The sad truth is that I can't keep up with KSH. They change the game frequently, and some of the stuff they implemented behind the scenes made it very difficult to control the ships. So while I could (easily?) "fix" the mod so that it loads into the newest version of the game, the enemies would not behave as expected. Maybe sometime down the road (once the game API stabilizes), I will look for a fix. Hopefully KSH will implement something of this sort on their own before then.
Yes the mod works (sort of). Some (many?) ships have issues with turning properly. That problem is difficult to fix, but I am working on it as time permits.
(Also, sorry for the year-long reply! Does this even work anymore?)
