Update inc soon?
Centurion  [author] 30 Oct, 2017 @ 4:44am
Big news everyone - after having not touched Rome 2 for about a year or 2, I've just found out that UMCenturion, my dude in Ancient Empires who's been dealing with implementing a lot of my reskins into his teams mod, has uploaded a mod for DeI containing these legions (and more, including a better shield model, etc).

You can find it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=952250553

There are differences, he has a good mix of shield designs in there, including Roma Surre ctum as the original Caesar's Legions came with. I don't have a lot of spare time, with this being my final year of university, but I do have a thing or 2 coming soon - not big and not 100% done, but fully working and to be finished in summer 2018
Centurion  [author] 30 Oct, 2017 @ 4:44am
Another thing! UMC's mod is a little outdated by a patch or 2, but luckily one of the supporters of his mod has made a fix and it works fully within DeI

This fix is found inside a Google Drive link here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?746404-UMCenturion-s-Ancient-Empires-Legions-for-DEI-1-2-2-Compatibility-patch-(W-I-P-)

I guess that's not too bad, though I'm not sure if they're correctly balanced with other 1.2 units.
Scipio 9 Jun, 2017 @ 8:47am
it works with DeI1.2 for CiG and EA but my Grand Campaign crashes all the time.
Centurion  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 3:08pm
You can try, but it is heavily outdated to before even 1.1 - all I'm saying is I wouldn't recommend playing with the mod at the moment, at least not without a bit of testing :P
Racoon1 [1st EAL] i9-109 2 Jun, 2017 @ 2:07pm
I have read the comments several times, but i see DEI in 6 parts rights side. Is that still DEI 1.1 or is it working also in DEI 1.2 in 8 parts ?? I like to try this, so i will do now.
Centurion  [author] 24 May, 2017 @ 11:32am
can you update your comment reading skills? ty
stopped making sense 24 May, 2017 @ 10:57am
can you update this for the new DEI?
Centurion  [author] 22 Oct, 2016 @ 6:28am
yup, they're in the current release bar one or two of my reskins that haven't yet been implemented - not only that but they have nice curvy shields that UMCenturion made
TC_Tuga 22 Oct, 2016 @ 1:02am
I know, i think that AE will be what i have dreamd of for R2TW. DEI team did a great job for it but AE will make it even better. Your legions work is there already right?
Centurion  [author] 21 Oct, 2016 @ 11:09pm
it's only taken them 2 years, the AE team have created/are creating a solid foundation for a mod that will continue to be developed for a good while. I trust those guys will make a great alternative to playing Rome 2, with or without DeI.

For now, I think they're on the polishing phase of the first campaign release
TC_Tuga 21 Oct, 2016 @ 2:07pm
I have already and played the battles, just playing the DEI untill they release campaign for ancient empires.
And i think AE mod will be the best, but it will take years to get where DEI is now. . .
Centurion  [author] 21 Oct, 2016 @ 1:10pm
that'd be one of the bugs caused by DeI's update. Honestly, I'd recommend buying Attila if you haven't already and then getting Ancient Empires mod, it has all of these units in it plus the support of people that can code
TC_Tuga 21 Oct, 2016 @ 10:15am
In the grand campaign, the prima cohort wich you was suposed to have only one you can recruit as manny as you want.
Centurion  [author] 23 Feb, 2016 @ 12:18pm
im not a coder, so i havent a clue how to implement the new dei mechanics
nunods453 23 Feb, 2016 @ 2:37am
please update this awesome mod
Centurion  [author] 24 Jan, 2016 @ 7:52am
I've been playing a little more recently and managed to roll back my version with a backed up file to the previous version of the mod. imo lack of the supply script is better than lack of legions in the right places and at the right times.

This is temporary, I have contacted someone within the Ancient Empires team that works on scripts, and will hopefully be sorting it when he has time. I'm actually about to roll it back after some testing.

I may also upload a mediafire or google drive link to files i use from the old DeI version - they don't overwrite the original DeI files so it's easy to switch between them when they are placed into R2s data folder.
anthonyl 24 Jan, 2016 @ 6:17am
Any news on that update you were planning? Cheers
Centurion  [author] 20 Dec, 2015 @ 2:54am
No problem :happy_creep:
anthonyl 19 Dec, 2015 @ 4:46pm
Nice, thanks for the information mate!
Centurion  [author] 18 Dec, 2015 @ 3:40pm
I'd balanced them just prior to the recent patch - the Caesarian legions in my version of C.L. (not DeI, their Caesarians are our Augustan) are balanced with the Client State version of the DeI Caesarian/Marian Legionaries.

