That's awesome. I love the ending.

Nice puzzle! I enjoyed the parts others have mentioned, and I quite liked the use of small gel patches in order to create one-way momentum paths.

My 3 minutes: https://youtu.be/GcsCuA_VbMc fine map, considering deus ex machina ending.

Really enjoyed this one. The first half stumped me for a few minutes until I figured out the reuse of the piston platform, which was very clever by the way. Once I activated the light bridge everything was easy from there. I also really like the design and aesthetics in this one. Thumbs up.

Regarding the hidden elements mentioned a few comments below, the only thing that irked me slightly was that it wasn't entirely clear that the laser catcher would miraculously activate a light bridge to prevent the cube from falling off the button. While there was some signage that allowed me to guess it would happen, I would have preferred the traditional puzzlemaker signage to make it absolutely unambiguous. The gel was funny, and I'm really thankful that the second laser had a delay before turning off.

excellent

Great puzzle. Took a while to work out the mechanics and even longer to finally notice that ledge that lets you bootstrap but after that, it was 'just' a case of solving it. Great work, big thumbs up.
toncica  [author] 5 Jan, 2018 @ 3:52pm
What is the concern with hidden elements? In my maps they are not puzzle relevant, you don't have to know or think about them. Here at the end you are given the option to quickly jump to the exit instead of slowly walking. Some hidden elements prevent negative consequences for the player, ideally you don't even notice when it happens.
bobdugan_2000 2 Jan, 2018 @ 8:40pm
Man, I gave it a thumbs up because of how clever this map is, but there are some real non-conventional tricks that made me think twice about that rating. I had to look at LG's walkthrough at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7TPpmK0yho to get me through these little bombs... What's with the hidden elements, especially at the end? Still Toncica, you make among the most thought provoking maps, so thank you!

I'm very glad I replayed this one. A terrific update to the end-game and awesome visuals!

That cheeky thing revealed by Dr. Strangelove has been fixed. Other stuff changed too.
toncica  [author] 16 May, 2017 @ 7:18am
I had to load the map to see what you mean and then I remembered that this small variant bothered me before when I made the puzzle, but I didn't see a good way to prevent it then and I still don't see one now. Any counter-measures would destroy the purity of essence.
Dr. Strangelove 16 May, 2017 @ 6:04am
Nice one, I did find it pretty easy but that is because I played the original first (which was fairly challenging so this one must be too if you haven't). A snall variant upon the posted solution: instead of respawning the cube a third time I left it on the side of the floor portal near the door, then funelled it from the other side (it's close enough to take the cube) before dropping it on the laser pressure plate . A bit cheeky so I did think it might not be intended.
dire.fcs 21 Nov, 2015 @ 5:35am
Very good :steamhappy:; I liked the cube moves, very simple and yet somehow complicated:p2turret:.

Thanks. 100% intended, unbelievable!

yeah i got it,did have to take a quick peak but at playthru but got the solution on my own. i always have trouble with yours but thats good ,love to learn. thanks for the help loved the map
jandlml 6 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm
thanks toncica , i will try again hopefully make it without the walkthrough
toncica  [author] 6 Sep, 2015 @ 6:26pm
@jandlml, it got a little less 'easy' due to the fixes I made. You have to keep the exit section and the section with the laser catcher connected with portals until the end. remember the piston platform and say apple jump

Walkthrough video added.
jandlml 6 Sep, 2015 @ 5:23pm
wow if this is easy than im real stupid. ive have got as far as getting the cube to the button that removes the fizzle walls . i have no idea where to go next. i know what i need to do but cant figure out how. hint?
toncica  [author] 3 Sep, 2015 @ 12:44pm
Updated, should now work on the first try.
| \_/ () 2 Sep, 2015 @ 1:23pm
Oh yeah, I forgot that the quickload button is F7. Yes, I meant quickload.

