For some reason the resources don't spawn...

Something's definitely not right with my Sherman Tanks: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=671040011
But other than that, a great mod that is a lot of fun to play. Although it might almost be too powerful, with all the food you produce.

hey send me a link man haha.
ziggysmalls 11 Dec, 2015 @ 5:55pm
best civ mod to date. I would just reccomend that you use the Burl Ives version for ghost riders in the sky. It feels more warlike.

I like the idea of Wheat providing one gold as a little kickstarter @ruhrgebietheld
Mojave Neon 28 Jul, 2015 @ 4:59am
This was one of my absolute favorite civs to play as. Their UA is so much fun, and allowed me to make my cities into monster ones, with food growth that most civs can only dream about. The UU and UB worked perfectly as well, and the UB synergized really well with the UA. The only tiny issue I ran into was realizing that the civ provides no benefits whatsoever until the late Medieval Era. That's 150+ turns of this civ not benefetting you in any way whatsoever. Sure, once the uniques kick in they are really incredible, but it still felt like it would have been nice to have some small benefit earlier. Maybe something like settlers having 2 additional movement on plains tiles, or wheat getting +1 gold. Something that fits the Midwest, but isn't all that powerful, and just serves to give you a little something until the uniques kick in.

The cities should decrease in population after awhile, as they realize where they are living, the horrible futility of it & duly commit mass suicide. (chris from southern indiana)
Mr. X  [author] 26 Jun, 2015 @ 4:16pm
That's a great one.
Frostloss 26 Jun, 2015 @ 4:15pm
Since people are posting their suggestions, I would just like to point out that a mod based on the Gullah people of South Carolina and Georgia would be a cool project
Juni 22 Jun, 2015 @ 11:28am
But the ideas you had about the Bald Knobbers are all good, definitely go with those
Juni 22 Jun, 2015 @ 11:28am
My only cavil with the USACE idea is that I've heard it's quite hard to have units change terrain after the map has already been drawn. But I know you're a quite talented modder so if you can get it to work, definitely do it, that's a good idea

Kurain Empire:

UA: Fey Family Line: Each building that yields faith yields the same amount of culture. Each obsolete unit grants +1 Tourism.

UB: (Chanelling) Chamber: Replaces Temple. Yields +1 additional Culture, only 1 maitenence. If a Medium is stationed in a city with a Chamber, they gain +1 EXP every turn.

UU: (Spirit) Medium: May only be bought with Faith. Can transform into an obsolete land unit of your choice. The Medium can stay like this up to 20 turns, where it must then wait 10 turns until it can channel again. When transformed, the unit acts as if it was not obsolete.

Annnnnnnnd that was a doozy, but yeah! It's based off of a character from a game, like I said, so art resources wouldn't be hard to come by. I was also thinking of making the Medium a great person with the Chamber having a unique specialist that contributes to it instead. Whatever works.
Mr. X  [author] 22 Jun, 2015 @ 6:53am
Go for it! The idea sounds interesting.
bazingo! 22 Jun, 2015 @ 6:51am
Would you like to hear my little idea? It's interesting. It's a religious/cultural civ that gain tourism from obsolete units.
Mr. X  [author] 22 Jun, 2015 @ 6:38am
Those are awesome ideas Sea Turtle Suede! I definitely want to work within those to make something now. I was thinking of making the Bald Knobbers provide a bonus to counter-espionage when garrisoned, and cities captured by them start with a free courthouse. What if instead of a Manmade Lake as a unique building, a unique Engineer called a USACE that transforms land into water instead of a manufactory.
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 3:00pm
Those are just some suggestions, if you do decide to make an Ozark civ, feel free to add or remove, buff or nerf anything as you please, I just ask that you credit me in some small way. If you'd like me to write any Civilopedia entries for that credit or anything, add me as a friend and message me.
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 3:00pm
The Ozarks:

UA: "Aux Arkansas": Lumber Mills provide +1 Faith, +1 Production, and +1 culture. Discovery of Steel grants ability to plant Oak-Hickory Forest resource on Plains and Grass tiles and raises Lumber Mill yield to +1 Faith, +2 Production and +2 Culture.

UB: Manmade Lake: Grants freshwater access to all tiles within three tiles of this city. Yields +1 Tourism after Industrial Era. Requires worked source of Stone until discovery of Steel. Available at Masonry, does not replace any base building.

