds doable. Here's hoping someone with the skills to do it gets the same idea I had eventually ^^.

@Sumatris not as a simple XML-only mod; you'd need to code up a C# replacement for CompProperties_Refuelable (which is built around placing tangible objects into a fuel tank) and patch CompProperties_Launchable to support it. (I'm not not author of this mod, just someone who has spent too much time poking around in the Rimworld Internals)

General question, not necessarily a request for this specific mod: would it be possible to code an electric-powered shuttle with an internal battery instead of chemfuel tanks?

Would love this with the option to use the mechanitor shuttle sprite. Great mod :)

Does this require extra research as well?
I was also wondering, since grav cores are quite the expense early-midgame, how about an intermediate version that does not require a grav core? It could require an existing shuttle upgraded with another engine or smth along those lines? (Along with another research step after the normal shuttle unlock)

@BTCafe I used the basic shuttle sprite to make it, yes, however, I think the main issue with stuffing the shuttle before isn't so much the volume but rather the mass of the items inside. Maybe it is a bit much based on volume. However, I think we can reasonable suspend disbelief since this shuttle uses a grav-core for it

Is this using the same base shuttle sprite? 3000 kg is quite a lot to jam into that thing
TurboPickle  [author] 24 Jul @ 8:39am
@Nishe so the base game shuttle has a cargo of 500kg, a fuel cap of 400 chemfuel, min fuel usage of 50, and a max distance of 62
Glockodile 24 Jul @ 6:50am
@Nishe more cargo and range i presume

What's the difference between this and the regular shuttle?

Seems like a lot of people want one with a signal jammer. In that case I'll see about making one. No promises as I gotta see how possible that is without using c (my C-skills when it comes to rimworld are weak sauce) but I'll definitely give it a try and update y'all on it here

Someone snorted all the yayo to come up with this idea.
That being said, I also think one with a signal jammer would be hilarious. Imagine doing away with the gravship entirely and challenging the mechhive with this thing instead.

+1 to the idea of making one with a signal jammer

thanks

@Molay I shall consider that, I may do half industrial components and half advanced components since its suppose to be the exact same shuttle in base Odyssey except the airfoils are swapped out with the jury rigged gravcore

make a signal jammeer on it

Safety: in violation - I love it.

Very cool implementation of an advanced shuttle. Feels vanilla-like and requires meaningful resources to build. Personally I'd go the extra step and make it use advanced components instead of regular components, in the same amount. It's a VERY GOOD shuttle, worth it :) Good job!
