Great map! What I like the most is the design which is magnifico! Realmente me gusta mucho :)
I love this work on the textures; it's really beautifull.

I'm in the same case than Bullfrog : the second part was more difficult because of that tricky move he discribed.
I also agree with Asd417 and Kiserian; in the sense of you don't need to include "tries and luck moves" in your maps, they are good enough without...

Also nice electric piano music, congrats!
One more thumb up! :)

Great puzzle. Reading other peoples comments; funny, I did the first OK, it was the second one I needed to take a peep at the walkthrough; the bit where you use the light-bridge to flip the cube over onto the floor portal surface, I've seen the move before, but just didn't think of it.
jandlml 23 Mar, 2018 @ 10:51pm
another excellent map. love the cubes, very pretty. needed one tiny hint towards the end of the first room .

Great map. Design and logic.
zeo1337 5 Apr, 2017 @ 9:26am
We all got stuck on the first puzzle, but i did do the second one by myself :D
asd417 30 Mar, 2017 @ 4:58am
Using faithplate to throw the cube to myself or Using Light bridge to offset the cube from the button move made me dislike this map. Why does it have to include at least one of these annoying move with pretty high fail probability? The visuals and the music were so good so I'll give you thumbs up because I know how hard it is to create custom assets and to actually make it look good. I'm pretty sure it took you longer to make custom assets than to design the puzzle.

Dude, ur maps are very stunning visually. I find a bit dislikable the fact that you make too much use of... lucky mechanics (solutions that depend on few tries and luck rather than thinking skill, or making use of ninja moves -like the first part of the second puzzle-). Its something you used in other of ur maps, like aftermath or Schrödiger's Cat. IMO your maps would be a lot better without using that kind of mechanics, because actually you don't need them. For example, Aftermath's first puzzle is BRILLIANT, and does not make use of ninja moves nor chance physics. Still, excellent work bud, I hope to see more maps like this soon :D
zwan33 2 May, 2016 @ 12:32pm
Wowowow! Both parts are extraordinary! Had to do them in two evenings, because I was stunned by the puzzles (after having been stunned by the visuals and by the soundscape).
Haggis 15 Nov, 2015 @ 11:06am
You truly are the king of custom maps, those cubes were stunning. Had to look at your walkthrough. The first puzzle where you had to get the cube on the floor button behind the laser field, i actually thought about doing that, but i could not figure out how it could be achieved. The second room, there was no way i was coming up with that solution. Once again, another beautiful map :-).

very good i love it

And stunning music to listen, sounds 18th ceuntry, very like those.
TG 29 Aug, 2015 @ 12:28pm
I think it's your best hammer work so-far, I really like the red color (personally also). I was quite surprised no light strips were used, or I didn't noticed. Great visuals, brutal puzzle, liked, favorited, thanks for creating.
10/10, don't see any con, if there is, please tell me.
Octahedron 29 Jul, 2015 @ 4:32pm
Oh and I actually beat this one, sadly steam doesn't give me an achievement. :(
Octahedron 29 Jul, 2015 @ 4:32pm
Did you play some Kingdom Hearts right before desinging this map? I don't know why but the vibe/theme/piano music reminded me of it. Still great map though.
Special Agent Dale Cooper 8 Jul, 2015 @ 4:33pm
Nice map :)
First part took me some time, second part was much easier IMHO. What makes the first part difficult is that there are two ways to get the cube up to the upper area and only one part works for the solution. Quite enjoyable overall, perfectly designed and with a nice soundtrack, thank you!
Keep up the good work

Hehe, thanks for reporting, man! This time it was my bad :p Made some tries on reducing the music tracks' filesize in GoldWave, and after I decided I didn't want to lower the tracks' quality, I forgot to make the soundscapes to grab the right music file... Fixed now ;)
The Sojourner 24 Jun, 2015 @ 12:24am
* Sees respawn button by the entrance and feels a whole lot better *
Seems everything made it in: soundscapes, visuals. Only the first music is missing (dang embed tools, eh? :P). Then again, I see the filesize is pushed to the limit. Oh well...
josepezdj  [author] 16 Jun, 2015 @ 1:41am
Hahaha... my dear friend Tullio (Sleter), how funny and nice you are to me! :D Thank you so much for such a lovely comment <3 I'm really happy that you liked the map and so satisfied to watch your walkthrough and how you completely performed the intended solution! ;)

Cheers!

Btw, I'm finishing the custom soundscapes, and the new version of the map will be ready to go later today, hopefully fixing all discussed bugs.

AMAZING: Einstein returned and draws maps for Portal 2.
It is behind the nick name of Josepezdj but we have an incredible photographic evidence:

Esteemed Albert is a great pleasure to have you still with us and appreciate his work for science. Many Thanks and Satisfactions !

@TS_Mind_Swept, looks intended to me. Nice catch with the exploit too.

