Yeah, many small things are really easy, like changing parameters and values.
But adding new functionality can worse. Actually i could live with not a perfect visual. Maybe i do not need a model. Most important is an 'active' area for a pluggable. With barrels it can be achieved with barrelHolder.AddSlot and fuelHandler.AddSlot. But these are in class Vehicle and FuelHandler. Those powerpoints, i think only reside in "buildingblock", not in vehicle. Non of the vehicles use powerpoints, so it might not be possible. Still getting my head around this jungle of classes. Pepe143 solved it with a barrel with power. Brilliant.
But I want a cable :-)

Err. As stated before.. i just dug a bit in the code to get my solution ready. But.. I really dont know anything about this anymore.. really.
Changing the direction of power flow at an already existing outlet was easy.
Patching a power plug to a vehicle.. (I was even unable to change the modded outlets color..)
You MAY need additional 3rd party modeling software for this.
I dont know how to change the models.

Thanks for sharing how you did this. I am trying to make a power plug to the buggy (making in a PHEV). I see the SLOT's and the POWERPOINT's but still struggeling with it. How can I make a plug appear?
Blade 22 Jan, 2019 @ 8:46am
@DHLF
will do.
DHLF  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 6:16am
@blade
That is strange, I have never seen such behaviour. This should definetly *NOT* happen.
You mentioned it appeared in a multiplayer game..
As I have not played TOM MP I missed some bugs(which only appears in MP of course).
Thanks to all the kind people who told me about them I will try to fix them.

Last idea to check:
Please try a singleplayer game with a working 3d printer(like those dev-printer which does not need resources) and build some solar panels, power cables and power hungry stuff.

I will definetly look into this issue but.. it may take some days before a patch may be released.
Just send me some "time" ^^

@DHLF
ok. so far that has not been the case in MP set ups. in stead the soler read a continuas drain from the batts even after being disconnected from the grid and only show a less then .1W power chage from the panle itself. im not serten what to think with this.
DHLF  [author] 21 Jan, 2019 @ 10:47am
This Mod has not been updated since 2017 as no errors have been reported (until now?).
Any solarpanel/MMRTG build(after mod activation) will change connctions (original:2xoutput) to one input and one output. This does NOT affect already "placed" panels(like in a scenario).
Any solar panel/mmrtg build using a printer(after mod activation) will have one input/one output.
To get the total ammount of produced/consumed energy try to place those "boxes" at the end of the powerline(err.. those thing which got 6 inputs/6outputs, connector box?).
This thing should show the actual power/drain in the power line so far.
Blade 20 Jan, 2019 @ 1:22pm
@DHLF
haveing a bug where the new panls will not charge for a RTG. is this a fualt in the mod or will thay only charge from other soler panls?
DHLF  [author] 3 Feb, 2017 @ 9:44am
I am sure it do still works, just testet :)
Known "problems":
1) dont forget to activate this mod..
2) only newly build solar panels will have this function.
3) Blame me, i was too lazy to add different coloured plugs on the solar panels