Idk, it did take me 4 or 5 tries, but like I said, that doesn't matter imo.
toncica  [author] 2 Sep, 2015 @ 1:08pm
What does F9 do? Is that your quickload button? That shouldn't be necessary, worked every time I tested it in this configuration.
| \_/ () 2 Sep, 2015 @ 12:52pm
Quite clever! I like everything in the map. The only thing is - I solved it by flinging the cube to the laser button . If this is the intended solution, than it's kinda wierd, since that seems pretty luck-based - I did it after several F9 presses. That doesn't make the puzzle less awesome though. Fine job!
toncica  [author] 2 Sep, 2015 @ 8:08am
...fixed the dropper and the unintended move.
toncica  [author] 31 Aug, 2015 @ 2:26pm
I know about the dropper. You really want me to fix that?
RedSilencer 31 Aug, 2015 @ 2:09pm
Genious little map. I love the square layout. It's possible to get stuck if you push the cube back into the dropper...

When I played through it a second time, I tried to break it and only managed to find a few very tricky little maneuvers that don't really add up to much.
Andi 29 Aug, 2015 @ 12:57pm
Very clever and well constructed, however, you're idea of easy is not so easy. Still I enjoyed this chamber, thumbs up.
Brave 29 Aug, 2015 @ 6:08am
@toncica:
In your description you have "Pretty easy, I think" crossed out. How did you do that? I've been wondering for sometime how that is done.
Oh, I made a friends only map called Quick-witted published about 3 weeks ago, I think you will like it!
toncica  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 7:22pm
Screw my last words. Map updated.
toncica  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 4:39pm
Well, that's not a huge issue. It depends on luck and barely changes the solution. I've tested how to avoid that but there's always a catch. I can make the cube fall with a spin, so it never lands right on the surface, but then it's very likely that the cube won't land on the button. To fix that further changes would be needed and then it starts to look convoluted. Better change nothing.
Fatso 28 Aug, 2015 @ 2:30pm
Sorry toncica I went back in here to see if i could exploit something. In my video the cube lands and stays right on the portable surface. but I can shoot may portals real fast and still have it fall thought. Exploit
Polux 28 Aug, 2015 @ 12:38pm
Nice, 10 min for me :P
toncica  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 12:15pm

Dave told me how to prevent the cube from flinging into the fizzler. That was the only part that had me thinking for a long time.
Great puzzle...thumbs up!
Fatso 28 Aug, 2015 @ 10:54am
Yeah I played for about 15 min. last night but had to shut down the computer so I resumed today and took about 30 min. to solve. Great puzzle!!!
toncica  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 9:05am
Thanks Dave, that's the intended solution. Hm, 45 minutes you say... I better change the description.
Fatso 28 Aug, 2015 @ 8:34am
Here is a video of how I solved it, I think I solved it as intended Click Here
Fatso 28 Aug, 2015 @ 8:07am
Brave told me to check this one out, glad I did very nice puzzle toncica. I had to faorite this one, not easy though took me about 45 min. total to beat it. You need your thinking cap on for sure.
toncica  [author] 28 Aug, 2015 @ 4:19am
@Brave, that's a big surprise. I can only assume that you must have had a blind spot or you started to overthink it. It's of course not 'front page' easy, I was probably comparing it to my last map when I said 'pretty easy'. Shouldn't take long to solve for experienced players.

Technically the pedestal button isn't necessary, I just didn't want to restrict the player's movement. Maybe that could be a reason to overthink the puzzle...
Brave 27 Aug, 2015 @ 7:00pm
toncica says "Pretty easy, I think."

Well I like to think an easy difficulty is when a player can solve a Author's test within a reasonable time, and that is if the player can see the solution right away, but for me I can't seem to figure out the puzzle!
I spent about 45 minutes in there and it boggles my mind, i'll have to come back to this one a little later.
jgaultney 26 Aug, 2015 @ 9:47am
An enjoyable puzzle. Thumbs up.:p2blue:
