I have used free-armor-packs from modders, which have retired from modding.
Ostrogoth2299 16 Oct, 2023 @ 9:16pm
what have you used then?
M.I.B.  [author] 16 Oct, 2023 @ 12:04pm
I don't use 3 d max or blender.
Ostrogoth2299 15 Oct, 2023 @ 8:23pm
Hello, I am looking for help on making new custom assets such as Arms and Armor. and maybe creating new "races" or skins. I have tried using 3d max 2018 however it won't even permit me to use the software and I have tried blender have absolutely no idea how it works how to import or export models. So i am asking for help for those modders who know what they are doing when it comes to that stuff

M.I.B.  [author] 12 May, 2020 @ 10:22am
I'm sorry, but i have no plans to reskin the Helvetii, as i'm quite content with their vanilla appereance. The vanilla appearance of the gaulish tribes is quite accurate.
Mceffe 12 May, 2020 @ 7:45am
Could you reskin the Helvetii as well?
austria-HRE 11 May, 2019 @ 1:28pm
ah, i didnt know that.
M.I.B.  [author] 11 May, 2019 @ 1:10pm
Venetian, Illyrian and Latin belong all to the indo-european language group.

So linguistic similarities are not unusual.
austria-HRE 11 May, 2019 @ 12:21pm
roman culture was based on hellenic culture and their language was exclusive to where they came from if im not mistaken. that being latium, of course.
David 17 Mar, 2019 @ 1:16pm
Venetians and Illyrians weren´t very different to Romans and Italic people in culture and language
M.I.B.  [author] 12 Jul, 2018 @ 2:12pm
Updated to Beta-Patch.
M.I.B.  [author] 8 Mar, 2018 @ 8:43am
Updated to new DLC.
ToonTotalWar 28 Jan, 2018 @ 9:42am
thanks i have done that and hopefully will all work ok
M.I.B.  [author] 28 Jan, 2018 @ 6:45am
Yes or you download my updated mods and simply copy this table. ;)
ToonTotalWar 28 Jan, 2018 @ 12:36am
in fact I have all your unit mods and for all factions they have a faction entry in the unit_variant_tables? should i delete all those faction entries as the same is going to happen with the other factions I suppose?
ToonTotalWar 28 Jan, 2018 @ 12:28am
ah ok so i need to remove the faction entry for the two units as they state "rom_veneti and pun_veneti" in unit_variants table?
M.I.B.  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 3:29pm
Or you have an older version of my mod, my latest version has no specific faction entry there.
M.I.B.  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 3:23pm
Must be a mod conflict, as the units have no entry for a specific faction in the unit variants table,so they should be visible for every faction.
M.I.B.  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 3:14pm
I must take a look.
ToonTotalWar 27 Jan, 2018 @ 3:09pm
Hi there is some of the Veneti units showing invisible in game when a satrapy is formed. I know it’s something to do with units_variant_tables that need to be adjusted I think?
M.I.B.  [author] 15 Nov, 2017 @ 9:07pm
Updated to Power & Politics Update (Beta).
NuGuNz 10 Jan, 2017 @ 4:57pm
thanks for getting back so fast , you are right the other mods were messing with them.
M.I.B.  [author] 10 Jan, 2017 @ 4:46pm
I checked the veneti slingers, working as intended.
M.I.B.  [author] 10 Jan, 2017 @ 4:37pm
Yeah, that could be the problem.
NuGuNz 10 Jan, 2017 @ 4:01pm
veneti slingers are bugged for me, i'm also using a barbarian reskin could that be conflicting?
M.I.B.  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 7:12am
Thank you.
M.I.B.  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 5:41am
The screenshots have a special order, from left to right is like reading the unit list from up to down.
M.I.B.  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 5:40am
Ah, i understand, the warriors you mean are Veneti from Adriatic Coast. The Veneti were a illyrian tribe, a italic tribe or a tribe of their own. The werev influenced by Illyrians, Etruscans and later celts.

From the Etruscans or Illyrians they learned the phalanx warfare.

The equipment you see is illyrian equipment.
M.I.B.  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 4:59am
Caesar described in "De Bello Gallico", that the Helvetii fight in a tight phalanx. Phalanx is no greek invention, even the old Sumerians of Bronze Age fight in a phalanx with huge shields and long spears. It means not, that my Helvetii fight with greek equipment.
M.I.B.  [author] 8 Sep, 2016 @ 8:23am
Hi, i added recently 5 new ligurian generals and a new insubrian unit and two new helmets.
M.I.B.  [author] 23 Mar, 2016 @ 9:28am
New Units for Insubri as easterneggs added.

Have fun. ;)
M.I.B.  [author] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 5:28am
It is a controversy between scholars, if the Veneti are an illyric tribe or only related to them or an own tribe or a celtic or italic tribe.

I for myself follow the opinion that they are only related to the Illyrians or a own tribe.

The roman historians are no reliable source in this case, because born 150 years after the Veneti was subdued and fully romanised, the Troja Mythos is only a legend not real history.
M.I.B.  [author] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 5:16am
Roman historian Titus Livius (59 BC – AD 17), himself a native of the Venetic town of Patavium, records that after the fall of Troy, the Trojan prince Antenor became the leader of the Paphlagonians after they all had been expelled from their homeland. Together, they migrated to the northern end of the Adriatic coast, where they established a settlement and conquered and merged with indigenous people known as the Euganei.[10] The story connects the Veneti with the Eneti, mentioned by Homer (850 BC).

The exact relationship of Venetic to other Indo-European languages is still being investigated, but the majority of scholars agree that Venetic, aside from Liburnian, shared some similarities with the Italic languages and so is sometimes classified as Italic. However, since it also shared similarities with other Western Indo-European branches (particularly Celtic languages and Germanic languages), some linguists prefer to consider it an independent Indo-European language. Venetic may also have been related to the Illyrian languages once spoken in the western Balkans, though the theory that Illyrian and Venetic were closely related is debated by current scholarship. Different scholars argued that Venetic may have been a transitional type between Celtic and Italic, with the same treatment of sonorants as in Celtic, and the same treatment of the mediae aspiratae and the voiceless occlusive labial (*p) as in Italic.[7]

Claiming such things is comparable to endorse this video, the people who make it (I really ignore whether they're fully and completely ignorant and assume good faith in them, or if they're deliberately lying), and all those nice comments you can read about it.

Really instructive.
Piero 16 Mar, 2016 @ 12:42am
Ancient Veneti were a fully Italic tribe, and actually closely related both to Latins, and Siculi, as the ancient authors themselves wrote. They were not Illyrians, that's BS forged by Yugoslavian pseudo-academics in the 20th century for their racist and political purposes (cfr. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venetic_theory) . Actually, many tribes which were previously thought of as Illyrians have recently been ascribed by Veneti by recent, REAL academical research.

I have to verify that this mod is not causing any issues for me. Please make sure to verify each mod you have downloaded.
M.I.B.  [author] 3 Mar, 2016 @ 11:01am

When do you plan on getting around to the Insubres they are untouched and I'd love to play as my ancestors if I could :)
M.I.B.  [author] 14 Nov, 2015 @ 9:11am
