Does this reduce research points generated or increase the research point cost of techs?
Guvenoren 28 Apr, 2022 @ 6:31pm
What is the difference between this mod and the other mods that increase cost of researches?

Thank for answering back. This was what i was looking for, just want to be able to build more stuff without letting the AI snowball ahead of me
Culthrasa  [author] 24 Aug, 2020 @ 4:10am
been a while, but yes, I believe so. Otoh it is a mod to make the game more challenging for the human player... :)
bobiathan 24 Aug, 2020 @ 3:48am
Does this mod also slow the production time for the AI?
Culthrasa  [author] 26 Aug, 2018 @ 10:36am
cheers GreedyMob! Enjoy!
GreedyMob 26 Aug, 2018 @ 7:11am
Thank you for making this mod! Now I don't have to make my own :) I just can't play this game without slowing down research. It's unbearable how fast the game progresses in vanilla speed and leaves the early eras barely touched!

Honestly I'm just as confused as you are I dont know what to think at this point.
Culthrasa  [author] 5 Jul, 2016 @ 6:16am
And nations who met eachother give a bonus to tech's already researched. So did you have tech they didn't for example? and where you researching tech's they had but you hadn't? Lots of variables to take into account...
Culthrasa  [author] 5 Jul, 2016 @ 6:14am
Can you look through the editor and see if they acclumated more pop or new cities for example? They also get a growth bonus and such so they might just be out researching you in beakers...
Drive (2011) 4 Jul, 2016 @ 7:15pm
But still the AI still manages to be much farther ahead in tech than they usually do with this mod. I've been playing on King for ages and I've never seen them get so far ahead.
Culthrasa  [author] 4 Jul, 2016 @ 2:21pm
the AI gets bonuses on King... probably explains your test results...

King
Culthrasa  [author] 3 Jul, 2016 @ 3:14pm
which is separate from this mutliplier....
Culthrasa  [author] 3 Jul, 2016 @ 3:13pm
Which difficulty where you playing at? That influences the research bonus they get.
Drive (2011) 3 Jul, 2016 @ 12:30pm
I did a 1v1 scenario with the AI and gave both mine and their cities the exact same population through the editor mod. I also made sure to have the same social policies, buildings, etc as the AI in an effort to make our science output the exact same. However, the AI (note with the exact same setup as me) had a significant boost in research compared to mine, which is weird since their civ didn't have any science bonuses (Germany vs America). So in conclusion one can only assume that this mod only affects the player, not the AI.
Culthrasa  [author] 3 Jul, 2016 @ 3:55am
question, how did you test it? And seems strange. Cause it changes a parameter that the AI also uses (since it's depended on game speed too and they check for that....)
Drive (2011) 2 Jul, 2016 @ 3:05pm
THIS ONLY SLOWS RESEARCH FOR YOU AND NOT THE AI I just tested this.
SandPounder 21 May, 2016 @ 3:15pm
Alright, thanks for getting back to me. At the time it just seemed the AI was catching up a little too fast despite great library + korea bonus and high population
Culthrasa  [author] 18 May, 2016 @ 1:24am
@sandpounder, sorry i haven't replied sooner, missed your comment... Yes, this slows down the research for everybody.... If you are behind, then you don't have enough research income... the great libary alone won't cut it... my suggestion, focus on pop's... they are your main source of research.. the rest is just multipliers...
SandPounder 8 Mar, 2016 @ 7:16pm
may be a stupid question, but is the 50% slower for all civs or just the player?
i noticed when i tried this one, despite having great library AIs were ahead of me in research
VEC 12 Dec, 2015 @ 9:50pm
why?
axatoramus 21 Aug, 2015 @ 4:50pm
One of the BEST mods out there, thank you!!!

Finally a mod that ONLY SLOWS RESEARCH and doesnt tamper with anything else!
Culthrasa  [author] 28 Jun, 2015 @ 5:40am
There are other slower research mods out there too (30% to 400%). Have you tried those and gotten the same issue? For me all these work well including this one i'd made my own. And if the problem also exists with no mods, then it's probably it's not related to the mod.... Civ has a good system for loading mods (or not loading them). Only thing i can think of is if you have a mod installed in a DLC pack (you can change mods into a DLC), that gets loaded everytime. With or without additional mods...
superscore999 27 Jun, 2015 @ 9:31pm
i have found this is now happening with no mods instaled as well
superscore999 27 Jun, 2015 @ 9:06pm
no only this mod
Culthrasa  [author] 27 Jun, 2015 @ 7:49am
thats something i never encoutered before.. are you using other mods who influence reseachspeed? Since only one of them actually works when multiple are trying to change the same number (in this case the research-speed-modifier)
superscore999 27 Jun, 2015 @ 6:28am
for me it only works for two turns then all research is completed 50% faster than normal
Culthrasa  [author] 1 Jun, 2015 @ 7:31am
You hear that peeps... Best mod ever ! :) cheers mate!
Jack Greedy 1 Jun, 2015 @ 12:31am
Best mod for Civ mechanics ever. Does what it tells, no more "slow" as f...k everything, only slower science thus more fun in every era becouse it does not slow down production.
Culthrasa  [author] 18 May, 2015 @ 9:15am
Cheers for the positive comments Siminis and Misguided!
Siminis 18 May, 2015 @ 5:59am
Finaly a "research slowing mod" that Only alters the research speed instead off alter tings like library output or era speed etc.
Stuchoo 17 May, 2015 @ 4:58pm
very good
Culthrasa  [author] 15 May, 2015 @ 6:57am
I agree, and you're welcome :)
chicken chaser 14 May, 2015 @ 7:22pm
this should be a should have been a option in since the first one this is a good one
Culthrasa  [author] 10 May, 2015 @ 8:09am
you're welcome.. there are some others out there too, but i found that 30% is too little, and 100% is too much. Now a good player goed into the era's at about the right time.. (it makes the game longer, but more enjoyable for me :)
scottkbeers 9 May, 2015 @ 7:06pm
Thanks for this im trying now.
