Hey there, I'm glad you had fun with it!
VulpusTumultum 23 Sep, 2022 @ 4:57am
Hi! I explored this map a little in what became a two part 'noob builder' bit https://youtu.be/uKudwZf7Jpo

I plan to use it again for a longer lasting city someday, I loved it! =)

Thank you :)

Hi, yes, there are no mods required for this map. No matter which map you choose, here is how to make sure you are sure to keep achievements available while you build your city.
Assets (trees, props, custom buildings) do not count in this game as mods. Only things that alter the game's code are considered mods. Here's how to double check before you start: Load the game. Click Content Manager. Click the tab called Mods. Be sure nothing there has any blue squares. They should all be disabled, even default mods that came with the game.
Hope that helps! :)

If i use this map and the other things in the right i'll be able to achievements?

Fixed the description ^
MrMiyagi  [author] 31 Dec, 2018 @ 2:43pm
Well I'm a big moron :D When I put that new wording in about recommended theme, I forgot that this map is based in tropical, and the Outback one is based in temperate :D The game only allows you to use a custom map theme that is in the same category (tropical, temperate, snow, etc). So that's why it doesn't work together.
There is a mod you can use, though. It's still working and I use it often. Environment Changer mod by BloodyPenguin will allow you to use any theme with any map, mix and match. Enable it and you will see all choices of map environments and themes. in new drop down menus https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=611254368&searchtext=environment
Schmiddie 31 Dec, 2018 @ 6:15am
Seems to be a good map, but the Outback Red Desert cannot be chosen...any ideas why?
Spyder 4 Jun, 2018 @ 2:00pm
your welcome! :Smilingdemon::steamhappy:
MrMiyagi  [author] 4 Jun, 2018 @ 11:39am
Heh, I just added those to favorites, too. Same author, right? Thanks for being so helpful, I totally missed all his / her stuff! The prickly pear looks great
Spyder 4 Jun, 2018 @ 11:37am
Great thanks! and yes thats the exact saguaro, i also found barrel cactus and prickly pear cactus on the workshop along with some other desert plants if your interested!
MrMiyagi  [author] 4 Jun, 2018 @ 11:36am
hi, do you mean this saguaro? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=748272044&searchtext=saguaro
It didn't come out until 2016, so I couldn't have included it. I'm glad you mentioned it, though, because I had not seen it before - it's very nice and I would have used it during the latest map update. Added it to my favorites, and I'll use it in any future updates or new maps :)
By the way, you can use the handy mod Prop It Up to replace all instances of any particular tree with another variety of tree you choose. It's awesome for issues like this!
Spyder 4 Jun, 2018 @ 11:24am
really good map but i would have preffered you using the more realistic looking saguaro from the workshop and some other kinds from the workshop.
Eve 15 May, 2018 @ 4:23pm
Oh thx for the link though ( ͡°( ͡° ͜ʖ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ʖ ͡°) ͡°)
MrMiyagi  [author] 15 May, 2018 @ 4:01pm
No such thing as too late :D I can't take credit for the theme - it's by Blackfrost, whose red desert theme is a lot better than mine :D Glad you had fun with it!
Eve 15 May, 2018 @ 2:51pm
im super late ik but used your theme, looks way better than defaults
ivanmichaell 24 May, 2017 @ 10:46am
Good Map. Little trouble with Literal Shit flooding my city
MrMiyagi  [author] 18 May, 2017 @ 12:10pm
:D Now how about some snow on top of it
FullRefund 6 Mar, 2017 @ 2:24am
Awesome! Did I mention that you were the best? Mesas here I come... :steamhappy:
MrMiyagi  [author] 5 Mar, 2017 @ 9:56pm
Hey FullRefund, not sure how but I was actually able to get into this map and to also update it to the workshop. Phew! So it is updated and you should be able to use any map theme. It looks pretty awful with the default map theme. Not sure if you saw this but I made one for red rock deserts here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=678839907
FullRefund 5 Mar, 2017 @ 12:46pm
Should have added this to my previous comment but I tried loading it with other current desert themes but it unsurprisingly looked like crap.
FullRefund 5 Mar, 2017 @ 12:44pm
@MrMiyagi You make the best maps! Now that my butt kissing is done I'd ask what are the possibilities that you could reupload this map without the need for the Theme mod? I assume this was made before in game Themes were really a thing.
MrMiyagi  [author] 5 Jun, 2016 @ 5:26am
Hi slc02, yup, it#s a new thing..... ever since the most recent patch, if you're missing one thing that is in a map, it gives you errors. Before, it was no problem - you could choose whether to subscribe to an item in a map. Now it's required, so I'm doing a lot less of requirements, if any at all. Enjoy!
sepruecom 5 Jun, 2016 @ 4:50am
aaand have to apologize for the comment before. Once you install _and_ activate all the depencencies, the map starts working all of a sudden!

So now I have the map, all terrain as well as water is present, no floating (and also no sunken) roads and tracks any more (the latter happens if you download the dependencies, but do not activate the mods)...

