@condottiere it was made as a stopgap patch, i'll maybe rework it later with more content

@Kilo This is just my personal opinion re: recon/marine armor. Those apparels' lack of toxic/temperature resistance are their problem, not a problem that your life support pack needs to solve. If anything needs a stat patch, it's those items. As it so happens, the workshop has multiple mod options for giving these armors temp or toxic resistance. The mods are kind of piecemeal, all over the place though. No one-stop patch-everything mod.

I'm not saying this to be a jerk. I totally see that it's a PITA for these armors to prevent wearing parkas yet provide insufficient insulation themselves.

Your life support pack should only provide toxic/temperature stats if you think it should on its own merits, not as a stopgap patch for those armor apparels. :)

that's actually a decent idea, i'll include it in the next update in some way

I mean if you're afraid of it replacing cold weather gear, just make sure that the recipe requires gravlite panels or vacstone blocks or something else that requires engaging with the space-stuff. Vacsuits are already incredible for arctic colonies and they only require steel and components.

@Omega13 it ONLY gives vacuum resistance for now for balance reasons, but it seems that a lot of people are having temperature issues so I'll look into that
Omega13 23 Jul @ 10:16am
Checking my current playthrough, I can confirm that recon and marine armor, at least, do not negate Toxic resistance at all without mods. Also, does this mod affect temperature resistance? As I've had more problems with my guys in marine armor getting sudden hypothermia in space than with them getting vacuum exposure.
Kilo  [author] 23 Jul @ 8:11am
if i recall correctly, yeah
Myphicbowser 23 Jul @ 8:00am
I think that DrunkenBard has the right idea, but I also think most power armors already negate toxic environments no?
Kilo  [author] 23 Jul @ 6:50am
@DrunkenBard no, it only works for the vacuum as of now
DrunkenBard 23 Jul @ 6:47am
Does it help at all with environmental resistance to toxins or rot stink?
Cool Dad 22 Jul @ 6:37pm
keep up the great work Kilo! Cant wait to see the Vacsuit Series take shape!
Kilo  [author] 22 Jul @ 5:54pm
Yeah but i'm leaving that for the ultratech version which will come later
Readtext 22 Jul @ 5:53pm
Well, if there is a technology for gravity control, then making a backpack with heat pipes through the entire body will not be difficult)
Kilo  [author] 22 Jul @ 5:50pm
It's also NOT intended to let you walk around in pure vacuum without any other gear
Kilo  [author] 22 Jul @ 5:48pm
@Readtext it's a backpack, it might supply you with oxygen and pump nitrogen out but it won't heat your whole body up
Readtext 22 Jul @ 5:45pm
Add heating. You can even use fuel. Without additional clothing, pawns freeze. Wearing a scarf and mittens on combat armor looks ridiculous.
Herg The Derg 21 Jul @ 11:30am
I like your mods G :bisonsteak:
Hamacelos 21 Jul @ 6:57am
neato
Kilo  [author] 21 Jul @ 6:45am
Is now less tiny on the ground
Kilo  [author] 21 Jul @ 5:41am
Yes, it's tiny, I know, it'll get fixed
Hamacelos 21 Jul @ 4:54am
the drawn size of the pack on the ground is too small, on pawns it looks ok
twisted feet 21 Jul @ 12:26am
dood, this was exactly what I'm looking for my yttakin colony. might just tweak the numbers a little so I won't have to deal with both vac burns and hypothermia
Natangry 20 Jul @ 7:33pm
@C0lin2000 considering radiation isn't a thing in rimworld and this mod adds a utility slot vac resist item and the mod author was looking for ideas, I don't think my request is unreasonable. The only thing I have to worry about in temperature which I can do with clothing
C0lin2000 20 Jul @ 1:59pm
@natangry you know that wthe body must be protecte from the radiaton in space so you need a full helmet but you could modle a helmmet with a cowboy hat on
Natangry 20 Jul @ 1:09pm
I would love a breather mask to go with this that acts like the face mask but with vac resist. That way I can still rock my cowboy hat
Yautja 20 Jul @ 8:53am
Hey Kilo, I partially agree with Ravenholme, perhaps keep those split in different mods, but make a single one with all those together, for people who want all of it?
Kilo  [author] 20 Jul @ 7:03am
@Ravenholme So yeah, I'll think about it but for now I'll just keep them in a single collection
Kilo  [author] 20 Jul @ 6:59am
I once mentioned that I'd rather keep them as seperate mods so people can pick and choose, but maybe I will
Ravenholme 20 Jul @ 6:48am
Rolling all your Vacsuit additions into a singular mod (Kilo's Vacsuit Extensions or something) would be pretty neat - just because they're all a cohesive set of additions.
MercuryDoll 20 Jul @ 6:14am
that was fast, very pog
Kilo  [author] 20 Jul @ 6:13am
There, it's fixed
Kilo  [author] 20 Jul @ 6:11am
@Hamacelos OH my bad, fixing it now
Hamacelos 20 Jul @ 6:09am
you kept the xml of the oddisey vacsuit in this
lucky_one 🍀 20 Jul @ 6:08am
I love the content you are providing, we really needed some more space options, thanks boss!