UU: Bald Knobbers: Unique Rifleman replacement; starts with unique Vigilante Promotion, allowing it to fight at full strength regardless of health and giving it a combat bonus against gunpowder units. Also starts with unique Guerilla Promotion, giving it a flanking bonus in every battle it initiates. Has debilitating penalties when fighting units more technologically advanced than it.
bazingo! 21 Jun, 2015 @ 2:06pm
What about Vinland? Ruled by Leif Erikson or something?
Mr. X  [author] 21 Jun, 2015 @ 1:52pm
Hey I love these ideas, keep em coming!
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 1:22pm
It could be led by John C. Edwards and it could be able to plant Oak-Hickory forests as a UI sort of akin to how the Midwest can plant corn, and it could be improved with a sawmill which provides maybe +1 Culture, +2 production, which becomes +2 and +3 respectively after discovering Steel. They could also have Bald Knobbers as their UU, look them up on Wikipedia for more info. That's just some suggestions based on the surface research I've done; feel free to take however much or little of it as you like if you decide to make The Ozarks a civ
bazingo! 21 Jun, 2015 @ 12:41pm
I had an idea for a civilization based around the character this account is about (Maya Fey.) I haven't seen too many people take on video game Civs and try to make them well-balanced and fun, so maybe that could be a cool project as well!
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 12:31pm
Maybe something to do with beekeeping or Oak-Hickory wood
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 11:55am
Oh that's a good idea, well done sir
Mr. X  [author] 21 Jun, 2015 @ 11:48am
That's a really neat idea Sea Turtle Suede. It would be cool if they had a unique Great Engineer who could construct a manmade lake as a source of freshwater.
Juni 21 Jun, 2015 @ 11:32am
I think The Ozarks in Missouri would be a cool civ if you're looking for a new project
Mr. X  [author] 21 Jun, 2015 @ 11:20am
Thanks @Flashover! I put your lets play on the sidebar under Youtube!
Jive Turkey 21 Jun, 2015 @ 4:15am
Good mod, works great. Just did a Let's Play for Youtube and twitch.tv (broadcast yesterday).
I see here (above) the Packing Plant adds +15% Growth and 2 production, but in the game description, I only saw 2 production when I moused over the icon in the begining screen.

I didn't check the building icon after it was built. That might have had the +15% Growth documented, not sure.

Just something you might want to check, because I wasn't clear what the Packing Plant was doing for me in place of the Factory.

Also, very well balanced and challenging! I played on Prince Level was in in last place until 2008. If you want to see how I won, you'll have to watch the video (or at least the last few minutes).

Keep up the good work.
bazingo! 20 Jun, 2015 @ 11:31am
No problemo, dude. I especially like the background for the leader screen :D
Bridus 20 Jun, 2015 @ 2:45am
good job :)

Thanks guys!

Mods like these tend to be lackluster, but yours is actually pretty good!
Foxxedhound 17 Jun, 2015 @ 12:25pm
(Holy jeebus it's my state off to the side, and it has a M4 Sherman...THIS IS AMAZING!)
Saturnine 15 Jun, 2015 @ 4:54pm
Saw this on Reddit and I love it.
Mr. X  [author] 15 Jun, 2015 @ 4:10pm
Thanks!
Debatinator 14 Jun, 2015 @ 7:19pm
This is a really fun mod. Nice to have a grassland/plains focused civ that isn't just cavalry-centered.
Jive Turkey 13 Jun, 2015 @ 11:16am
Good idea, I'll do the direct download. Keep up the good work.
Mr. X  [author] 13 Jun, 2015 @ 8:37am
Thanks man! I'm psyched! Maybe try the direct download also?
Jive Turkey 13 Jun, 2015 @ 8:29am
Well, crap. I can't the Mod to download past 0% complete. Probably due to high internet traffic for the summer sale. will try again after the sale is over. (next week)
Jive Turkey 13 Jun, 2015 @ 4:13am
Octoski! You did it again, you marvolus bastard. I will feature this on my Twitch.tv and Youtube channel. Nice work.
Mr. X  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 5:37pm
THERE YA GO.
nthebrave 12 Jun, 2015 @ 1:33pm
could you post an alternate download link? steam is being a bumhole :(
Mr. X  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 7:46am
I'll be doing a little tweaking this afternoon and I'll try and fix the descriptions. I was weighing the options of whether or not the UA should activate at Steel or Agriculture, and whether it should only be used to replace existing resources or if it should add new ones.
nleger67 11 Jun, 2015 @ 7:45pm
While playing, the UA is available at agricultrue, not steel, like the description says.
Also, oats and soy have the same descriptions when you hover over them. The bonuses work fine, just the description is the same.
Love it, going to be OP on great plains maps. Resources on every tile.
Omen 11 Jun, 2015 @ 5:19am
This is interesting, nice job. Got any farm texture resins planned to replace the plantations?
MESTRE SILVIO 10 Jun, 2015 @ 10:25pm
Can't say I like the unique unit, but otherwise the civ looks quite interesting. I'm subscribing.
