Very well written and engaging, with only minor flaws.

If you talk to the Japanese lady in the weapons shop and try to be polite by only telling her, "I don't like knives," then she points you toward the shuriken. Continuing with this dialog option results in not receiving the Cobra as intended, and a map restart is required.

There's a lot of running around from map to map. In between scenes really need to be warp locations located on the same map. These maps are small, so the loading screens are short in this case.

Trying to open the door to the CHEAP HOTEL causes the guy to run around a strange pathway. Consider invisible block movement props to force the more intuitive path.

I'll be sure to check out the Director's Cut version before I continue further.

I love the original neuromaner it is why shadowrun was such a bog hit with me when it first came out. will you be recreating the entire game in mod format or only the early chapters?

Hey everyone!

I have finally finished porting Project: ShadowMancer into Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut! In that version, I have fixed the scene that has been broken in this version since the beginnning.

You can subscribe/download the Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut version of Project: ShadowMancer at THIS LINK

Oh man i've just begun rereading Neuromancer, can't wait to give this a try.

@[WTG]Devious:

Thanks for the feedback!

The confusion that you're experienceing comes from teh fact that there is an arcade/office leg of the chase in Shadowmancer. However, upon uploading it, it broke and I think I'm going to have to recreate it from scratch again. Once i do get it fixed/recreated, that scene will be in there, don't fret.

Just played episode 1 and I love what you're doing. It comes off as more of an interactive novel.

I will say that I remember the scene after being chased into the arcade and jumping from the window as being very intense in the book (Thinking about attacking and then making the decision to flee instead). A lot of that was lost and I'd love ot see that put in somehow. Currently, it's kind of confusing. You are told to go to an arcade and then it talks about surviving the fall.

I was also hoping that Molly would be more attractive, especially knowing what comes later.

@ZEE Captain

I posted a possible fix that i discovered in THIS THREAD HERE. Try it out, and post a reply there on if ity was succesful.
Dr. LuBitch <ZEE> 20 Jan, 2015 @ 2:16pm
I downloaded it but i cannot play it - why?
Eachna 12 Jan, 2015 @ 5:45am
Thanks for the update, I'll keep an eye on the Dragonfall side :D.
K.C.S. Purple Monkey 11 Jan, 2015 @ 3:52pm
That was a great book, and I was delighted to see that someone was adapting it into a game. So thank you for what you are doing with this. :demoticon:
Boateye  [author] 9 Jan, 2015 @ 10:38am
@Enzbe:

Then maybe i misspoke and you still need to download Sprawl Sites and Shadowrunner's apartment One.Eight. I'll update the description and the bug report thread.
Zenbe 9 Jan, 2015 @ 9:45am
@Boateye: yes, I got those and also Memphis Motors, Portraits and Props, Henshep's Props, Props and Stuff, sr5_Profiles, Alternate Player Outfits.
Boateye  [author] 8 Jan, 2015 @ 7:22pm
@Eachna:

Yes there are plans to move this to import this to Dragonfall: DC. That will be after this episode is in complete working order.
Eachna 8 Jan, 2015 @ 7:08pm
Is this going to be moved over to Dragonfall Director's Cut at any point?
Onyx Blackstone 8 Jan, 2015 @ 11:16am
So... I finally found some time to play with this and I'm confused. I get a bunch of missing file errors when I try to edit pack dependencies, and after opening the .cpz file I still can't see the missing files. I can pastebin the output, but I'd like to stop polluting the comments so I guess we should move this to forums or PM since I wouldn't mind poking around a bit more when I have the time.
Boateye  [author] 7 Jan, 2015 @ 12:41am
I've tried, once, using an older version of this mod, and it didn't go so well. To be fair, that version had more dependencies, and i had no idea what I was doing. It's proably one of the reasons that one of my scenes broke.

