@ Vyse The notification bar was removed from this version of A SS mod. Your issue is caused by having an old config, and can be resolved by following the "fresh install" files you must delete. (It is at the very bottom of this addon's description).

Btw's is it possible to disable the notification bar that pops up on the top of the screen every now and again? Kinda annoying to have it constantly poping up reminding me of something i already know.

Seeing as the usage has topped off and I am no longer interested in continuing development for Gmod: I will release v1.4 in the next weeks which will fix the remaining minor aesthetic problems with the new plugins and add a numerical select for the speed plugin.

Although I am stopping development, any serious bugs will be corrected so long as someone posts a comment letting me know.

Feel free to make a branch off of my work and continue it if you are inclined.

This is a Garry's Mod bug/issue with having too many addons installed OR an incompatible addon.

It is also possible your local player is not set as an admin. Verify you are already owner with ass_giveownership.

Another question. Is it normal that when I open up the menu, there's only a settings tab that only has a clear config option? All the other options I see in the mod, I have to do by console. I haven't been able to test this with any others in the server.

How do I give myself ownership for a dedicated server?
There are two ways.
1a) Open ASSmenu, hover over 'Rcon' and click the 'Custom...' button.
1b) Type ass_giveownership "<name here>"
2) Use the dedicated server's console (not the in-game console) and type:
ass_giveownership "<name here>"

This assumes you are on the server and give yourself ownership.

I think as far as I've noticed the bug with Cloak spamming errors is cleared up -- however it might just be the maps I'm playing on, no idea but if you tried to fix it then thanks all the same :)

Can't use ASS on my listed server, and no it is not dedicated its local, I type in ass_giveownership then my name and it says access denied, i have tried ulx and other admin command stuff and they dont work they just give me access denied even though IM THE FUCKING OWNER.

@ Budgierock Yes, but not yet via the GUI. You will need to manually edit ass_shared.lua in the '/lua' folder of Local ASSmod. It may be easier to unsubscribe from this page and pull the latest version from github (see description).

@ [ExtRem] Lapin Oh wow you are alive! I am honored you posted here. I did not end up contacting you though, I went through gmod libraries and found what I needed. I did not plan to cloak handsmodel and viewmodel, so that is okay. I thought GryMod had a full 'cloak' effect on both?

Plus , you can't Cloak The viewmodel and the handsmodel at the same time.

I can't spawn HL2 weapons with this mod, I can spawn them with the toolgun, but not otherwise...

A big thank you to @ Vinni Pukh for the idea of NPC cloak and help testing the new 1.3.1x beta update! 1.3.1x is now public, 1.3.2 will bring proper Enable/Disable to the new [revised cloak plugin] NPC Cloak [called Cloak (beta)] and will fix the world-model weapon from showing. Further an optional field to enable the viewmodel from being shown/hidden will be offered and/or post processing.

Interesting suggestion. The cloak plugin is in beta [newest change] and is intended for film use (although it is currently lacking for that use, with worldmodel issues etc). I may implement a "NPC cloak" plugin with what you described- and actually, this may be accomplished sooner than later, as Lapin achieved what you ask for in GryMod [discontinued last time I checked], so I will contact him and see what I can do.

I would really like some sort of plugin or an improved claok that would make it so enemy npcs couldn't see specific players and attack them, but other than that the whole mod is great so far :)

Fixed the problem, I installed some new addons which made it not work. So I just uninstalled all the addons that I installed after I had assmod and now its perfectly fine.

Sorry to hear about that. I have changed the map changer code- but the issue you are having is one I have yet to see. I see you are running a dedicated server- which note this addon is not designed for- but really using dedi should not cause an error like this. My advice would be to try ONLY mounting this addon with no others and see what happens. I will add you to further assist.

I'm having a slight problem with this mod and I'm not quite sure what it means. I've tried a fresh install and this still shows up. I think its causing my server to say its out of date too.

At this time [v1.3] the weapon restrictions have not been altered. I have not worked on fixing this issue as I have had other projects, and quite honestly L-ASSmod v1.3 has been stable so far throughout the game updates. If I ever come back to fix L-ASSmod if an update completely breaks it, I will definitely revisit fixing restrictions while I am fixing the main code. I might have a successor to L-ASSmod at some point, in which I will update this page accordingly.

Also, a bit late but Dante's problem was solved. See "fresh install" if the same issue happens to you.

So I tried that, now it's just showing us both as Super Admins and not owners. I can't set her as any other rank because she "has same or better access then you.", I can no longer pick her up, neither of us can use slap, etc. The menu shows us both as the lightning bolt icon, aka super admin. When I try to set myself as the owner again there, I just get "Access denied! "Lilith" has same or better access then you.". If I use the console I get this.
