i can tell you now the issue with not moving after touching another block is because of its power i have a shuttle that does the same thing when i try to move away from a station with vanilla ion thrusters but the second im not connected anymore they work fine

as par my below comment, id love something liek that for use wiht the realsitic thruster physics mods.. so these things can eb wverywhere to turn my ship while i balance the big thrusters on the centre of mass to propell and strafe?.

as for a multidorectional one... maybe just make it a retextured gyro that produces a thruster plume based off of power consumption.... and consums oxygen if you take my idea from befor?

- would it all be possible to make it consume oxygen withought having a direct connection (add an optiont o oxygen tanks to 'allow use as feul') and boost the strength back up to that of a small ion thruster and haveit require 'almost' no power.
- alos make a 1x1x1 large ship version?

Could you make an atmospheric thruster that needs air intakes (like in ksp) that look kind of like the vertical and diagonal "windows" ingame?
Would add a lot to realism and immersion.

maybe an inbuilt Gyroscope version, that uses it's thrusts for aethstetics but when you roll, the RCS puff in the directing of the roll, (Lacking in Logic!)

I would also love to see this for large ships. Since I play with "voxel support" turned on, I'm looking for a compact, weak thruster to hold a space station in position via dampeners (since any station not attached to a voxel will be a large ship).

True you would, But most RCS Systems are fed the needed Preshurised Air or what ever else they feel like usign in them. Just thought it would be cool to have the Option for those out there that have a Hard on for Realism.

Is this still a problem these days?

"Known issues:
Thrusters cannot thrust after ship touch any other block. Probably related to thrusters weak force, or lack of thrust damage. Don't know how to fix. Try to wriggle a bit with gyros to move away, that very often helps."

You mention "When there will be such possibility", while I don't know about omnidirectional, it IS possible to make multidirectional thrusters. Embershard made some back in late 2014, but took them down because people weren't very nice to him. Perhaps you can try asking him about how he did it?

@Darth Biomech - I would be very grateful to see a large ship version of this.

MY requirements are for a transit system. I am using the new GPS based autopilot, but in order for it to work I need to have thrusters in all directions (or it doesnt seem to work), however this currently means that even using a 1x1x1 thruster, i have to increase the length of the transit vehicle by 4 blocks to accomodate this. All i really need is a forward and a reverse thruster, as the vehicle is also on tracks.
O yeah, the transit system is in a asteroid so the tunnel is only 3x3 wide, hense why I am trying to keep the vehicle small.

It is posssible, but why? The very idea of this thing is that you can stripe it onto anything and anywhere. and it's not like it would benefit from being more powerful.

I tested them on default small ship, and I think there should be at least 4 of them at each side.

I tried these now. Problem is: They are way too weak. A 50,000 kg small ship does not move at all with 2 RCS thrutsers attached in one direction.
I think you should tweak the thruster force a bit.
Currently they are only usable for very small ships. But these do normally not need manuvering thrusters, because they have no extreme acceleration anyway.

I see more use for a large ship version, as small ships are usually pretty manuverable even with short bursts.
But large ships are difficult to manuver in tight spaces like docks due to their extreme mass and thus their inertia.
Plus: Large ships thrusters do quite some damage to station armor blocks.

Maybe this will be possible to create if there will be transfer of rope mechanic to SE from Medieval Engineers, but currently it is impossible.

Hmm, that is a good point. What if, is it possible to make a magnetic tether that shoots out and pulls a larger ship slowly in, with a bumper to take the small impact? It would also need to be paired with a piston varient sort of thing to push you back out.

I created this mod for the specific purpose of helping small ships to not thrash small and compact docking bays with thruster damage. Large ships have no such problem, plus they are huge and heavy, so efficient RCS thruster for them should be so powerful that in the end it'll too should deal damage.

Maybe because the intended purpose is to create tug boats that would guide larger vessels into port? So larger ships don't need this.
