I put the mod file in data folder
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Data)

I create a shortcut of Homeworld2.exe in desktop
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Bin\Release)

I modify the destiny
("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod territories.big)

But I still can't play, the game start and close.

So I try open the territories mod file with Homeworld2.exe and happen the same result
(right click, open with, select Homeworld2.exe)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but if someone want help me, I will thanks. And Aki, you talk about people don't want dedicate to learn, do you can recommend some material to we study?

absolutely love this mod. do you think you can try porting it to HW:RM? (unless you know how to mod, that's off the list :/)

aahhh, The old times at around the 90's to 2010 when manual installation was required......Damn Look how far valve has gone to make slacking worse (robbaz needs to pick up the pace on that cure!)

To be fair, it isn't revelling in superiority. Its making quite a fine point. Its all rather simple stuff if you have the patience to try. It definitely appears that people nowadays (no offence to 'people') just seem to want a 'one-click' solution.

This is why many of us get frustrated with Microsoft taking our digital freedom with every new version of Windows.

If you wish to navigate to your game folder, you can in fact use steam to go there. Find HW in your library, right click, select; 'properties', go into the tab; 'local files', then click; 'browse local files'. Voila, theres the folder you need to navigate about in.

wow, you guys really seem to enjoy reviling in your sense of superiority. Not everyone is blessed with such expierence in the PC field or just not as adept at picking it up. If you wnat to gloat and snicker to each other thats fine but some help would also be appreciated, for us peasents

the old fashion way of installing mods kinda miss these times. Everything is so simple now and guess a few extra clicks is too much for people now a days.

Confused? Its really simple if you are not lazy. It's basic computer knowledge, and if you don't know it, well... you're gonna have a bad time. It works though.

i sort of agree with profanity its just for those who dont have the experiance with this stuff they get confused. and with this type of launcher for hw it is hard to find a source file for the mods.

The old fasioned way was the only way to do it for a decade... Having installed countless mods this way, I think that the process is really simple and requires little brain function to achieve. Stop complaining and enjoy the mod.

Please update this mod so we can just simply subscribe to it

It's shitty you expect people to install this the old fashioned way, whitch is too frusterating to do with this version of HW2.

This mod kinda reminds me of a game i really like.....Sins of Solar Empire maybe?

Rworqx 4 Mar, 2015 @ 8:50am
well i would like to see this in remastered. as the first comment guy suggested.

You should probably take the effort to get it to work with the subscribe and mod menu if you want your mod to be played, otherwise don't put it on the workshop.

I'm afraid taht there does not appear to be a homeworld2.exe within the Steam folders. Not that I can see, at least.
Zachev 28 Feb, 2015 @ 2:21pm
This looks awesome. I really hope someone decides to port this to RM.