You could give it a shot, and let me know if you can get it to work!
Onyx Blackstone 7 Jan, 2015 @ 12:20am
I don't have Dragonfall as DLC, but I have Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director's cut. Does anyone know if it's possible to import ShadowMancer (and any missing requirements) into that version using the editor?
Boateye  [author] 6 Jan, 2015 @ 11:21am
@enzebe: So you downloaded More Stairs and Doors, Sprawl Sites, and Shadowrunner's apartment One.Eight, and now it works?
Zenbe 6 Jan, 2015 @ 6:17am
@Boateye: I got it to work afterall. I just got all the UGCs that you mentioned above (as well as the ones mentioned by the "Ghost in the Shell" creator). Now it works without a problem.
Guess I could have solved the problem faster if I actually read anything ^^
Zenbe 6 Jan, 2015 @ 4:59am
@Boateye: I tried "Wolf Runners Inc." for Returns and "Operation Complex Prophet" for Dragonfall and I can play both without any problems. Sadly, I still can't start "Project: ShadowMancer" and "Ghost in the Shell"
T4l0n 4 Jan, 2015 @ 8:56pm
keep it up man
Boateye  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 2:23pm
@enzbe: Thanks for the info. let me know what you find, especially if you get it working, so that i can make a post about ti to help others having the same issue.
Bootstrapbill 4 Jan, 2015 @ 1:10pm
I am new the moding thing. How do I install the requied assets for Berlin and Seattle?
goldstep1080 4 Jan, 2015 @ 7:51am
I love the idea of Gibson getting shown about this way.
Zenbe 4 Jan, 2015 @ 12:21am
@Boateye: I think I might have the same version. You mean the one before Dragonfall got the Directors Cut update, right? So I'm not sure if this should cause any problems. I'm having the same problem with the "Ghost in the Shell" content somebody else created, I actually left the same message there. I'll try to download some other content just to see if I can get any of them to work
Boateye  [author] 3 Jan, 2015 @ 6:47pm
@Enzbe: This is an issue that some folks seem to be having. My version of Shadowrun Returns has the old version od dragonfall dlc in it, and it has been brought t my attention that this may be the source of this issue. In my next update, i'll try importing the assets from dragonfall DC into Shadowrun returns and see if that fixes the issue for folks.
Zenbe 3 Jan, 2015 @ 6:55am
So, I haven't played any Steam Workshop stuff before. I have subscribed this and it appears as "subscribed" when I start a new game, but how do I actually start this. Do I have to download it first? How? Every time I select this campaign it only opens the difficulty settings menu and then directs me back to the title screen after I select any.
Boateye  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 11:15pm
@ scarecrow: you should see the game in your content menu if you subscribed. check there. IT will be in Shadowrun Returns, not Dragonfall - Director's cut.

@Pvt Paula: currently, this can only be played in the original Shadowrun Returns.
i101 2 Jan, 2015 @ 7:04pm
Interesting UGC. Sorry if I ask but can I play your UGC with SR:R Dragonfall, or do I have to use the "first" SR:R game?
Scarecrow 31 Dec, 2014 @ 5:02pm
Seems interesting... But how can download it? I already subscribed.

Love your idea, but I clicked on the icon thinking that the old game ahd been ported to steam! I actually think your approach is going to be more interesting and deep than the old game and it needs some original icon art. Maybe take the original art and do some artistic effects (or another artist's impression of the art?) to distinguish yourself?
DanseDeMorte 29 Dec, 2014 @ 10:21pm
I remember playing this game on the comodore 64 where that screen shot came from.
myke_tuna 29 Dec, 2014 @ 8:01pm
Subscribing as this sounds pretty interesting. Started reading this for the first time and I'm halfway through right now. Gonna be cool when this is all done.
ɢeᴍ_ 28 Dec, 2014 @ 9:59pm
When I saw them use terms like "Nuyen", and "Jacked In" I immediately thought of Neuromancer. When they named a character "Jake ARMITAGE" I knew that the idea for Shadowrun came entirely from Neuromancer, coupled with a mythical RPG Beastiary.
Boateye  [author] 28 Dec, 2014 @ 8:49pm
Lordicewolf, You just hit "subscribe" and check the "Content" menu of your Shadowrun Returns main menu. Steam will automatically download and install any updates that I put out. If you have any issues, please feel free to report them in the Bug Repot Thread in the "discussions" tab above.
Lordicewolf 28 Dec, 2014 @ 7:43am

Great piece of work! It's worth to give it a try! :gargoyle:
Cleggster 16 Dec, 2014 @ 12:57pm
Wow, great idea. I say with a bit of chagrin since I have been working on a remake of the Nuromancer computer gmae for a while now. But mine kinda turned into somthing else as I developed my editing skills. So all the power to you and making this a great ongoing story.
Quazar 16 Dec, 2014 @ 9:27am
Keep it up, your are doing a great work.
Boateye  [author] 14 Dec, 2014 @ 1:14pm
Thanks for the positive feedback so far everyone! As I stated in the description, this is my first UGC/mod and I have had my doubts about whether this is worth my time or not. It's really reassuring to know that there are people that like this idea. Shadowmancer is already at 275 subscribers and it was released less than a week ago!

Rest assured, I am working very hard on fleshing out this first episode. My goal is for this to be a great companion piece to Neuromancer, and do it justice. I can be a bit of a perfectionist, so expect some very large and quality updates in the near future.
