You should never... NEVER... replace the default game files under ANY circumstances and there's reasons for why my mods are built in the way the are built.
If you spot any problems, let me know in the comments.
Right now I'm working on a complete remake of this version, containing all the changes that I've made to my sound mods since the beginning of this year. It might take a while before I can finally publish the update, but it will be worth the wait.
Have a nice day everyone!
At first, I would like to mention that my PC is now - finally - working properly again and also got some new goodies. I should from now on be able to record videos with a constant and lag-free quality.
Also, I have just unpacked the new CS:GO sound files and had a look at them. They sound really neat and I'm sure this will be fun to make.
However I currently am a little more busy than expected, so this sound mod is still on the hold. I should have enough time to work on that in a few days though.
Speaking of improvements. I have found that weapon sounds are a lot more interesting when they come with a few realistic extras, so any of my upcoming sound mods will be a lot more detailed and come with, for example, shell drop sounds (mostly contained in the gunfire files) and noticeable mechanical sounds like slide/bolt movement and such.
A few parts of my hardware broke, so I can't do anything by now. And I gave away my second keyboard to an asshole that broke that one too. Lucky me.
The planned sound mod is on the hold. Sorry for that.
Long story short, I do not plan on changing any of the files within this mod. Should I ever plan on going for the current (and horrible) weapon sounds in this bad game, I will rather publish them as a new mod than updating this one.
Right now, I'm working on a big gameplay mod for Max Payne 2. I should have my L4D2 files back when that Max Payne 2 mod is finished, I suppose.
