i'm keeping the old sounds for the weapons from L4D Survivors arcade weapons

The soundscape scripts are there to enhance the sound quality. They add reverb and pitch randomization and replace several sound file paths with different ones to make use of sound files that are better to work with in the first place.
You should never... NEVER... replace the default game files under ANY circumstances and there's reasons for why my mods are built in the way the are built.

With a little research, you can easily find the public ones on your own - by simply searching for the weapon names on GameMaps, GameBanan or in the Steam Workshop. If you don't find something, it's not available.

Update: Applied the newest version of my sound scripts to the mod.

If you spot any problems, let me know in the comments.

Got some good news for all you people out there who prefer this over the 2016 version.

Right now I'm working on a complete remake of this version, containing all the changes that I've made to my sound mods since the beginning of this year. It might take a while before I can finally publish the update, but it will be worth the wait.

Have a nice day everyone!

The updated CS:GO sound mod is completed and works perfectly. I will publish it in three days.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 18 Dec, 2016 @ 9:36pm
By the time of typing, the new CS:GO sound mod already is in development.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 18 Dec, 2016 @ 12:02am
Chances are that I might also include this in my older sound mods in later updates. I'll let you know about any changes in my plans.

Got some good news about the upcoming CS:GO weapon sound mod.
At first, I would like to mention that my PC is now - finally - working properly again and also got some new goodies. I should from now on be able to record videos with a constant and lag-free quality.
Also, I have just unpacked the new CS:GO sound files and had a look at them. They sound really neat and I'm sure this will be fun to make.
However I currently am a little more busy than expected, so this sound mod is still on the hold. I should have enough time to work on that in a few days though.

Speaking of improvements. I have found that weapon sounds are a lot more interesting when they come with a few realistic extras, so any of my upcoming sound mods will be a lot more detailed and come with, for example, shell drop sounds (mostly contained in the gunfire files) and noticeable mechanical sounds like slide/bolt movement and such.

Hope your PC to be repaired at an early date:chocola:

I am really sorry to tell you, but the CS:GO 2016 sound mod is still on the hold. I will soon be ready to head back to work and I WILL make this. I just need to get my PC to work again.
Superwilly Bluecat 9 Dec, 2016 @ 12:25am
Ready to publish new mod ? :steamhappy:
Royce the Charralope  [author] 10 Nov, 2016 @ 5:41pm
About my recent plans.

A few parts of my hardware broke, so I can't do anything by now. And I gave away my second keyboard to an asshole that broke that one too. Lucky me.
The planned sound mod is on the hold. Sorry for that.

can have only some sounds changed?
Superwilly Bluecat 15 Oct, 2016 @ 4:51am
How is the new sound mod going? We are looking forward to using it:D
Royce the Charralope  [author] 5 Oct, 2016 @ 1:25am
In fact, I already thought about making this before I answered your first comment. I was just exaggerating my opinion about the new sound files. :steammocking:
Gunslinger ☢ 4 Oct, 2016 @ 4:49pm
Not really clear, for all i know you changed your mind in 1 day
Royce the Charralope  [author] 4 Oct, 2016 @ 4:44pm
As I have already stated earlier - and this was definitely the final decision - I will not do any further changes to this mod. It might take a day or two, but I'll head to work on that as soon as possible.
Gunslinger ☢ 4 Oct, 2016 @ 4:39pm
@Robert J. F. Calais if you ported the new sounds, please keep these sounds, the new sounds suck, make them their own addon please.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 4 Oct, 2016 @ 2:04am
I don't wanna give any false promises, but I have already unpacked the current CS:GO weapon sound files. Yet I'm currently working on another (private) mod, so it might take some time before I can start working on this.
Superwilly Bluecat 3 Oct, 2016 @ 7:33am
We would be highly appreciated:ddgreengate:
Royce the Charralope  [author] 3 Oct, 2016 @ 6:43am
How was I supposed to know that? I played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for, like, three days and found that it is a bad game. Steam doesn't notify me about new updates, since I no longer have this game installed.

Long story short, I do not plan on changing any of the files within this mod. Should I ever plan on going for the current (and horrible) weapon sounds in this bad game, I will rather publish them as a new mod than updating this one.
Superwilly Bluecat 3 Oct, 2016 @ 6:30am
XD that valve update all csgo guns' sound:steamhappy:
Royce the Charralope  [author] 3 Oct, 2016 @ 6:15am
What exactly do you mean by that?
Superwilly Bluecat 3 Oct, 2016 @ 1:49am
update sound mod please~

v He's right, you know.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 18 Jul, 2016 @ 8:19am
I've got no respects for rude assholes like you. I suggest you to go to hell and take your bullshit with you.

FPS SUCKS POOP LIKE UR MAMA
Nephrite Harmony 25 Jun, 2016 @ 11:07pm
I wish there was a mod that gave you RNG p220 or a glock, instead of the p220 every time
Royce the Charralope  [author] 21 May, 2016 @ 1:08pm
This isn't a question. I guess you're trying to tell me that Twilight Sparkle has made yet another compile of the horrific CS:GO AWSM (yep, ain't no fucking AWP). I hate this gun.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 21 May, 2016 @ 1:00pm
If this was a question, I didn't get it.
Royce the Charralope  [author] 29 Apr, 2016 @ 5:18pm
You're welcome. : )
gav 29 Apr, 2016 @ 5:12pm
Lol, that is true, thanks!
Royce the Charralope  [author] 29 Apr, 2016 @ 5:10pm
Open up the developer console, type "cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor XX", where XX stands for the value that you'd like to get (and without the wuotation marks) and close the console. The default value is 52. I play with either 60 or 70, depending on the weapon that I use. You might want to try out different values between 60 and 90. Anything above usually looks weird.
gav 29 Apr, 2016 @ 5:09pm
i mean like how did you change the FOV
gav 29 Apr, 2016 @ 5:04pm
I like how the fov is, how did you do this (also awesome mod)
PENETRATOR69 26 Mar, 2016 @ 11:42pm
ok thx
Royce the Charralope  [author] 26 Mar, 2016 @ 4:22pm
From what I know, L4D2 never had any sound files for that. The internal sound engine just decreases the sound volume.
PENETRATOR69 26 Mar, 2016 @ 1:28am
does it have distant sounds?
Royce the Charralope  [author] 17 Jan, 2016 @ 7:56pm
Import both files into an audio editing program and you'll see the difference.
airi bunie ૮₍ ˃ ᵕ ˂ ₎ა 16 Jan, 2016 @ 5:16pm
Well, for me it has no difference, but that's my opinion
Royce the Charralope  [author] 16 Jan, 2016 @ 12:59pm
You're so wrong.
airi bunie ૮₍ ˃ ᵕ ˂ ₎ა 15 Jan, 2016 @ 9:03pm
AK has no difference though x3
ZombieNoLife 1 Dec, 2015 @ 4:11pm
Just take your time :) no need to be rushed, it's good that you expand to other games as well :steamhappy:
Royce the Charralope  [author] 1 Dec, 2015 @ 4:00pm
I'll do my best. However, currently I'm not working on anything for L4D2, because I can't access any of my files.
Right now, I'm working on a big gameplay mod for Max Payne 2. I should have my L4D2 files back when that Max Payne 2 mod is finished, I suppose.
ZombieNoLife 1 Dec, 2015 @ 3:55pm
You're welcome :) ;) Keep up the good work! :D
Royce the Charralope  [author] 1 Dec, 2015 @ 3:54pm
Thank you for your feedback. ; )