For the record, the light strips appearing in Aperture Valentine was 100% not your fault. I'm sure by now you've figured that out though. Just a simple glance at the screenshots and the "Updated" date reminded me of that. Still weird though (and yet the color scheme seemed so convincing for a moment...) :P

Before I forget...

Don't worry! I thought it was I who had deleted my own review so I re posted ^^ I imagine in fact that you have many creation; in fact I was mostly interested in your customs models (whatever they are) because I don't know how to create them myself ! (It should stand on my disk :D)
No problem! I'm working on a map with hammer, I tell you if there is a worry :)
I have some custom textures, i can to send you if you want !
Ps: I created new instances that could interest people, but I can not register on TWP for sharing them! If you knew how to fix it .. Thanks again for your attention and continue !!)
TS_Mind_Swept 8 Jun, 2015 @ 11:57am
You're welcome for the video, i wish i could record with a better video quality, but idk how to change it in OBS (if anyone knows I welcome the information).
As for the placement helper exploit, clipping isn't why i could get a portal on the surface from the other side of the glass, and actually the only reason i thought of it was cause i had a similar issue in a map of my own. There was an emancipation grill over a portal surface, and if you shot the models a portal got pulled behind the thing, ehich should be impossible, but i figured out that it was probably the placement helper doing it. So what i did (because in that case i needed it to be 96 units) was i had the helper start disabled and enable when the feild went down, and that fixed the problem. It's not something most ppl think about, and its also not something many ppl encounter, but its definitely something to keep an eye out for. Cheers :citranium:

@kwinten: WTF?? Man, I'm so sorry... I seem to have erased your previous comment >.< I remember to have read it but if I go backwards in the comments page I can't find it anymore! My apologies, never intended to erase it. Thanks for your interest in my stuff!

I will send some of Empire content to you as I told you, however, please don't ask me to send everything I've made so far! :D LOL, you'll need MUCH disk space to keep it! :p Anyways, feel free to let me know if I can help you on something custom that you need specifically for a given map fior example, ok? Cheers!
kwinten 8 Jun, 2015 @ 7:52am
@josepezdj De nada ! In fact i gave you my mail if you wanted to join it your models/textures you have hehe :) I work with hammer in a custom project, all of new stuff is welcome ;)

Thanks for pointing out that bug with the angled panel, it's a Valve's instance, and that's what annoyes me the most! Will make my own because everyone has complained about it! And thanks for the rest of nice comments and super nice score!! :D <3

@Octane Twisted: YES!! I'm so happy that you eventually finished it and liked afterall. :D I think challenging puzzles simply needs more time than the others to be solved and maybe some hint here and there... ... not much more! Thanks for your comments!

@phyneas: sorry for not posting the official solution video yet... I was deakling with Greys' DoubleYou impressively solid new puzzle! Nice that TS_Mind_Swept posted his! Thanks by the way, man! I will post mine along this week after I update the map
josepezdj  [author] 8 Jun, 2015 @ 6:40am
@Nobody No-One: Cheers! Thanks for continue testing! :D I'm so happy that you eventually managed it with some hints. And thanks for yourr comments on my maps. It's true that I get bored making every-day-all-players chambers :P I simply prefer to discover and try new mechanics and I do love hard maps... I guess this all makes me to make this kind of puzzles. But I think all of us have a place in the community, right? Again, thanks for playing my stuff and liking it besides the difficulty ;)

@| \_/ (): YAY! Awesome that you finished it! :D FYI, I have yet to play like 2-3 maps by you I have in my queue, mate, sorry but I've been truly busy lately... well, more usually than lately ... Will play them within this week and the next one! Eager to play that "WallButtons (advanced)" ;)
josepezdj  [author] 8 Jun, 2015 @ 6:36am
(continued)

About that grate, no, it's not that (it is a stock grate texture btw :P), it's just that it looks like that, but in fact it is a short separation between the portalable surface behind the grates. Easy fix, don't worry. Regarding the bridge not trepassing the first chamber's grate, it's just that I never thought it would be important, but if it feels unnatural due the rest grates' behavior in the map, I'll change it ;)

And no red herrings intended, only some white panels to avoid trapping.

Muchas gracias por reconocerme un buen trabajo, amigo ;) Me alegro de que finalmente resolvieras ambas cámaras y en general te gustasen! :D
josepezdj  [author] 8 Jun, 2015 @ 6:36am
@p0rtalmaster: Thanks for the usual detailed feedback, my friend! :D really appreciate it. Hadn't got the time to polish the map as I would like to... it was a top busy month. Since I was disqualified I'll edit it along this week fixing all issues and addding the proper soundscapes and music that resumes after reloading ;)
The lightcovers aren't the same as in Aperture Valentine. I always start from zero when creating those ;) I always try them to fit with the rest of the custom theme, and in this case they might be quite similar will have to replay Aperture Valentine or check my records to compare them because I can't really remember them :p
LOL, third person (if I counted up correctly) saying the same about the 2 puzzles difficulty :D How difficult it is to decide for me about these things... sorry :S
josepezdj  [author] 8 Jun, 2015 @ 6:03am
@quatrus: hehe, weird... Idolon said the same at TWP... I would have sworn the 1st one was much easier... but I'm definitely wrong... I might invert both chambers, dunno. Anyways, since 1st one is more based in logic and none tricky move, I prefer it to be the first one :p