Just try to put one power cable to the "assembled" solar panel.
When done try to put the other end there, too ;)
SyberSqueegy ☠ 3 Feb, 2017 @ 8:23am
I'm not sure if this mod functions anymore...
DHLF  [author] 22 Dec, 2015 @ 8:19am
Yes.. that was the idea behind the mod.
You could line up as many panels as you wish(and the game allows :D ) and lets them power a device.
Like in the picture in the description above(you may click it so it will enlarged for better view)
gregolego gaming ඞ 22 Dec, 2015 @ 6:14am
wait, so you plug, lets say, two solar panels together and then plug one to a machin and they generate 2x energy?
Duski 25 Oct, 2015 @ 10:57pm
Yeah there is an alternative but its still pretty helpful :)
DHLF  [author] 25 Oct, 2015 @ 7:54am
Yes, that was the reason i made this mod.. but there is an alternative in game now ;)
Duski 24 Oct, 2015 @ 11:46pm
So this mod is to connect other solar panels power to power high power sucking machines?
『微光』Yuki 15 Oct, 2015 @ 11:15pm
goodwork,i hope some one make a power station.
Udon De Noodle 14 Oct, 2015 @ 3:14pm
yea soil extractior is 2 high for power xonsumsion i got around 11 solar pannels connected to 2 of them and i am stil draining power through 12 can flly power one (assumed they are all clean)
DHLF  [author] 14 Oct, 2015 @ 7:32am
That should be work the same..
There is only one problem left:
even if the power lines are connected
the power consumption of the soil extractor is very high.. so it will take some time to "load" the batteries in the solar panels to power up the extractor itself..
Thats why we are trying to connect as much panels as possible :D
LexingtonDelta 14 Oct, 2015 @ 7:27am
the tower i caN get working, what about the other things, like the soil extractor and such
DHLF  [author] 14 Oct, 2015 @ 7:03am
That is strange..
It *should* work if the tower is near the solar panel thing.
One idea.. the end of the cable plug should "face" in the direction of the communication tower plug.
If it targets sideways those "hologram" of fitting will not appear.
LexingtonDelta 13 Oct, 2015 @ 6:52pm
i can get the red end no problem, but i never see the "hand connection" icon with the green end, on any equipment
DHLF  [author] 13 Oct, 2015 @ 9:03am
Be sure to use the correct end(one side got a red and the other side got a green marking).
Just take up the opposite END of the power cord.. and face it near the plug.
The "collision" fit position was slightly above/below the plug in test version, just try it out.
If the power cord is not long enough it will not fit or even worse.. "jumping" around without deploying power
LexingtonDelta 13 Oct, 2015 @ 7:24am
ive never been able to figure out how to plug things into the equipment, only thing i can plug a cord into is solar panel, how do i plug this into say, the coms tower or the soil extractor
Udon De Noodle 11 Oct, 2015 @ 9:35am
i just got a diea now olney if i could make mods.......any i wil tell you make cables so the wires themselves dont have a cillsionmesh but the ends (where u attach each of them to) have a very small collsion mesh
DHLF  [author] 11 Oct, 2015 @ 8:00am
But you are right about ripping the cables out by plain WALKING over them -.-
I hope Dram is going to implement at least a shovel so we can bury those damned cables or..
electricity pylons :D
Udon De Noodle 11 Oct, 2015 @ 7:44am
wel untill u shove ur head through a base....
DHLF  [author] 11 Oct, 2015 @ 7:30am
Hehe, when done correctly.. those "flying by wire" is an interesting way of speed running across mars :)
Udon De Noodle 11 Oct, 2015 @ 6:07am
so useful i found when i was making little hub power outlets that when i was flying on thw cable (holding it and on top of it) i would dissconnect some wiers
Rebelgamer 10 Oct, 2015 @ 9:04am
I agree with sybersmoke on this one, it's still very useful for keeping the cables clutter down to a minimum.
sybersmoke 9 Oct, 2015 @ 12:19pm
Not really DHLF, The power hub just removes the need to jerry rig a slew of wall panels into a hub. Your mod though adds the ability to chain together the panels reducing the number of cables and wiring mess. They are not mutually exclusive as I have found out when messing with the Dev build with the hub.

It did in one part what I was building out of six parts. But did not effect the benefits your mod offers.
DHLF  [author] 9 Oct, 2015 @ 9:24am
Err, I saw just during testing that Dram has already added the promised power hub..
So this addon seems slightly obsolete..
DHLF  [author] 9 Oct, 2015 @ 9:18am
@kelemenlajos
Hey, exactly what i needed,
it is so hard to find some good guides for modding, thank you!!

Now you could place those panels even on a printer :D
kelemenlajos 8 Oct, 2015 @ 9:22am
Hej DHLF! Could you please modify your solararray.cfg, and change the SLOT variable in this file from "SURFACE" to "TOPSURFACE"? This way the solar panel could be attached to almost any surface in the game (just like the 3d printer).

For modifying of the connector itself you should watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s5CQ8YL-sA
and then you will find the model inside power_solar.xob ;)

DHLF  [author] 7 Oct, 2015 @ 6:30am
Thank you.. but great mod?
I changed only one logical state from TRUE to FALSE and the plug changed to INput.
The hardest work was to find the correct file, changing the file and testing was done really fast.

Thanks to Dram(I dont know the names of any other of the team YET, sorry!) we are able to mod the game.

Blame me for not having been able to "paint" the changed plug with a diffferent colour..
Chimera533 6 Oct, 2015 @ 7:52pm
Great mod! Thank you so much!
