it looks like eu4 players either want nerfed natives or even more powerful natives

Awesome, add me and then feel free to reach out when you have time. I've already started working on a submod to go with Extended Timeline
Ryou  [author] 21 Oct, 2021 @ 2:58pm
Sure, once I have some time I'd love that.
Wolves in the Throne Room 21 Oct, 2021 @ 2:49pm
I have made several personal modifications (rather than complete publish ready mods) to make the North American tribes more realistic, if you'd be into making a version of this closer to the American Revolution to Victorian period I have the historical realism aspect covered and I'm decent with modding the game
TheDieWander 21 Jul, 2021 @ 9:51am
i think the tribes should have just kept their original size
Ryou  [author] 4 Apr, 2020 @ 3:50am
If I ever have the time to actively work on mods again it's definitely on my to-do list.
KM.One 3 Apr, 2020 @ 6:06pm
Is it possible for you to add South America too. North America is full, south america looks empty now. Love the mod!
Ryou  [author] 14 Feb, 2020 @ 3:19pm
Ah, yeah, I haven't looked into any of the Mesoamerican civs, their dynamic works a bit different than North American tribes.

Ryou  [author] 10 Feb, 2020 @ 4:24pm
Weird, yeah, you should be able to build boats, what nation in particular were you playing? Maybe I messed something up. I haven't had much chance to test the mod myself.
Florry 10 Feb, 2020 @ 3:10pm
Hey! I have the mod and I still cant build boats because I'm a "primitive" nation. I'm wondering if this is because another mod I have or just a thing with the mod
Ryou  [author] 20 Nov, 2019 @ 2:30pm
Hey man, thanks for the input! Yeah, I'm well aware of the discrepancies, this mod is actually merged with another mod that causes those territory changes. If I had the time I'd actually try and include more Native tribes rather than just the handful that are included in EU4, there's mods out there that do that and I'm in contact with their creators for a merge but as life is pretty busy so I cannot give you an ETA on any of it.

Appreciate the resources, in any event.
Samuël 19 Nov, 2019 @ 5:50pm
This is a great mod but I cant help but mention the discrepancies in the map and territories given to the natives. Could you please change them so they fit the actual historical territories? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/85/Algonquian_map.svg/1024px-Algonquian_map.svg.png
Here's a source for the Algonquin peoples.

Here's another one for the east coast peoples. Maliseet are closely related to the Abenaki

Alright ladies and gents, I reworked a lot of the mechanics in this mod for 1.29, hopefully everything works as intended. Name also changed from "Rebalanced Tech Groups" to "Native Rebalance", in case you're confused.
Ryou  [author] 14 Sep, 2019 @ 4:15pm
Hey, can you elaborate on that? There's a couple things in this that don't quite work the way I want them to ever since Paradox implemented Feudalism and what not, but outside of that it should work just fine.
ZombieKiller96 14 Sep, 2019 @ 12:21pm
There is nothing when I try to download this.
Ryou  [author] 29 May, 2017 @ 8:56pm
Uh, I can look into it, surprised people still use it, but sure, should be doable. Gotta be around the weekend though, most likely.
House of Krey 29 May, 2017 @ 6:56pm
Can you update to the latest version please?
Miles Conagher 1 Mar, 2016 @ 7:09am
poland can now into space since eastern tech is the same as western now
Ryou  [author] 29 Dec, 2015 @ 1:32pm
Sorry on the delay, got a lot of stuff on my plate. I'll try to update the following days, but in case I forget, keep in mind you can always manually change the version number of any mod you like, oftentimes they don't need to be "updated", and it's as simple as changing the version number.