Greetings, sic
sepruecom 5 Jun, 2016 @ 3:43am
got two NullPointerExceptions. All the landscape was gone (=floating road). I seems this is not snowfall compatible...
jaymanmac2010 4 Jun, 2016 @ 8:28pm
I keep getting multiple errors saying 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' when I try to load this map. Then when it loads, all of the roads are floating. The map looks really cool and I would love to use it. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
MrMiyagi  [author] 31 May, 2016 @ 7:33am
No problem T-Dawg!
Mr. T 31 May, 2016 @ 7:24am
Lookin' so damn great, thank you

Hi kpgla, I be that is caused by something I no longer do on maps. I used to join rail connections as the beginning of their connection. I would correct and reupload, but on all the uploads before After Dark's update, this is no longer possible. Luckily, the solution is easy. Use BloodyPenguin's mod Cross the Line mod to go out there and correct this dumb move on my part (lol sigh). Any BP mod is worth its weight in gold. They're regularly updated too. He also made an "unlimited outside connections" mod.. which sounds like heaven for your large city :D
Spaghett 20 Mar, 2016 @ 9:03am
First of all - I love this map. Been playing on it exclusively for the last 2 months. I just ran into a problem where my trains are getting into a traffic jam outside of my city limits (Northern side, furthest away from water). It has now affected my industry with most being abandoned now since goods can't get out and now vehicular traffic jams. Do you know of a solution to this?
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 Feb, 2016 @ 1:21pm
Thanks for letting me know it works still, that's very good info that I needed. The original is really nice looking. He worked on the full package of this terrain theme, I just shared my textures, he did the high quality magic :)
StingrayMM20 21 Feb, 2016 @ 5:20am
Oh sorry, I forgot to get back to this!
In the end, I chose to keep TPB's mod running along with this theme. Works like a charm!
MrMiyagi  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 5:21pm
Well butter my buns and call me a biscuit, there's now 90 of them! So, you can unsubscribe to the terrain texture mods listed to the right of this page, and then go shopping for a desert one here, and open a game with this map and whatever desert package you choose. More and more each day! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/browse/?appid=255710&requiredtags []=Map+Theme
MrMiyagi  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 5:19pm
Yes, everything visual changed with each update... and I mean REALLY changed. So all the visual things have to be redone into the new system O.o What you will want is a new Map Theme (one of the top categories on right hand of workshop page), and to open a game with this map with a new Map Theme selected. The ability to make them came free with the Snowfall update. They are much more complex and are not anywhere as user friendly as TPB's mod listed here, so... it's a little sad for me. I think we will have to wait for someone with more skills than I to design a Map Theme for the Southwest US / Australia type desert look... On the first day there were already more than 30 themes designed (lol) so it won't be long at all til we see one!
StingrayMM20 20 Feb, 2016 @ 2:13pm
I might just be missing something, but I'm having a bit of trouble playing your Navajo map since Snowfall came out. How exactly do I make this theme appear in the theme changer thingy? :D
As much as I love the look of the map WITH this theme, without it it looks rather dreadful, to be honest. xD
MrMiyagi  [author] 19 Jan, 2016 @ 1:23pm
LOL XD And I love you all! Oh, I forgot to change the requirements for this map to the new theme
Brickitect 19 Jan, 2016 @ 12:00pm
I LOVE YOU
MrMiyagi  [author] 16 Aug, 2015 @ 3:51am
Hurray! No problem at all turnip, I love that mod so much!
goonrich urkel 15 Aug, 2015 @ 7:27pm
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
It finally worked! Thank You for having the patienst and using your own time to walk me through it!
MrMiyagi  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 6:50am
Sure, @turnip (calling you turnip sounds like I'm being mean to you lol). Oh wait, I didn't include the link for that mod!! Silly me.... https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416966387
Is that what you needed? So sorry about leaving that out! Then what you do is open the game, from the main menu click "content manager", it lists maps, assets... on the left. Click mods, which I think is the last. Scroll down past the game's standard mods and you will see the TTR mod. You have to click the green button to turn it on, a warning will pop up.. it's up to you to decide if you want to allow the mod code to change the game. This one seems okay... and I have VERY few mods. The more you add, the more possible problems you could run into, but this works great. The rest of the directions are up above, but if you get stuck anywhere, let me know :)
goonrich urkel 9 Aug, 2015 @ 6:54pm
This mod looks amazing and I would really like to download it, but I don't understand how to get the terrain teture replacer mod to work :(
Can someone find or write me a guide on how to set that up to get the desert textures?
MrMiyagi  [author] 3 Aug, 2015 @ 5:07pm
Cool! Well if I can stop playing it long enough to prep it for publishing, this is a sneak peek of what is probably my fave now. Lots of places to settle where each location makes a scene unto itself, nearly every one having its own private beach. More of that highway style you mention. Just beware of headhunters in the surrounding jungles XD

I'm glad you enjoyed the album. I don't have a preffered map type, I'll build a city to suit the map but I liked the characteristics of Navajo, the custom textures, a straight highway where it should be straight and curving where it should curve, big flat land occasionally interrupted by jutting hills. And that leveled highway over rough terrain in La Tierruca is a thing of beauty.
MrMiyagi  [author] 2 Aug, 2015 @ 11:06pm
"Can you do a little heavy lifting? Know anything about agriculture at all? Yeah, didn't think so, moving on".. " hear they have an excellent benefit baggie"... XD HAHAHA!!! Rolling on the floor
MrMiyagi  [author] 2 Aug, 2015 @ 11:03pm
Words can't express enough how much I love seeing the results of your creativity and entertaining accompanying story text!!!!! That mine idea is really cool!
Thank you so much for sharing these... it really makes it all worth it :)
Don't know what map type you like, but if you'd ever like a specific location, I'll be glad to make one for you!

Re: maps, I use the free program Wilbur, and I am in the middle of writing a guide on how to use that and how to import into CS. It also has links and is in the middle of demonstrating some things in the CS map editor. Can Carrera export into PNG, TIFF or... oh I forget the other one... those can be read by the game and directly imported. Anyhow here's my guide and I'll throw you a friend request in case you have more questions. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482232215