My Augustan match DeI's Caesarian and my Imperial match DeI's Imperial

The problem is that DeI has 2 generations of Legionary units, while Caesar's Legions uses 3. DeI skips Caesar's Legions' Marian era and called C.L.s' Augustan "Marian" if that makes sense. They skip the troops that carry the polybian/hastati-principes-trarii shield

BUT there is one bug that I'm aware of - Legionaries are availiable to research from the very beginning of the Grand Campaign, so either conquer the world with legionaries that are OP for the time period, or be a good guy and wait them out. If you are against Rome.. Uh.. I hope you enjoy a challenge..

I already have plans to fix this, so hold onto your hats!
anthonyl 18 Dec, 2015 @ 3:32pm
I've found one bug. in His latest version XIIICaesar has balanced the stats so that the named legions match the ones from DeI. This is missing from you version making the named legions a bit too op :)
Centurion  [author] 26 Nov, 2015 @ 7:15am
yes - there haven't been any reports of bugs
Sgt. Wardaddy 26 Nov, 2015 @ 3:08am
So the mod is compatible with DEI latest update in the campagin?
Centurion  [author] 20 Nov, 2015 @ 7:59am
Yeah, seemed to be a simple script replacement luckily
anthonyl 20 Nov, 2015 @ 7:50am
Great news indeed.
Just take your time mate.
I could only test it in custom battles atm (no time for campaign this weekend).
Just wanted to know whether it's possible to update it.
Cheers
Centurion  [author] 19 Nov, 2015 @ 1:06pm
It's done, haven't had chance to test it yet though. Unless you want it now?
anthonyl 19 Nov, 2015 @ 10:41am
Any news? Cheers
Centurion  [author] 11 Nov, 2015 @ 10:24am
should be possible, i'll get onto it as soon as I can
anthonyl 11 Nov, 2015 @ 9:59am
Ok cool mate.
Do you think it's possible to update this mod?
Centurion  [author] 11 Nov, 2015 @ 6:19am
Found it, ignore that v
Centurion  [author] 11 Nov, 2015 @ 6:03am
I don't suppose you could link me it?
anthonyl 11 Nov, 2015 @ 5:05am
@Dark Centurion: Someone has apparently modified the legions pack by XIIICaesar to work with DeI 1.1c, maybe you could upadte this wonderful submod too now :)
Centurion  [author] 2 Nov, 2015 @ 3:27am
Well, I'm no scripter so I'll have to either wait for XIIIICaesar to start replying again, or ask around in the AE team for Attila
Joles 2 Nov, 2015 @ 3:02am
yeah..the basic submod Caesar´s Legions needs an update because the scripting interferes. Also the AOR seems to be not correct - see CL-thread under DEI on twcenter. I am also sad I cannot use that mod anymore
anthonyl 1 Nov, 2015 @ 1:50pm
Ok mate gave it a try in CiG and GC, I believe that for some reason I don't know this submod breaks the new scripts in 1.1 e.g. supply doesn't work with this submod enabled and some event stuff. Maybe more, haven't tried in every detail.
So unfortunately 1.1 and this wonderful submod are not fully compatible it seems. Sorry
Centurion  [author] 31 Oct, 2015 @ 8:57pm
Just to add, I have checked the new DeI files and compared to mine and there are no changes made to the regular legionary units, meaning it should be fully compatible.
Centurion  [author] 31 Oct, 2015 @ 8:51pm
I don't see why it shouldn't be, though if you encounter problems, please report them so that I can fix them!
anthonyl 31 Oct, 2015 @ 3:26pm
@ Dark Centurion: Is this mod compatible with 1.1a then?
Centurion  [author] 30 Oct, 2015 @ 3:22pm
@Jason Wolf

There doesn't seem to be any changes made to the units Database wise, just wondering what you thought might need updating in case I overlooked anything
Centurion  [author] 29 Oct, 2015 @ 5:17pm
No problem!
Sofakingcool 29 Oct, 2015 @ 3:24pm
Hey man, thanks! :D
Centurion  [author] 29 Oct, 2015 @ 3:20pm
They are recruited from certain provinces, for example you can only recruit Legio II Augusta in Britain, and III Augusta from North Africa only. They move around a bit between the Marian>Augustan era where (for example) Legio II Sabina becomes II Augusta and moves from Italia to Britain.

however Marian era legionaries aren't availiable in DeI in the same way as the Vanilla and Radious versions of the mod. They are in Custom Battles though. This leaves Augustan and Imperial versions of the legions in DeI Campaign

The thing about CL that makes it different from ILOR is that ILOR is balanced for vanilla (I believe?) whereas CL has versions for Vanilla, Radious AND DeI, so you won't be at an advantage or disadvantage in the campaign for using these units. Another note on DeI, I haven't quite gotten round to updating CL for the new DeI version due to University, but I plan to take a look this weekend!
Sofakingcool 29 Oct, 2015 @ 1:50pm
I'm playing with Imperial Legions of Rome; similar to this mod.

If I wanted to try this mod out, how are the units recruited in campaign, do the legions also get rtecruited in designated parts of the map?
