this design is outdated, a new version is needed, if so put a link, also the turret doesnt work properly and also the weapon equipped is an outdated mod

@Logan: Currently, the projector block doesn't support any kind of subgrids, let it be rotor or piston attached parts... this feature has been requested since the introdution of the projctor block, and I can't do anything about it... the only way you can use my tanks in survival is to enabe the copy-paste function, or switch to creative mode temporarily.

Oh. Yeah, that extra rotor was nessesary to add some extra padding for the turret base, that's why I hid it in the first place...
As for the cannon modification, I wouldn't recommend it since it was especially desiged for the RAK turret pack. If you exchangfe it to something else, it might broke the balance.

As for the last question, It is a reliable tank, but it's not as protected as I hoped to be.

Ah, Not horizontaly, Verticaly. I noticed that there was a an extra rotor and because I was in need of a weapon to aim at a hostile frigate I unlocked it.

Also, not using pak but the 128mm cannon from the 128mm cannon pack.

@Commander_Downy: It's a small flaw in the design.
To make this turret usable in gravity (without scripting and extra aiming turret), I had to perfectly align the cannon's center of mass with it's vertical axle. While the two points are nearly at the same spot vertically, the center of mass is lower than the axle. This causes the cannon to rotate back to its steady horizontal state. Just like a thumble doll.

• Also, have you tried to remove one stack of ammo from the ammo rack? The turret is loaded with ammunition, and this adds some extra weight to the end. I think it might help if you remove/shoot some rounds from it.
• In addition, you can lock the cannon with button [ 2 ] when you're controlling the turret.

My cannon keeps going up when I'm trying to go down. What do I need to do from preventing it from doing so?

Please disregard my last post I miss understood its mechanic’s as to the advanced rotor it would not work with the turret I understand why you made it hollow as for the barrel moving downwards that’s simple gravity and weight and as for it rolling space engineers is still not really built for vehicles as long as you take turns at 20 it will work perfectly.

as far as i can tell the problem is is its within the suspention and that it lacks suficiant mass to turn i can turn it at 20km with a little problem from tires but thats that it dosnt like bumps i took one dead stop olmost fliped it while ripping out the front left tire i have an apc prototype that handles well its sespention is a little different from this perhaps i could help on making this beast run over some one that is XD.
i would like to know how you got the remot controle to work the main guns rotor i have yet to figure that one out?

Did you consider putting the Connector block on the bottom as part of the conveyor tube axle? I'm looking over the design as well trying to figure out how to improve it.

Hey, KaRei!

You're doing everything right, the main problem is the cannon is not balanced exactly, so the barrel will always lean downwards. The tank was designed in zero-g, before the planet update...

I'll post an update on the Battle Ax addressing this issue, so stay tuned!

Hmm, did something change with the gravity, weight of the barrel, or the strength of the gyroscopes since this tank was created?
The gyro seems to be too weak to raise the gun barrel now, so the control of gun angle with mouse is not working. Or am I doing something wrong?
I am able to control the gun with controlling the rotor vertical velocity, I am just curious if the mouse control with the rotor turned off should still be working or not.

@gergelypuskaval Yeah I was in creative and I cannot paste a complete battleaxe into my world. The main chassis shows up without any of the other parts when I try to bring it in via blueprint. Is there another way? :)

@UnsungHeroRising: If you're trying to weld the grid together using a projector block, it will not work since the tank composed of four different parts connected with rotors.

Also keep in mind that any projected part connected with rotor or piston will be unavailable for welding. It's a missing feature which hasn't been addressed for a long time now...

I suggest to switch to creative mode, paste a few battle axes in your world, then switch back again. Have fun with it! :)

What are your experiences with this tank on real planets?

My machine unfortunately can't handle the increased performance, so I tried it only once. I found that all wheels were acting completely different and unexpected ways, and all my ground vehicles were created in artificial gravity (keeping the tonnage in mind of course).

Nice. Well defended (holds few 400mm missiles or hits of MWI dual cannons) but compact enough for transporting without too many problems. Already using it on my DS - with another main gun and additional weaponry like AA turret.