Fairly certain if you google that, you'll quickly find out how.
Puc 29 Dec, 2015 @ 10:51am
Thanks for this mod, I liked it very much !
Ryou  [author] 3 Sep, 2015 @ 3:38am
You're welcome!
TeddiesWithUzis 2 Sep, 2015 @ 10:25pm
Awesome, I love being able to play the non-western factions without being totally destroyed on first encounter!
Ryou  [author] 2 Sep, 2015 @ 4:16pm
Well, yeah, as long as there's demand I'll always update. I'll upload a new version shortly.
TeddiesWithUzis 2 Sep, 2015 @ 12:58pm
Are you planning on updating for version 1.13.x.x?
mmm grayons 10 Apr, 2015 @ 7:55am
@ryou I'd suggest giving them eastern tech(0.2). Also it's mostly a problem with timereds and Manchu as they can eat up India and China.
Ryou  [author] 31 Mar, 2015 @ 3:46am
@Dkyemistress11 What's your suggestion to balance this? I mean, be as it may, the AI isn't the smartest in this game, and even though hordes have proper tech now, they are still stuck with sub-par provinces. I could lower the rate at which they advance, or remove the Tribal Conquest CB altogether (although that would require me to find the files where that's specified). Fact is, I'm saying that all of their neighbours have essentially better provinces and advance faster as well now. Asia is much stronger, and the Eastern European countries will also be able to hold back the horde. But, please, tell me what you think would balance this and I'll see to fixing it.
mmm grayons 30 Mar, 2015 @ 9:06pm
@ryou, its the fact they get the tribal conquest CB, it was meant to be balanced out by them getting shitty tech later on, but without it you basically have a nation with on-par military that has permanent CB on everything. It's like getting imperialism from the beginning
Ryou  [author] 17 Mar, 2015 @ 1:25pm
@sizzlin2861
Silly me, I forgot about that! Sure thing.
sizzlin2861 17 Mar, 2015 @ 10:44am
Please update the direct link also, thanks!
Ryou  [author] 15 Mar, 2015 @ 4:37pm
@ojaiike
Should work just fine with everything in El Dorado, I didn't actually change anything other than the Tech Groups, so religions should be unaffected, if that's what you mean.
ojaiike 15 Mar, 2015 @ 3:04pm
does this work with the el dorado religions
Ryou  [author] 11 Mar, 2015 @ 3:24pm
@Jayce
No, thank YOU for using my mod! And apologies again that it took so long.
Jayce 11 Mar, 2015 @ 12:11pm
Thank you very much Ryou.
Ryou  [author] 11 Mar, 2015 @ 4:56am
Wow, I'm an idiot, I don't know why Steam always puts this on hidden after I update, but it's very annoying because the update has been out for 2 days and you guys didn't see it because of this mess, sorry again.
Ryou  [author] 9 Mar, 2015 @ 11:34am
Shit, I didn't expect an update so soon. Sorry it took so long guys, it's updated and should be working now, if not, let me know!
Jayce 9 Mar, 2015 @ 12:39am
Just to second the belwo request, any plans to update this for the new patch?
Matata 8 Mar, 2015 @ 11:39pm
could you update this mod for the new patch?
Ryou  [author] 3 Mar, 2015 @ 8:33am
@Dykemistress11
I'm aware that Europe had a scientific revolution, but what's to say would've happened when that revolution happened elsewhere? All nations had the same chance of evolution, we all started out as tribal people at one point. If history would've gone different, the East would've colonized the West. Suffice to say, there's not much you can do about that since EU4 starts in 1440 and rebalancing it back to such a point would require too much effort.

I was not aware they get OP, care to explain that a little? Are their militaries too big? I haven't actually played a Horde, so I wouldn't know, and I didn't really get around to play much EU4 with this mod as of late because of a lot of cool games coming out recently, but I haven't really noticed anything game-breaking in my games so far.
mmm grayons 3 Mar, 2015 @ 7:10am
I made a mod just like this one but with everyone except the west getting eastern tech, hoards getting hoard tech, and natives getting slightly worse eastern tech. It makes it a bit more historical because europe did have a scientific revolution going on that brought them to the center of technology, but makes it so playing a non-european nation isn't just doom.
One thing, if you do go with this, you should still give hoards a worse tech group, they get really OP if they stay on equal tech with everyone
Ryou  [author] 28 Feb, 2015 @ 5:36am
@Vanguard
It's not guaranteed that other countries behave differently. It just guarantees they don't fall behind in technologies. I actually highly recommend playing this with "Equal Opportunity Colonialism", as it extends colonization range for nations taking Exploration ideas. It's perfectly compatible with this mod, and you know what, I'll link it in the description now.

Just to let you guys know, this mod is fully functional with 1.10
necrothegreat 25 Feb, 2015 @ 10:11pm
All right i see what your sayin, realy good idea im realy liken it so far.
Ryou  [author] 25 Feb, 2015 @ 6:24pm
@necrothegreat That's actually on purpose, I've mentioned that in the description. North Americans have a Native Council that allows you to achieve 100% reduction on all technologies, so if they have standard costs, they would only have to pay 3 monarch powers in order to advance to the next technology level.
necrothegreat 25 Feb, 2015 @ 4:27pm
In North America the irriquos tech cost 100% more instead of standard