@TS_Mind_Swept & Ace Ryder: Thanks so much for playing, guys! <3 And thank you so much for such an awesomely detailed feedback! Much appreciate it! :D I well noted about that placement helper being too wide, will check out and diminish it, if that's the real cuase, although I might add some clipping brushes or whatever to make sure you can't open a portal from such a distance. About music, forget about that, it's no my fault, it's how buggy soundscripts seem to behave... I will use soundscapes instead, as I already mentioned... or will play .WAVs directly...

phyneas 8 Jun, 2015 @ 5:50am
Thank you very much for the solution video, TS_Mind_Swept, it was extremely helpful.
TS_Mind_Swept 7 Jun, 2015 @ 11:52pm
Alright, so here is my walkthough which I think is the intended solution, but I could be wrong. And here is an exploit I found in the second part thanks to that placement helper i mentioned previously.
phyneas 7 Jun, 2015 @ 11:08pm
I've read through the comments but I can't divine the meaning of quatrus' hint; can someone please explain it to me in greater detail. Or, if it is the case, what the required special trick/technique is to solve both chambers.
addicted 7 Jun, 2015 @ 11:45am
Okay, I've managed to complete the map, the first chamber using your hint, the second I've done alone.

I have to say this is the hardest map I've every played, thank you for sharing it with us, I had great fun.
Nobody No-One 7 Jun, 2015 @ 9:14am
Ignore my previous comment. I got it. That's very sneaky...
Not sure I like the method to get to upper area.
| \_/ () 7 Jun, 2015 @ 9:05am
I finally solved the first part! I read the spoiler tagged part of quatrus' message and solved the entire puzzle in my head! I can't believe I only had to forget about the second cube for a minute!

I also spotted another bug, but it's just another panel glitch which doesn't matter. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=456987988

10 minutes after beating the first test I was done with the second one. Of course it's easier! I totally share quatrus' opinion. I wasn't sure if the part which jgaultney's video shows is intended, but I you wrote that it is so I'm happy that I could think of that mechanic.

Awesomeness level over 9000!!!...Or 8000 because of being able to get stuck.
Nobody No-One 7 Jun, 2015 @ 8:10am
Ok, I have absolutely no idea where to start here! All I managed was getting to the other side where you can get the second laser cube and the laser, but I don't know where to redirect the laser, how to get to the upper area (the faith plate doesn't take me far enough). Any hints on what to do first? (P.S. Your maps always have amazing visuals, but I can never solve them... I've solved half of Da-MaSK, half of Aperture Valentine Advanced Chambers, and that's it pretty much!)
The Sojourner 7 Jun, 2015 @ 3:00am
OMG I finally figured out the clever key for this one! Took a bit of analytical thinking, and as quatrus said, it really isn't that difficult to execute; no time pressure or anything like that. Moreover, it's all downhill once you know the trick (this applies to both chambers). I have to say, though, that you've gotten good at adding portalable surfaces in places that make the player think twice about which ones are supposed to be used for the solution and which ones are just there for decoration. I remember that someone even commented about "red herrings" on Aftermath, which to a lesser extent could also apply here.

Needless to say, I was never detracted from the solution by any of them.
The Sojourner 7 Jun, 2015 @ 1:32am
Well, just like in Aftermath, I managed to finish the second puzzle before the first, and just like in Aftermath, I found that the difficulty of the second was a bit easier than the first one (which I still have yet to figure out)...once you know the dirty little trick ;)

Muy buen trabajo amigo, como siempre :p2cube:
The Sojourner 6 Jun, 2015 @ 11:51pm
Second sound bug I ran into: music doesn't restart when the player dies (dang, 'cause I loved listening to that little piano piece of yours).
The Sojourner 6 Jun, 2015 @ 11:37pm
Odd little fact: I was playing your Aperture Valentine recently and the light strips there were the same theme as in this map. I had to check the modification date to ensure that it really was just my system glitching out (clearly the case given that I saw quaternary's avatar in that map in a few spots, which I never saw before).
The Sojourner 6 Jun, 2015 @ 11:35pm
* applauds TS_Mind_Swept * keep going buddy! :D :p2aperture:

My only comment on the chamber so far: no soundscape in the main room so I added one. You had a couple in Aftermath, which I actually really liked, and besides, they don't generally interfere with the music (in case that concerns you).

Other than that, the usual applies: pretty theme and I have yet to finish the puzzle (it's gonna be good though; I can tell...).
