Sound like you've got it figured out - thanks for that. I can go back and adjust as you suggested to fix it.

Thanks again!

Wow, apparently I hit the character limit for the first time. Heck, I didn't even know there WAS a character limit.I had attached the below paragraph to my last comment, but it didn't fit, apparently...

I had a few other things I'd like to talk to you about with a couple of your other designs, mainly just some ideas to bounce off you, but a few troubleshooting things. I'd love to be able to talk to you in private. If you're interested, send me a friend request, please.

So, I've determined that frdonnan's diagnosis is wrong. The issue is that the conveyor tube can't be built ON the projector. I tested this by moving the projection one block forward, which unfortunately means the tube is out of range of the grinder. Activating the load sequence builds the torpedo, and if I manually grind the conveyor tube, I can initiate the fire sequence and it functions normally.

So, really, it's a matter or moving the grinder and, if aesthetics are an issue, the welders. Because of the welder's range, they will function as is with a relocated projector. But the grinder's limited range means that it must be moved to function properly. I don't know how the timer blocks are set up, and am kinda scared to mess with them, so I'm not comfortable moving the grinder myself, but at least I've determined the REAL problem here. Knowing the actual problem makes fixing it a whole lot easier, I'm sure.-

You're welcome! :D

The launch system for this version of the Tethys was broken by an update (not sure which one – see frdonnan’s comment below for an explanation). I just tried loading in the original Enceladus and Tethys from the steam workshop and was able to do so without issue. I have found that the steam blueprint list can take a while to update; and that, once updated, can appear to not change until I scroll up or down and/or erase a previous search. I am sorry it isn’t working for you atm, but I hope that might help. As for the collection, I moved in a different direction where my Void Corp collection is all without mods and survival compatible, and now this collection will be using mods to expand the possibilities on larger ships. I did neglect to update the description; thanks you for pointing that out! Thanks for your interest – I’ll see about a fix or a new design for torpedoes without mods in the future :)
Happy Engineering!

P.S. The collection's description says you wouldn't be using mods, so what happened with the Tethys Alpha?
KitsuneKas 29 Apr, 2015 @ 8:27pm
Has the issue with this design been fixed? I like the Tethys Alpha design, but I'm looking to build a torpedo ship on aserver without block mods, and I'd like to try this one out.

At the moment, though, I can't even seem to bring it up in the blueprints menu in-game. I've subscrbed, and all the other blueprints I've used work fine, but this version of the tethys, the enceladus, and the accompanying torpedo, don't seem to function.

Thank you for saving me a lot of troubleshooting, frdonnan!

The conveyer tube on the torpedo when projected is not detected as an actual block so the projecter thinks the torpedo is out of range. This means it cannot be welded.

I just took a look after reading your message and it isn’t working for me either. This is an old design (there have been many updates to the game since). One of those updates must have changed something that rendered this design non-functional. I apologize for the disappointment, but I’ll look into getting fixed. You might be happy to know though, there is a new Tethys model coming very soon which is far better than this! Thanks for stopping by, and happy engineering!

(Sorry for accidently spelling wield wrong for last 2 wields)
nurpp 12 Apr, 2015 @ 9:14pm
Hey Gopescope, I'm a big fan of these space ships, I got the Frigate and the Light Carrier, But for this one, I was so excited to test this out, but when I pressed the button to wield the torpedo, it wouldnt weild, and the weilders just turned red, any ideas?
Overkill Device 8 Feb, 2015 @ 4:21pm
i figured it out, dont enable handbrake
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 8 Feb, 2015 @ 2:45pm
Sorry, wheels are something I haven't done anything with in this game, yet.
Overkill Device 7 Feb, 2015 @ 5:37am
ill have to play with that. also, do you know how to make wheels roll, i cant get them to move?
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 6 Feb, 2015 @ 8:26pm
You could adjust the timers so that they run the grinders and welders for shorter durations in order to make them function on higher speed settings.
Overkill Device 6 Feb, 2015 @ 4:21pm
Although if there was a way to make it work on any setting, that would be cool.
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 4 Feb, 2015 @ 7:48pm
Glad it is working for you!
Overkill Device 4 Feb, 2015 @ 3:31pm
It works on realistic, oops.
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 4 Feb, 2015 @ 1:35am
I've tested it in creative and didn't have any problem so I don't think that should matter. Did you check to make sure you were on "realistic" settings for welding and grinding? Also, are you doing some hard maneuvering while you’re operating the torpedo? It is possible for the grinder to be temporarily out of position if maneuvering a certain way with a lot of force – although for me it has only ever caused it not to grind.
Overkill Device 3 Feb, 2015 @ 1:15pm
i was doing it in creative, could that be the reason?
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 2 Feb, 2015 @ 7:53pm
I just loaded the blueprint up and tried the torpedo on realistic settings for grinding and welding and I couldn’t get it to malfunction. I did however find and fix a problem where (with thruster damage on) turrets were being destroyed by maneuvering – so thanks for helping me find that!
If you are already on realistic settings for weld and grind, I would suggesting adjusting the displacement of the advanced rotor the grinder is connected to in order to move the grinder farther back from the body of the torpedo. We’ll get this working for you one way or another!
Thanks 
Overkill Device 1 Feb, 2015 @ 2:30pm
The prep cutter cuts half of the torpedo apart and ive tryed all of the controls in different ways, maybe im just not getting it?
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 1 Feb, 2015 @ 12:57am
Do you have the grinding settings on realistic? If not it will cut too quickly and it won't work properly. Let me know if that doesn't fix the issue.

Thanks!
Overkill Device 31 Jan, 2015 @ 7:12am
the torpedo prep cutter always cuts the torpedo loose, i cant fix it
BlackWater 30 Jan, 2015 @ 6:52pm
AH! most clever, I hadn't considered that, Thanx for responding :)
EdgarAllanPwn  [author] 29 Jan, 2015 @ 9:34am
Thanks BlackWater, I’m glad you are enjoying the ships.

As to the issue with the torpedo: I am guessing that you were firing at an undefended target. If that is the case, I would suggest that you edit the torpedo blueprint in your world by just deleting the armor block and maybe an artificial mass block from the front of the torpedo so that the warhead can hit directly, or maybe just have one block between it and the target. The way the torpedo is designed, it is intended to lose some of its forward facing protection from incoming enemy fire. Without losing that protection, it can strike a target and not detonate.

Please let me know if that isn’t what is going on and I’d be happy to take a look and fix whatever is going on.

Happy Engineering!
BlackWater 14 Jan, 2015 @ 3:35am
I loved all your designs, and I REALLY like this one, tried the torpedoe out and it just bounced off the target...is the a range consideration or have I missed something, also, I tested in creative. I pray you get this soon, as I'm DYING to blow away a certain someone with it tomorrow...:) Not you Swervin, I wouldnt fire on my friend...:)
